I've heard the good, bad stories go back to China about 2 thousand years ago. Archie is GREAT with his shift on the ending LOL 😂 a wise man can find new ways to do old things!
When I was a little boy, we had this album of different artists singing their hits. Things like "Above and Beyond", "Don't Let The Stars Get In Your Eyes", and "You Mean All The World To Me". All of these songs are beautiful, and I know all of the words to every one of them still today. But this little skit was on the album too. And I loved to play it, because it would make my mama just laugh out loud. She loved all the songs on that album, but I believe this was her favorite. It introduced me to Archie Campbell...and to the world of Country Comics like "Howwwdeee Minnie Pearl" and "June Carter Cash" But this recording will always be very special to me. And I'll never listen to it without hearing my mama laugh...And that's just fine with me.
I have this on an album called "25 Great American Country and Folk Artists Singing Their Original Hits". This is the only spoken word number on that record.
Not true. It was originally released in America in 1964 on the Artistic label as "25 Great Country Artists Singing Their Original Hits." The Australian version is better though because the back cover has a write-up about Country Music. www.discogs.com/Various-25-Great-Country-Artists-Singing-Their-Original-Hits/master/651683
Mark Taylor thanks for letting me know, Mark. Awesome album. I tried doing some research on the Sunshine Boys and ‘Satisfied’ a few years back. Google has never heard of either.
Back in the day, Live Comedy records were like gold !
