Dalian is a city in Liaoning province, China. The city's name means "the East Bay" and it was founded by the Russian Empire as Dalny (or Dairen) in 1898. It became a treaty port after the Russo-Japanese War of 1904-1905 and grew into an important industrial centre during the early 20th century.
Dalian is a port city in the Liaoning Province of China. It's known for its beautiful Marina Bay and Venice-inspired canal, which has earned it the nickname "Venice of the East". Dalian is also home to one of the largest military bases in Asia, giving it an interesting history and sense of secrecy.
Dalian is a major sub-provincial port city in Liaoning province, People's Republic of China, and is Liaoning's second-largest city (after the provincial capital Shenyang) and the fourth most populous city of Northeast China.

Dalian is my home town. Before I came to US thirty years ago, I worked in a architectural design firm in Dalian, I participated over 300 project design, construction, and management for my home town Dalian. Your film is so familiar to me, I used to live very close to that castle, the bridge, the biggest square, and also that TV tower on the top of the mountains. Thank you so much for your excelent video. I missed my home town so much, I haven't been back for more than two years due to pandemic. Hope to visit my home town soon to see my 91 years old father, my brother and my sister. Happy Father Day.

Yes, but I do notice that sometimes it's a little over done. Why would you make a stylised British Imperial guard to "guard" an entrance to a new walking street I saw in a cityscape video. China has 56 ethnic groups. It would better help promote them if statues of them are used instead. It's perfectly ok to preserve what has been inherited from China's historical past, but newly build areas should reflect China's long and rich heritage.

So I just turned on my computer and noticed I had a ton of notifications, guess which video I clicked to watch first? Anyways, Alex, you did it again, and this time with a real hidden gem in Dalian, one of my favorite coastal city in China. This city is breathtakingly gorgeous but unfortunately it doesn't get the recognition it deserves -- like many Chinese cities -- so many foreigners just don't know about it. Amazingly, China has many more cities like this all across China the world never heard about, but thanks to Alex and his beautiful wife, we get to see them.
