You can never mistake Rom Di Prisco's music soundtrack for the early nfs games. Some of the best driving music ever created!
Growing up my dad would play the first 4 Need For Speed games with me. Its always been something me and my dad have common and every now and then we'll go back and listen to some of Rom Di Prisco's work. I even got to have like an email conversation with Rom Di Prisco once about how much his music has affected myself personally. All his stuff has such a warm place in my heart and I always love seeing other fans of the series recognize his work
I dont think Shift 1 and Shift 2 were mistakes. They were pretty decent, just minor tweaks and with Slighty Mad Studios file structure, they were open for modding and you could tweak these games into better sim experience.
They are not bad games but they are bad NFS games.
@@CsanadCzToth If they are not bad games, then they are great NFS games of their own era. For me these are the last NFS games I really enjoyed and revisited multiple times.
THhey are pretty good, some fans just think NFS is always arcade or underground style.
@@CsanadCzToth They were so much fun for me. Might not have been the sim they looked but Grid has been chasing after those games for damn near a decade. Shift 2 is in my opinion the last great nfs game (except 2015). Everyting between Hot Pursuit 2 and Shift 2 (except undercover, fuck undercover) was absolutely magical. Shaped my childhood for sure.
I even enjoyed undercover as well as nitro back in the day
This mod feels like it's from an alternate reality where the Underground games were just a temporary jaunt into some 2000s F&F ricer culture and EA decided to go straight back to racing exotics with Hot Pursuit 3 (What Most Wanted became in this reality)
I always see mods as unofficial dlc's and always like mods when they change up the game (even though i can't play them myself)
I think that's exactly what the mod is supposed to be. elaymm4 is very aware of the fact that MW was indeed supposed to be HP3 (as it was known during very early stages).
EA did plan on alternating between cop and tuner types of games in 2003 but swiftly decided against it because of Underground's success.
@@xan1242 they should of just combined both like they had the idea going with nfs the run tbh but keeping the NFS customization and a huge car list from exotics to imports to muscle cars would be sweet but itd have street racing and races that are like hot pursuit basically i just want a combo underground and hotpursuit with a bit of the run in it. id like another prostreet tbh aswell but people would bash that to much imo was the best nfs game bets car list most content aswell
I prefer the reality where original Need for Speed and Underground are looked as main series, and Hot Pursuit is a weird spin-off. Millions of games out there where you race Ferraris and Mercedeses, far fewer focusing on going through hills in a JDM car, which was the very first NFS, and it peaked around UG2/Most Wanted. 2, 3 and HP2 that had no Japanese cars was a departure from the norm.

This looks absolutely awesome. My first NFS was 3:HP and having never actually played a modded game before, I think this will force me to!

This demo reminds me of MW pre-release version of MW where the game looked more like a new HP game.
MW was supposed to be like HP *very* early in development (sometime around early-mid 2004), but I don't think we consumers have access to any builds of the game in that stage, the earliest version we have access to is the July 2005 PS2 demo

@@dalelumina3 MW basically "connects" the best aspects from Underground and Hot Pursuit. Even Eden talked about it. So imo, it is like a new HP game just with more diverse content

I be tellin' others that Need For Speed Hot Pursuit , of 2010, can't hold a candle to Need For Speed 3: Hot Pursuit of 1998.
@@borla4491 It'd be cool if they could add the original Hot Pursuit and High Stakes cars in an update, along with their soundtracks. It should also pay tribute to the legendary classic NFS composer we had sadly lost years ago.
@@borla4491 So true Sl600(R129) realistic dream car but jaguar xjr-15 nascaC2 and all the other cars from nfs 2-3-4 and music+voice from nfs3 :D
I wanted the Nazca C2 too, but they just added some cars that already existed in the 2nd game. Still great
the amount of attention to detail, and passion is what make this feel like an almost aaa game
Very impressive! But at 6:23 it is a Diablo 6.0, basically a facelifted Diablo, not the track-oriented GTR.
And i think this is the VT model, because it was a bit too much stable to be one of the RWD models. But this may just be a thing of the game, cuz MW and Carbon had this grippy handling model as standard, you could only drift properly in the dedicated drift events from Carbon

Hot Pursuit is my favorite sub series in Need For Speed
Right now in RUclips, we have a lack of tutorials teaching / showing how to edit, create new tracks to race in MW and Carbon. ( Like we saw in this video, the multi path track and in pepega mod ). The tools exist, people who know how to work with them exist... We only need someone to share the knowledge : (
This looks amazing. I'm itching to try out this full conversion mod as I have had a ton of fun with the Pepega Mod. I'm really curious as to what they'll do with the customization. Would they just completely lock that section out and keep it to Performance parts and Paint Jobs? Or would there be added extras? Whatever the case, I'm psyched!
I'm thinking I should try out the Pepega Mod, myself. I can still copy over another raw installation of Most Wanted, thanks to a zip file I found on Archive (Just so you know, I do own a physical copy of the game on PC, but it's copy protected and I like the convenience.)
Well that's one right into the flashback feels. I loved HP ad HP2 as a kid, still do in fact. Can't wait to give this a try. This looks incredible. Not sure if it will beat Pepega as my favorite NFS mod ever, but we shall see...
If it just wouldnt be on MW 2005 engine. This engine has worse netcode than 1998 games and the fps rate is super poor too

I never played any of the hot pursuits but I think 2010 Hot Pursuit was fun.

