Arrived at Cardiff for the evening flight to Amsterdam - just in time to see the big bird breaking cover behind the terminal building. What a noise, what a sight, what an aircraft. Privileged to see the inaugural departure.
Just found out recently, that I do not have to any longer go to Heathrow, in order to fly to Brazil. KLM to Amsterdam, then on to Brazil from Cardiff International Airport. 30 minute drive from Pontypool to Cardiff Airport, apparently, then effortless to Brazil. So I will be trying this when I go out to Brazil later this year, and finally can put two fingers up to Heathrow and their crabby staff. They even have a business class lounge at Cardiff. Makes sense to me to fly from Cardiff from now on. Hope they can make the airport a complete success and add more to it in the coming years.
Yes, same from Brisol with KLM via Amsterdam 😄 KLM are such a valuable airline to have at an airport because they allow transfers via AMS to basically anywhere! I hope they can too. Fingers crossed! Thankyou for watching 😊
Well from my point of view it is the fact do not have to go to Heathrow anymore. It is alright going to the airport, you know National Express bus, exciting you are going on holiday, so the 3 hours from Newport does not matter. But coming back, now that is when going via Heathrow is the drag. 3+ hours back on bus, na, I am done with that. I will be driving to Cardiff Airport which is only 35-40 minutes drive, park in the long-stay and not be worried about a 3+ hour journey back on an uncomfortable coach, which is what they are after 2 odd hours. If they can just get the infrastructure sorted out to Cardiff Airport, by adding a proper link, rather than country roads, then for sure Cardiff could become THE airport in the West.
Fly Away / Rupert Well its definitely possibly for larger aircraft to land and take off in Cardiff Airports smaller runway, especially as the airport is also a maintenance base for British Airways alongside the rare longer haul charters, the jumbo jets (ruclips.net/video/_2jLhaXDtIA/видео.html) and even the mighty A380 (ruclips.net/video/eMjP83bpgoc/видео.html) managed it just fine so I don't think its a huge problem for A350's or similar.

I couldn't agree more with everything you said 😀 We will see how things play out! 😁
excellent video mate, seemed like a pretty short takeoff
Thankyou very much 😊 Yeah super short! Thanks for watching 😆
Brilliant video
Thankyou very much 😊
What a beautiful airliner! It’s a B787?
Isn't she just 😍 In this video it is an Airbus A350, but this route will be operated by a 787 from now on 😊 Thanks for watching!
I would of come down to the highwayman inn but I had to leg it too the airport lol. Shame I couldn’t. (Ps it’s Liam off of Facebook lol)
Ah don't worry, maybe next time! 😊 Atleast you saw it 😅 Thankyou for watching!
Excellent! Still wondering how the A350 can take off on such a rather small runway (about 2350 m)...
Thankyou very much 😊 It is amazing isn't it, and it didn't use anywhere near all of it, such a phenomenal machine!
So true! All the best from Hamburg 😉
All the best from Bristol!
Thanks 😊
