This is, hands down, my favorite Ellen interview. Sign Language is so beautiful-I think every American child should begin learning this in preschool or kindergarten. Imagine… we could communicate non-verbally and no deaf person would feel impaired ❤️
He is the most phenomenal interpreter I’ve ever seen. One of my dear friends is a level V but honestly this guy is better. I mean, there should be a level VI just for him.
it also helps that they've been together for YEARS/DECADES. Barely meeting someone or interpreting for them a few times compared to seeing someone daily and knowing them intimately goes a long way. But he does do a great job.
In college, I worked at a bookstore, and Marlee often came in with her kids. I can’t sign, but she‘d read my lips, or write down her request (like a book title). She was always kind, patient & beautiful! 💗
After watching CODA, I've watched 'Children of a Lesser God', one of the great romantic movies of all time starring Marlee Matlin, and I can say that God, she was sooooooo gorgeous in her early 20s. I would recommend watching this film.

I'm not shocked at all. She's incredible. I was working at a bar in Saint John when they were filming "Children of a Lesser God". We didn't get many celebrities in Saint John (i.e. like, none). The bar overlooked the Saint John Harbour and one night as I was closing up, I looked out the window and saw William Hurt walking along the boardwalk. He probably thought I was a mannequin in a store because I never moved, jaw hanging open, frozen in place. I'm pretty sure I was still standing there when they opened the bar the next day, drooling and babbling ".....him.....saw....him......saw.....him....."

HELLO, i’m deaf. i can’t enjoy your videos anymore, and i wanted to watch this but it can’t because you kept on cutting the interpreter. it’s hard for me to understand or enjoy your channel anymore because you don’t do captions anymore.
