    Does anyone have Bob Costas' mini-speech that we JUST missed in this clip. It was vintage Rappin Roberto.

    About 2 plays before the end of the game with Nebraska ahead. Penn State completed a pass where the player was a good 2-3 feet out of bounds. If the ref had called it correct Nebraska would have won. I am sure there must be some RUclips videos of this play somewhere.

    They actually were one play away in 1996 as it turned out, the 4th-and-inches play by Texas that turned into a 70-yard gain and eventual TD in the final minutes. Had they made that stop they were already in field goal range and could have scored a touchdown to win. A win in that game would have put them in the NC game against Florida State. 99 it was a 24-20 loss at Texas and in 00 a 29-28 loss at K-State. Probably couldnt have made the NC game in 00, but in 99 they would have gone over Va-Tech.

    as a Miami fan, this game hurt me. A day later, my Miami Dolphins lost a tight playoff game to the San Diego Chargers. Both games we should of won. That was a tough weekend for a 15 year old snot nose kd.

    Yup I watched the entire time. That's the point. The ENTIRE GAME. It's a 4 quarter game, not a 3 and a half quarter game.

    So happy for Osborne and Nebraska! They had the best team in 1983. Made a 4th and 8 by running the friggin’ option. Could have kicked a PAT and won the National Championship but Osborne didn’t want to kiss his sister. He went for two and didn’t get it, so Miami won the game by a point. Greatest game ever, imo.

    i think he meant 1999 when we fumbled on the 1 yard line in our only loss of the season to texas.

    technically this was the 1994 huskers, which while good (obviously), were actually beatable.

    huh? Before this game, the Huskers last won a national title in 1971. You must have made a typo, 'cause that's 23 years.

    Even though Nebraska had a awesome team, that year. Miami should of won that game. That was a tough loss.

    Actually. Nebraska has fired more head coaches since 2000 than Miami has. Nebraska: Fired Solich, Fired Callahan. Miami: Davis (Voluntarily Moved on to the NFL) and Coker (Fired). Miami will keep Shannon as long as he shows progress and with this recruiting class, he's done that.
    Go Canes!

    people who didnt watch the 96 season dont understand we WERE one play away. we lost 19-0 at arizonast early in the season. if everyone remembers correctly EVERY TEAM had 1 loss that season even the national champion florida. if we stopped texas on 4th and 1 which they converted and got the TD we would have been in the game no questions asked. so for those of you that just look up stuff but dont actually know stay out of this. that game was right. ONE play away. and not to mentoin the BS 93 game

    '97 Wolverines? ROFL! You mean the team that SHARED their title? Not a chance! As a matter of fact, Michigan hasn't won an undisputed title in over 40 years, and so much for those 30+ seasons without a losing record, 3-8 baby, Woohoo!

      2001CanesGOAT Nah man your Hurricanes that can name NFL players that could barely beat a Boston College, Virginia Tech teams?
      1995 Nebraska would destroy that 2001 Miami team. I would put that 1995 Husker team against anyone.

    This is not correct. Some mistakes here..
    In '96 Finished ranked #6, would not have played in the NC game, both losses came for more than 10 points, hardly 1 play away.
    2000, Miami ended the season ranked #2 from a loss to #3 Washington. Nebraska ended the season ranked #7. Seminoles, Miami, Washington had way better wins and loses, Oklahoma spanked you guys that year.
    You guys were definitley good though in the 80s & 90s, 3 NCs and played in 6 NC games, not bad at all.

  • @01CanesrdGOAT
    @01CanesrdGOAT 16 лет назад

    Wow. Youre truly delusional. The fact that Nebraska has 46 CCs and only 5 NCs is a testament to the weakness of your conference. Miami was independent until 1991, and in those 17 years we've been Conference Champs more than half the time. And when we win the conference we usually play for the National Title.
    Now Joe Ganz may be a "2-star", but 7-4 is not "playing like a 5-Star." Especially when 5 of your 7 wins come from playing W. Michigan and San Jose St, New Mexico St, Baylor and Iowa St.

    ha - ridiculous. with miami's recent recruiting classes and coaching turnovers (where are you larry coker? oh thats right, ESPN U) i'll give 5:1 odds that Nebraska wins a title before miami does.

  • @TheDOLMET
    @TheDOLMET 12 лет назад

    Yea, you probadly never ever watched that game. Youngin. Miami had that game, won, if you rewatch the whole game. That was along time ago, though, we moved on from that, you can dwell on that bull shit game if you want to.

  • @01CanesrdGOAT
    @01CanesrdGOAT 16 лет назад

    Are you on sick? Miami has the #1 ranked recruiting class to Nebraska's 30th. Secondly, good luck breaking in Bo "The Spaz" Pelini, where are you Frank Solich? Where are you Bill Callahan? You all go through coaches like people go through underwear. I give it 5:1 Odds Miami wins an NC before NU even wins 9 games.

    Will that cane Team that denies Nebraska a National Title, be the same one the got owned by the gators? Canefan4lyfe you cant say your program is back when couldnt even put up a touchdown against a hated rival.

    And I'm assuming your proud of "coming close" to beating Texas Tech this year. The same Texas Tech that just got DESTROYED by OU 65-21? Congrats, maybe next year you'll "come close" to contending in your conference. And in the offseason maybe Bo "The Spaz" Pelini will "come close" to getting a To 25 recruiting class. Then, maybe NU will "come close" to not getting booed at home anymore. LMAO!
