They are an amazing band live and Tom Kiefer still has a killer voice. Bad Seamstress Blues/Falling apart at the Seams is my favorite song by Cinderella
I'm telling you. Growing up in this era was so AWESOME! I'm not ashamed to say I dressed like the girls in these videos 😂. I have the absolute BEST memories from this time of my life with these songs in the back drop. Wouldn't change a THING! 🙌❤️
I remember going to the skating rink every Friday and at the end of the night, the DJ would ask all the kids to come to the middle of the rink and he would play slow songs. I would always slow dance with my boyfriend Bryan. This song was one of our favorites. He would dip me and act like I was a guitar and act like he was strumming the strings. He was my first love and will always hold a special place in my heart. We tried to make it work on and off for many years and then lost contact. I found out that he passed away, a few years ago. My heart is broken, but my love for him will be eternal. Maybe one day I'll see him in heaven and he will ask me to dance again. I'm glad you chose this song, I think I was meant to hear that today. Until we meet again, Bryan ❤
Cinderella blasted onto the scene in 1986 with this song, but it was in 1991 that they pretty much flamed out with the advent of grunge (along with many other hair metal bands). Still, there's no denying they had some bangers. "Somebody Save Me" might be your next one, or possibly "Shelter Me", "Coming Home", or "Gypsy Road".
No, they blasted in with Shake Me. This was their follow up. That’s why when the mean girls drive off in their pink polka dotted car, they are playing Shake Me.
They flamed out when Tom Keifer had to stop singing when he damaged his vocal chords with that growl .....he has since returned to music but doesnt do the growl voice like that anymore
@@jdeang3531 You are absolutely right! - Rock had energy, solos, light shows, swagger, a total blast of emotions, talent & songwriting at its best - grunge had none of this & ruined the most influential global force the world has ever seen - I don't know if real rock will recover - younger people don't seem to get it or even care -
I was very fortunate to see this band three times live, me and my Bros couldn't wait till they came back into town. We went for the girls in the fishnet outfits. 👊👍
I requested this like a THOUSAND times!!!!!!! lo and you guys finally see Cinderella is an Awesome band!!!!!! Shake me.... Somebody Save Me NEXt!!! They Rock....
Cinderella was “found” and sponsored by Bon Jovi. You’ve listened to two of their slower songs, which are fire, but they can ramp up the pace as well. Their first big hit, which debuted just before Nobody’s Fool, was Shake Me and its highly recommended. But I think Save Me is as fire as it comes. They have so many great songs. Oh and I saw they caught your attention, Jay, with tossing the guitar over the shoulder. This was a common move amongst 80’s hair bands, and no one did it better than Cinderella. Lol
See Steve Vai in the video for David Lee Roth’s Yankee Rose for a lot of guitar antics including the guitar swung around the neck and over the shoulder trick. It doesn’t get much moreover the top 80’s than this song and video.
One of the few standouts from the hairband era... very formulated but they did it well, along side of similar bands like RATT, Poison and The Cult. Definitely a rabbit hole worth venturing.
Speaking of RATT - if Jay loves 80s hair bands, and they haven't done any of their songs yet, they have a major rabbit hole to go down with that band. Endless hair band awesomeness!
Classic hard rock ballad of the 80's, can't beat it. Love this song reminds me of my highschool years in the middle, late 80's and when MTV still showed videos!! Good ol days!! Rip Jeff Lebar!!!!
Oh my God, one of the most underrated bands out there. These guys kick so much ass!!! Always been a fan ever since this song came out. So many more great songs of theirs for you to react to.
I've had a bro-crush on Tom Keifer for many years. His voice is powerful, unique, AND he plays a lot of the solos (especially live). He is a top notch singer/songwriter as well as an amazing guitar player.
Man, did I ever need this! Thank ya'll so much, talk about makin someone smile, you guys sure did that tonight. 🤗 It was my birthday a couple days ago, but I've been sick, and today has been tiring, and I sank down in my chair finally and got this great surprise! I saw Cinderella in concert twice back in the day and wished I'd seen them more! Tom Keiffer is so doggone talented and lordy, he was a cool drink of water to look at too!! I'm going to sit back and enjoy this now, and consider this my birthday video this year! Much love to the beautiful Rob Squad family! And I don't mean us, I mean Jay, Amber and your darling kids! 🥰🥳🎂🎈💃🎵🎸
Awesome song choice! This was the first Cinderella song I remember hearing. I waited up all night with my boom box and recorded it on my mix tape. 🤣 I listened to this so much on my Walkman. Just rewind, play, rewind and play...over and over. When I saved up enough money from babysitting, I bought the Cinderella Night Songs cassette. I absolutely loved this band. I still listen to their songs 36 years later.
