I was born and raised in a southwest suburb of Chicago, Burbank . It was the go to beer in the area . Moved to the Phoenix area in 1993, just found Old Style at Total Wine two months ago . I couldn't tell a difference in the latest product after not having it for 31 years . There have been comments that it's not the same as it was decades ago . I'm just happy that I can get it again !!!
Great vid. I come from the southside of Chicago, so this is the beer I grew up with. I hear ya about the childhood memories. It was always around at family gatherings. I've been drinking it for years. Lately, I've been mixing it up with my beer, trying new ones, but Old Style will always be near and dear to my heart. Thanks for the review.
@SouthSide Michael I love Old Style, it’s right up there with my other favorite old-school beer High Life. There’s a lot to be said for that always there beer. The beers that are in our memories are our best beers no matter what new beers we find. And living in the Chicago area as a little kid helps me too, I know you’re southside, but go Cubs for me. AL can be Sox. Cheers 🍻
@@Beeradventurer Yes, Old Style is awesome. One of the few American beers that I drink. As far as ball goes, yes, I'm a Sox fan for life. I was born into it. Cheers to you bud!
I like this beer, and I've purchased it a number of times in the Chicago area. It's not sold in Louisiana nor Texas, but, oddly, I bought a six-pack in Mexico, once. I've been to about 8 games at Wrigley Field since 2002.
Was my best friends hometown beer. He was from Chicago. When his mother would come to town and visit, she'd bring a case or two(Tacoma WA). I have very fond memories of drinking Old Style and BBQ. Yes he was a huge Cubs fan.
@Randall Wentz first off Go Cubs 😁 and yeah this is the fond memories beer. It’s not the “best” beer but it is good and gets the job done. A friend brought som Old Style Light down for us to review, I’d never even had it. Got to make new memories with that one. I hope you get to make and enjoy many more Old Style memories. Hope to see you in the comments section again soon! Cheers 🍻
I picked up six 12 ounce cabsof them for $6 at my old school, hometown liquor store and I am drinking one right now and watching this video. Greetings from Missouri and cheers
Great review, finally some respect it deserves. But then again you both are Cubs fans like me, and Old Style has a special place in my heart. I think it's a great American old school beer, but I respect many beers. Born and raised in Chicago, and live in IL to this day, so this is a beer! =)
@Larseus first off Go Cubs!! Now on to the beer, even if I was not a Cub fan it’s still a solid old school beer but like you said the link to our shared past gives it more points. I wish I could more easily find it. And I want it in a Cubs can. Lol. Now I gotta go find some. 😁 Hope to see you in the comments section again soon! Cheers 🍻
This is one of my uncles favorite beers. Another uncle had access to this as his parents had it on tap at home. My parents didn't drink so I had no beer to steal. Any hard liquor was old and out of date
When in Chicago I drink this. Hamms came out east via Miller. I like that better then Bud or Miller High Life. I would say the same thing about Old Style. Thay should sell it in the Northeast.
Heileman's Special Export is a skunky beer like Heineken but that beer is so hard to find. If you guys ever see that beer grab it because it will get drank. Great beers folks Old Style in a bottle is here and it will always be here. Great video guys.
@Greg Smith thanks. Glad you enjoyed it. I have seen pictures and I have seen signs, but I have never tried it. I will keep an eye out for it and hopefully I will find it and review it. Hope to see you in the comments section again soon! Cheers 🍻
@therimeweavershow honesty I am not sure. I have tons of glasses. I was a bartender for decades and also enjoy collecting them. I get them from all over.
@Mario Garcia this really illustrates that beer is not only something we drink it is something that we share with friends and family and it’s the memories that you make with it. Thank you for sharing and I may try it with the lemon and salt. Hope to see you in the comments section again soon! Cheers 🍻
Not a cubs fan but love this beer...I'm in Southern Illinois so it's still around but not like it use to be...unfortunately since all these nasty fruity drinks and ultra light beers have come around its taken shelf space for beer like this...yes I'm a cardinals fan who drinks old style...the world is a strange place. Budweiser is fine too but always had a thing for this beer...however if you can find STAG in your area try that out. When going for American larger beer that is my go to....
I understand, heck I’m a Cubs fan and my favorite player is Ozzie Smith. I have had stag, but you can’t get it near here. I will be looking for it to do a review soon. And yes, all those other beers in my opinion are just taking up valuable real estate lol. Hope to see you in the comments section again soon! Cheers 🍻
You folks did such a great job on this! I have relocated to GA, so where in the South have you found this? When I go home I put a case in my bag and check it at O'Hare and hope it doesn't explode lol. Take care!
Thanks. It wasn’t easy to find until recently. One day I just saw it at my local liquor store. I was stoked. I understand bringing beer back. I bring beer from just about every place I travel to. Hope to see you in the comment section again soon. Cheers 🍻
@@Beeradventurer Hey brother no problem!! I live in Alabama and make an occasional "beer run" to Atlanta just for the "Old Style"!! I love it and wished it was more available in the South!!!! Cheers!!🍻

The great thing about cheap adjunct macrolagers is they remind me I'd my childhood in the 1980s.
90s for me :)

Honestly, I feel like it’s an underrated and underappreciated beer. I enjoy it.
as an illinois native, this and miller high life, those are the only beers i usually get unless I want to try something new.
@Chiamori I completely understand. Two get go to beers. Hope to see you in the comments section again soon! Cheers 🍻

Right on 🤘🏻🍻
Where did you get those glasses? They remind me of glasses at a bar in the up, where Old Style was also consumed heavily
@therimeweavershow honesty I am not sure. I have tons of glasses. I was a bartender for decades and also enjoy collecting them. I get them from all over.
My dad used to drink this beer so I tried it I like it, he used to drink it with lemon and salt so Gooooood thy it😁😁😁😁😁😁

Tastes almost exactly like Pabst blue ribbon
I’ve never tried them back to back. Maybe I should.
@Planet of the Idiots you’re right. We need to do this. Thanks for reminding me. Hope to see you in the comments section again soon! Cheers 🍻
