I, as an Irish woman, am so shocked and appalled by this case. I have followed most of the details going back to 2019, around the time the full story broke. I’m 35, with a teenage daughter. My two older brothers once admired Conor McGregor as a fighter and even considered him a role model. To me, his behaviour outside the ring has always been rough, reckless, and classless-actions that make him entirely undeserving of admiration. Irish men, particularly fathers and brothers, must confront McGregor’s conduct head-on. His nightclub escapades, drug use, violence, and countless allegations of assault have spanned years. He’s in a long-term relationship and has children of his own. With this verdict now, he has officially failed Ireland-his fans, his family, and his career. Publicans and retailers are now discussing pulling his alcohol brands from shops, pubs, and supermarkets. McGregor has brought all this on himself; he thought he was untouchable. This is proof that no one is above the law, no matter how wealthy they are. Yet I have no doubt his loyal army of young male fans will continue to defend him-and worse, attack Nikita Hand (keyboard warriors with absolutely no legal understanding).

It is amazing how many people commenting online ignore the important point that she only got a 50% result - the jury didn't accept the accusation against Lawerence.

A woman can put herself in a position to have a sexual encounter with somebody (regardless of the fact that they have a partner and child at home - and the morality of doing that is another matter - that includes Connor McGregor doing exactly the same for that matter) but rape can still occur in that situation, and does. It has happened to somebody I know. The evidence shows that Nikita certainly put herself in a situation where sex was possibly on the table, but the evidence also shows an assault had taken place (namely forcible sex that in any encounter is extremely excessive and disturbing.) I disagree that Connor is innocent, but do agree that these types of situations can cause a hell of a lot of grey area, where perpetrators and victims alike may not get the result they deserve.

The video and circumstantial evidence- which seems to support Conor's side of the story- just pale in comparison to the medical evidence. The medical evidence appears to be too much to think anything else happened that night...

I know that there are still many unknowns in this case. I feel that something untoward definitely happened that night. that being said, you don't do cocaine, drink yourself senseless, and then follow two men willingly into a hotel room to expect a friendly chat. I think things definitely got out of hand. Conor was an idiot. that's for sure. don't know much about what the other fellas input was but I can tell you that they both cheated on their partners that night. I don't know who comes out better on this. Nobody I think, but Conor definitely disgraced himself there. It goes to show how one moment of madness can ruin so many lives and create a trauma which ripples throughout families and society. Don't do drugs kids..... Treat people with dignity and respect. I am a bit confused, so I read that there was video footage of Ms Hand staying at the elevator talking to Mr Lawrence after McGregor left, and Mr Lawrence had sex before with Danielle WhateverHerName. And both she and Lawrence testified having sex 3 times and then he and Ms Hand testified both that she and him had sex afterwards 2 times after Mc Gregor left the hotel with Danielle WhateverHerName. And the video should have shown that at the time Ms Hand talked to Mr Lawrence she was not yet beaten and bruised. So somehow it seems, Mc Gregor was convicted of raping her before her having sex with Mr Lawrence, but her being bruised and battered from the sex with Mc Gregor only after the sex with Mr Lawrence. And somehow she must have had a tampon pushed brutally inside her, but afterwards she had sex 2 times with another guy the same night? That seems kind of strange to me. Also: "She sobs through the whole trial" => "Jury feels sorry for her", "He raises his voice because of agitation" => "Jury feels, he show his violent nature." Men and women react differently to stress. It seems to be a double standard here. Both of their reactions seem equally viable for their gender for a situation of feeling to being mistreated.

I'm not a Connor fan, I feel that this case is a sham. No 1 to many lies. No 2 when was the bruises discovered . Day 1or day 2 . How come no body heard the assault. How come the others heard moaning coming from the room. I would be appealing this case. To many grey areas. In this case. Did her boyfriend beat her up?