The most interesting part of the speedrun may be the secret challenge after the Grand Marathon
that mod is something else for me ever before, i've been playing Hot Pursuit 2 on my PC for a while and seeing this video made me actually smile, can't wait for the full version of the mod. ( oh wait, it's November 21, sh#t i gotta boot my computer up later for this awesome mod. )

I had no idea this existed! Hot Pursuit 2 (PS2) is probably my favorite game ever and all certainly try this mod.

and I wouldn't be surprised if HP2 will be following the footsteps of the 2010 reboot
Rivals was pretty much HP2010 sequel of sorts so there's that
@@CodyDBuni That doesn't change the fact that it's the third installment of the Hot Pursuit series. I guess they didn't name it that way to avoid confusion between NFS 3 Hot Pursuit (1998) and NFS Hot Pursuit 3 (2010).

I am born in 2006 year, but this NFS III game was my childhood game. We played it with father, because it has splitscreen!
The most favorite moment was when we, being only two against the cops, stopped at the end of the last lap near the river, where there is an upper and lower road, and jumping between them we collected a very large number of policemen, having fun with the remi and deceiving them.
I will download it today!) But it's sad that my dad is no longer interested in games.

It's best games on hp2 and hp2010, later hpremastered is meh but yet still had same element of fun with friends online lobby or around the world(thanks for autolog crossplay)
My question on this hot pursuit challenge, does it have playable cop mission to catch racer(idk why they added feature on psp version instead ps2 and pc)

This isn't exactly a full blown unofficial sequel, as it's still a mod of Most Wanted with the car list and soundtrack from Hot Pursuit 2.

You know what. I think if EA bought this and sold it as an actual NFS title at like $20-$30, it might sell well

FUN FACT: The layout of Hwy 99, the interstate around Rosewood, is based on the Hometown circuit from NFS3HP!

I do love this mod so much and I guess as an Malaysian fan of NFS, what could I say that I would played the first two games along with the reboot, then I'll give myself a try on this mod and hoping to record some of my gameplays when I bought a new gaming laptop as my old one needs to have it's batteries replaced😓🥲🥲
Also hopefully they add the Lister Storm, Ferrari 360 Modena (my fav of all time), along with Ferrari Testarossa and Chevrolet Corvette C5
Edit: Regardless of what car I love in this subseries and its homage mod, I wish that the music also needs to add also from 3: HP and HS too
Nfs3 hot pursuit and NFS hot pursuit 2 were the best nfs games imo. Honourable mention to most wanted (2005). Most wanted had the most chaotic police chases

Will it be possible to download this as a stand alone experience, so I don't have to install Most Wanted twice on my computer just to play the vanilla Most Wanted game?
Thankfully, I already have a raw installation available on my computer, so I used that and patched that version. Now I can enjoy both Most Wanted and this mod as separate experiences. I will keep that in mind in case of other interesting mods that show up.
Will this mod have the option of a custom soundtrack? I’d love to throw in the old NFS soundtrack

What's a lowkey great addition towards the game that it was made by Criterion, which was known for another racing game, the Burnout Series. Crashes looks very fun and influenced by its previous predecessor..

I want a good mod for NFS 3 HP. Those tracks are nostalgic as f. Probably remade completely with latest NFS level details. And since they are closed tracks (and not open world) they can be modded out completely without frame drops.
Shift is definitely not a mistake. It was a shift in another direction for its DNA to walk through. Solely focusing on street racing led to Undercover and other flops, as the idea was getting old. That's one reason the Fast and Furious series shifted to action on a blockbuster level, because the gradual decline in box office revenues meant the series needed a shift. Slightly Mad and EA knew racing itself was the DNA of Need for Speed, and the Shift games largely succeeded in that respect because they carried the aggressive, intensely-fast arcade-y and challenging racing the series was defined by.

Never played MW 2005 version. So this mod will amazing to play.
If the information is correct, Most Wanted was initially thought to be Hot Pursuit 3 and hot pursuit 2010 was another attempt to make a sequel to the 2nd hot pursuit, but criterion thought that this sub-series was kinda old (why?), and turned their game into a reboot
