Like his own pilots, the hours air traffic controllers can work are limited by law. It is not as simple as just getting the other 70% in to cover. Until recently the ATC at Gatwick Airport was provided by DFS, a German air traffic control company. Gatwick Airport chose to terminate their contract early and asked NATS to return. The current staffing issues ant Gatwick are the fault of DFS, not NATS. The latter is now trying to increase numbers, not a quick process in ATC, but in the process reaping the rewards of the gutter mouth above for the failings of DFS.

What a great piece -nice to see a leader that knows his industry and is rightly dismayed at the apparent lack of support by NATS to run his very large airline .
Well said Michael, there’s you trying to run a business that is so competitive and so difficult and there they are bullshitting with their excuses. Well done Michael again
Ryanair is used to say fuck off to everyone, including custommers..
Great management style. That’s we need more of.
A legend. Top CEO, straight talking.
He's absolutely right.
That’s for calling out the incompetence of these people with jobs for life.
His body movements and facial expressions are top notch comedy 😅
Love it, he needs to be the PM! Workers here are useless……
I agree with everything he says about NATS. I have ranted in my little world for years about its inefficiency, but without the platform he has to express the same. Good on ya.
The worst airline ever..8months after they cancelled my flight I'm still waiting on refund..how many have this happened too
Well done. Michael.
Hes a liar said brexit wud lead to more expensive uk flights he lied the irish eu lovers pay the most look it up
He's epic! A legend! 😁👍
What a top bloke. We need more people like him, then maybe the this country would not be so broken.
He's a businessman not a politician.
He would make a better job of running Ireland then the idiots here called politicians
Pretty sure after brexit he wasn’t going to fly to the uk…
You got to love this guy
Go on kid..they don't like it up em..frigging incompetents
Brilliantly honest, we need more of it all over
Why is he still operating in the UK, he promised to leave if we voted for BREXIT,
Good to listen to someone who knows his profession and the abilities or lack of them of others within the profession at said level.
He speaks straight but his pricing is snide.
He should run Ireland. Great Irish lad ☘️
@Atikurrahamn, He is run by the oligarchs who run Ireland into the new serfdom. A pirate of the lowest order.
Really? He does not care about Ryanair staff nor passengers. He calls Ryanair passengers "The Great Unwashed". Just try and imagine how he will treat the poor, the homeless and the average Irish worker. Think it through..................
He’s a fb
I think he actually calls them self loading cargo.
It can't get more Irish than this! I love it!❤❤❤
Ryanair landing at Heathrow???
Looking forward to hearing their rebuttal. Cancel that. Their running of the system is indefensible. The analogy of the ‘fireman working from home while your house is burning’ can be applied to the government, councils and businesses. It has become a non-apology for poor service.
Brilliant exactly what needs to be broadcast to the public, too many jobs worth’s getting over paid doing bugger all.