Cinderella definitely had the "glam metal" look in the late '80s, but to me, they always stood out from most of the other glam bands, because their music was much more bluesy and rooted in '70s rock sounds. When I first heard them in '86, I knew, right away, that they were '70s rock lovers with an '80s visual style, and I loved them! Check out "Shelter Me" and "Gypsy Road!"
Absolutely. I saw them with Bon Jovi on the "Slippery when wet" tour. In my opinion Cinderella was way better than bon jovi. More soulful rock , as opposed to bon jovi's pop sound.
@@jimrupe9991 I never got to see Cinderella in concert, and I really regret that. I did see Bon Jovi in '85, as the opening act for Ratt, two years before "Slippery When Wet," and Jon and the boys were pretty good at that time, as more of a hard rock band than the pop/rock group they would soon become. I liked Ratt better though, both in general and at that particular show. I wish Cinderella had been the opener, but they didn't release their debut until a year later.
Love that you finally is getting back to Cinderella! They are with Mötley Crüe and Poison the type of music I grew up with. Still remember when their first debut album with this song came out in June 1986, and how great it was to get another 80`s Hair Band to become a fan of! I think that "Shake Me" from this same debut album is their best faster one. You get a great riff, guitar solo and even more of that swinging guitars over the shoulders! 😀 That one and "Shelter Me" really should be the next two ones. That is their biggest hit and most catchy I would say, and you will love the use of sax in this one. Keep doing their music videos! 👍 In "Shelter Me " you will hopefully be able to spot a few known faces in that video. I guess this should be you next one, but please do "Shake Me" later as well.
I love both of the ballads you have reacted to. If you want something faster, try "Shelter Me." That would be a great place to start on their faster songs. "Don't Know What You Got......" is my favorite song of theirs. "Nobody's Fool" was the single I bought on vinyl back in the day.
Cinderella's singer is Tom Keifer. He's FIRE!! He has a great solo album too you should check out. You need to React to Gypsy Road, Falling Apart at the Seams, Shelter Me, Heartbreak Station, Still Climbing, The More Things Change, The Last Mile, Coming Home, Blood From A Stone. 4 albums, but all full of bangars!!
Finally someone is reacting to Cinderella. You have to dive down this rabbit hole. They were an awesome part of the glam rock era. And Tom Keifer is an amazing voice.
I used to hang on the bus and tour a little bit with Cinderella and yeah crazy times the singer Tom and I were just like buds for a long time but yeah crazy crazy crazy!
I am so happy that I found your channel. Been totally bingeing your videos. As a teenager in the 60’s I so appreciate your perspective and your comments are usually right on point.
"Somebody Save Me" for their most metal song, "Heartbreak Station" for their best ballad after the first reaction you did; or "Gypsy Rose." Those are the best Cinderella songs to do next on your journey.
"Save Me", was fast and one of their bigger hits from the 1980's as well as "Shake Me", however one of their greatest musically was a song called, "Gypsy Road". Gypsy Road is like if Heavy Metal and the Blues had a baby, this would be the song.... They were good live because they were about the music and not so much about the show. I saw them with Motley Crue in the NW right after they released their Debut album, Night Songs (one of the best debut metal albums in history). I enjoyed them just as much as the wild men from Crue that night of course I was pretty hammered/baked/smoked/etc... HEY it was the 80's! Most of the 80's are a complete wash memory wise. There's an old saying about the 1980's, If you remember the 80's then you really didn't live the 80's! ROFLMAO! 🤣 🤣 🤣 So true!
I've seen Cinderella twice, always a good show. On their Long Cold Winter tour the singer was lowered from the rafters playing a white grand piano with snow falling (fake snow, we get enough of the real stuff in Wisconsin), he was playing the song "Long Cold Winter". AMAZING.... You should react to this song and "Shake Me", one their rockers. 🙂
Now you are talking! Cinderella is amazing. Need to check out songs that others pointed out. Tom Keiffer is the lead singer and his range is incredible. His spoken voice is so different than when he hits the raspy growl.
I'm so glad you loved this! I was a Cinderella fan back in the day and now I'm a Tom Keifer fan (lead singer's name). I just saw his concert two nights ago in Philly and am going again next week to another venue. There's a reason Tom Keifer is still headlining long after the 80's hair band phase. Listen to his new song, Rise. I think you'll love it.
The guitarists do this amazing guitar flip at 6:15 so cool you caught that. If you watch shake me it explains who those 2 girls were. If you listen to this one and go back and listen to don't know what you've got, you can hear the differences in Tom Keifers voice. Those screams cost him dearly. 7 throat surgeries later and the left vocal cord is paralyzed. These is a live performance of Nobody's Fool, filmed in Russia that's really good. Tom was a 80s heartthrob
One of the single best concerts I've ever witnessed in 1991on their "Heartbreak Station" tour with "Slaughter" as the opening band. SUPREMELY UNDERRATED band & one of my all time favorites. "SOMEBODY SAVE ME" is still in my daily playlist and still pumps me up full of adrenaline. You guys totally missed out on the glory days of hard rock/metal. So glad I grew up with it. R.I.P. Jeff Lebar.
I saw them on the Long Cold Winter tour for their 2nd album, this is off of their first album. Probably the best show I ever saw, they had Winger and Bullet Boys opening for them and it was AWESOME!! Tom Kiefer is one of the reasons I picked up the guitar in the first place, love his style of playing and Jeff Labar was just as talented. The whole band was just amazing live!!! RIP Jeff Labar you will be missed!!
Great song. This was the band that surprised me the most when I saw them in concert. I wasn't expecting much and they really surprised me they were very tight musicians and very talented.
This band was my very first concert, on their Long Cold Winter tour. Bullet Boys and Winger opened for them. Oooh, that's a band you should do if you haven't, Winger. They were the epitome of "cheesy hair metal" but there is no denying they had some catchy songs.
Wasn't that an awesome freaken show? Never missed a live performance in Northern Ohio. Met them a couple times - them and winger knew us by name. Love them
My absolute favorite 80s hair band. Tom Keifer is still out touring all the Cinderella hits with a new band, and he still sounds magnificent. Many others have suggested some of their other hits, but please keep reacting to these guys.
You can thank Jon Bon Jovi for giving Cinderella their big break. They toured with some other bands before opening for Bon Jovi on their Slippery When Wet album which was the BIGGEST album in 86.
Long cold winter, hard to find the words, Sun shines through the rain. Just to name a few. Nobodys fool, live in moscow, that wesion will blow your mind.
Another favorite of mine!! Here's a suggestion - has anyone mentioned the band "Kix"? Its a local boys in my town made the big time. They played the bar circuit in my area but got some national attention in the 80s. Try Blow my Fuse. Keep reacting!!
Yeah, "Blow My Fuse" is awesome. I also really liked "Don't Close Your Eyes" back in the day. Hopefully, enough people will suggest Kix at some point for the suggestions to land on J&A's radar bc they do have a really cool sound.
No kidding…Tesla, Queensryche, Ratt and Scorpions. I listen to this stuff still today. Queensryche during Operation Mind Crime tour in Toronto still BEST concert I’ve attended..,and I’ve been to many!!
Saw a triple bill of Poison, Cinderella and Bon Jovi back when this came out. Hair Metal extravaganza ! Cinderella impressed the crowd and Bon Jovi knew it so they played beyond the 11pm cutoff, and the stadium lights came on to force the end of their set. Ah the 80s....
A great 80's band. The grit in Tom Kiefer's voice is so distinctive. I saw them live about 7 years ago. They sounded just as good live as they do on their album.
I am surprised I haven't seen this suggestion in the comments. Next song should be "Bad Seamstress Blues/ Fallin' Apart at the Seams" the official studio version. It has a blues influenced intro. Vastly underrated band!! Tom Kieffer is the lead singer. He talks about Janis Joplin being one of his influences.
When I was growing up with this music I'd hear the grownups complain about what the vocalists sounded like. But I took choir/chorus twice in my K-12 years and I'll tell you what, it does take talent to sound like that. It takes a certain amount of power behind those lungs too. It's amazing.
Growing up in the 80's was awesome. There was just an endless amount of amazing music and bands dropping all the time. Just an unbelievable time for rock and heavy metal music!
YESSSS you’re getting into the good Cinderella now. The first song you did was their biggest hit (power ballad, of course) but I prefer their harder sound. So many songs to check out! “Somebody Save Me”, “Shake Me”, “Gypsy Road”, and “The Last Mile” are my favorites (along with this one) and I can’t wait to see you go deeper into them! So much talent in this band.
If you liked this, their other hits are “Shake Me” , “Somebody Save Me”, “Gypsy Road”, “The Last Mile” , “Coming Home” , AND “Shelter Me” which has a Saxophone solo.

Cinderella may have been the most underrated hair metal band. Gypsy Road is another good one and Coming Home really shows Tom Keifer’s vocal range.
Agreed
They straddled that line of heavy metal and hair metal as well as anyone.
100% agree. Not a hair band, a rock band. Or just a damned good band.

🙂
I am 55, born in '68, and to me you can't beat the '70's and '80's rock music.
Now you are talking! Cinderella is amazing. Need to check out songs that others pointed out. Tom Keiffer is the lead singer and his range is incredible. His spoken voice is so different than when he hits the raspy growl.
This was my first guitar solo I ever played on stage in front of a crowd. Brings back memories
Any song Cinderella does is great...just listen to everything...Rock In Peace Jeff Labar...
Holy cow another treat. Another band that is underrated. Definitely listen to more. Tom Keifer what a voice. Gypsy Road is a must.

R.I.P. Jeff Lebar.
Yes, Cinderella. A bluesy “Hair Band”. The whole “night songs” album is 🔥
Such an underrated band but one of my ultimate favorites of the 90's!!!!!!!🥰😍🥰😍🤩❤
Their whole 1st album was gold. Every song was good. Somebody Save Me and Shake Me are part of that album. Gypsy Road is great too.
One of the truly underappreciated bands of the 80's.
Seen them in 2001 the ticket was Slaughter, Dokken, Cinderella, and Poison. Cinderella stole the show!
I like Bad Seamstress Blues/Fallin' Apart At the Seams. Different (a little) from their ballads.
Great song. This was the band that surprised me the most when I saw them in concert. I wasn't expecting much and they really surprised me they were very tight musicians and very talented.
Coming Home and Last Train.- Saw them in their heyday, always put on a great show. Tom Kiefers voice goes from soft to RnR scratch with ease.
That whole album rocks,night songs
A much underrated band. "Long Cold Winter" is one of the greatest rock albums of all time.
Whenever I hear this song, I think, "Bringin' on the Heartbreak called; they want their EVERYTHING back."
Love them
Seen this tour too, Iowa.
I have seen Cinderella 3 times, once with Bon Jovi too.
Yep pretty sure I went to that concert in KY!
Yep, I went. Cinderella BLEW Bon Jovi away, too!
Good times
Saw them in Greensboro. Had a blast. Camped out in the Colosseum parking lot for a couple of days with friends to get tickets.
Yesssssss!!!! Kix is awesome!! Cold Blood for sure!!!
Love Kix!
Yes, love "Cold Blood"!!!!!
lead singer's name is Tom Keifer (sounds like KEEFER)
My absolute favorite band. They are AMAZING
Just saw Tom Keifer today still sounds exactly the same even after the surgeries. Just phenomenal
80’s hair metal doesn’t get enough respect. Totally remember this in my youth. 🔥
Cinderella impressed the
crowd and Bon Jovi knew it so they played beyond the 11pm cutoff, and the stadium lights came on to force the end of their set. Ah the 80s....
You have to react to “Gypsy Road.” It’s one of their best.
Love it.
A great 80's band. The grit in Tom Kiefer's voice is so distinctive. I saw them live about 7 years ago. They sounded just as good live as they do on their album.
Such an amazing song. Great band. The live version of this in Moscow features a great intro from Tom Keifer, who I think is a fantastic guitarist.
This was one of my favorite songs by Cinderella. I loved listening to every song by Cinderella. I can see you get it when you rock out to the song.
These guys have a lot of great songs. RIP Jeff LaBar. Thank you Cinderella for the great songs and memories
The 80’s ! What a great time to be alive in my 20’s. Great concert!
That's what u call stage performance! What a delivery!!!👍👏👏❤️
I like how it's big hair or glam, but it's also bluesy as hell
Jay, get you a long wig to wear during these songs! 😂 that would be hilarious 😂
I saw Cinderella live in concert with Kix and Winger back in 1989. Terrific band, very entertaining. RIP Jeff LaBar (the lead guitarist), 1963-2021.
Yes! This IS the most underrated rock band ever! They were musically talented. Tom keifer has a unique voice.love this band!
I got to see them in the 80's, what a "Powerful Band" to see live!!!!
