    If anyone wants me to ever cover any specific things on any bike I own, or can possibly rent, let me know. Always happy to try and help.
    While I don't cover any particular bike, I really do think these questions are way more important to cover than a specific bike!

    I'm an older rider getting back into it after many years. When I got my license was in the days when you rode around the block and they just gave it too you, not too much skill involved. Basically am like a new rider have ridden a royal enfield interceptor for the last 2 yrs which I like. Love the z900 rs but do you think the power would still be a bit much, wondering what it feels weight wise as well it's a couple of kg lighter than the interceptor.
    Enjoying your channel 👍

      I got my Z900RS in '21 after several decades away from riding. My last new bike was a GPZ900R (A2)! I did consider something smaller to ease myself back in (a 660 Trident), but figuring this purchase would be a one and done decided otherwise. For me it's just about perfect. I've since done 14K recreational miles and have no regrets whatsoever.

      I'm going to echo SJK, I think especially with the 2 years back you'd be absolutely fine. It's a very well mannered bike the Z. That said it is pretty much double the power to weight of the RE, but, you're not a 18 year old head case so shouldn't really be an issue, plus the bulk of that power is higher up, so, like I said, very well mannered if you want it to be :)
      Welcome back to bikes to both of you also :)

    I want a Hayabusa. I want a GSX1400. I want an MT09 or 10. I want all of the bikes.

      This is my literal issue. Thankfully I'm now out of space so it's controlled me but I want too many bikes.

    Took a new mt07 for a spin yesterday. Great bike and very different from my Magna that I've been spinning around on the last few years. This was the first new bike I rode and it's easy to see how far they have come in 30 years. It's light, breaks are great and it's easy to maneuver. Having said all that, I'm more comfortable on my magna, the throttle is less twitchy and the riding position suits me better. Each to their own I guess.

      That's that modern throttle mapping. I've yet to find one that is even close to a good carbed bike. I miss my Magna, I'll ship it over here if we decide to stay long term.

    I totally agree with ya.... As I've bought bikes I loved but then for my use not remotely practical. Happy New Year to you too.
    The big Super T is almost perfect but I'm a little fella, so hight is my only issue but I'm good with one footing it 😊
    Great video as always 👍🏻

      And then you love them but they just don't last as long, unless you're me and just end up with way too many bikes. :D Ah once you're experienced enough I feel like you can get away with something that doesn't fit as well, especially as you learn to read the terrain you're stopping on etc.
      Thank you sir :)

    Good vid. I'm in NC, Cary area, just curious what area you were riding in? Also, winter riding gear - I highly recommend Ewool vest and gloves. I ride on some fairly cold days, and stay just about as warms as if in a car. Just got back from a short night ride a few minutes ago actually.

      Well! I was riding from eagle rock back down to Clayton, I live in the Clayton area :) I had RST stuff in Ireland and it was amazing, here I just hadn't ever bought properly warm stuff, now I'm ok going to work anything above 32, I generally don't risk anything below freezing just in case there's ice.

    Hi . I love the Z900 a true classic and one that will live on . I think that the Z900 would suit most mature riders. I am looking for a new bike and have ridden for over 40 years and have owned everything at this point . Its so difficult to make the decision . I prob going to end up with a brand new bike for touring and another for a bit of fun. As you are well aware fuel now over here back home is crazy money. There's so many bikes out there now at very low prices. Used is now a dirty word . When you can buy a bike for 10k with 3 years warranty and all of the parts fitted out of the shop makes you think .

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  14 часов назад

      I think most bikes are fine for any mature rider, I don't mean age either I mean experience when I say mature. Best of luck with whatever you do pick :) Nothing like bike shopping :D
      It's crazy expensive, last I was home it was 1.88 per litre which is absolutely mad considering how cheap it is here. Used is a dirty word? How so?
      Yeah buying with a warranty makes a lot of sense for a lot of people!! Especially if they don't have space to work on stuff themselves.

    Is it a product of modern culture this uncertainty, this need for validation, or is it just me?🤣 I don't remember talking to anyone about my decision to buy a motorbike, or which motorbike to buy. There was no Interweb then and I had never seen Motor Cycle News. None of my then friends had motorbikes. In later years I had conversations about the finances with then partners/wives about the finances before I bought a bike. Perhaps we are overloaded with information these days. It creates self-doubt and uncertainty. Another good talking point video. Thank you. 👍

      @TheGorillaBiker  2 дня назад +1

      I think it's even just too much information, and like I said, too many people telling you xyz is definitely the absolute best and everyone should get it.
      I also think not enough people think about it enough, about what they actually want and can afford yano. I know you do, I do, so we're generally happy with the bikes we get 😂 Just trying to help people to be able to make their own decisions.
      Yes exactly, information overload is definitely an issue. Plus as I said there really aren't any bad options anymore so that doesn't help either 😂 Thanks :)

    I am in Galway and wish you all of the best . BTW Stevie Mac in Galway the best bike tech ever and a very nice guy. Just subed and am looking forwards to watching your streams . Great stuff . As you know bikes over in Ireland are mostly just a toy not like the rest of Europe. I have noticed that the more mature riders are far more prominent at the moment and we need the younger gens to come on board . 👍👍👍Good Advice 👍👍👍

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  14 часов назад

      Thanks! Always loved Galway. I would honestly not agree with the toy thing tho, most of the people I used to ride with, including myself, used them as primary transport, way cheaper than running a car. Young people do not seem to want to learn tho, that is sad, if I could change it I would!

    Had plenty of motorcycles, mostly japanese, but the KTM 690 SMC R and the 1290 Super Duke R (covering both ends of the spectrum) is pretty damn close to perfect.

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  День назад

      Both class bikes, I've ridden the 690, never the super duke, but I have ridden the super adventure!
      Not sure why but I've always just defaulted back to buying a Japanese bike when it comes to my own money. Probably due to me being more comfortable with fixing them.

    I tell people the best bike for you is one that if you look back at it and grin like an idiot, you have the right one. But like you said, if you struggle riding it it probably wont make you grin anymore. So a more common sense approach to a bike should prevail. But since when did we buy a bike to be practical/ sensible?
    Claton looks nice. i am like you. The first thing i look at is the size of the garage/shed.

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  14 часов назад

      I agree tho, I'd be disappointed if I didn't love looking at my bike. Buuuut at the same time, like with the CBF1000, I think it looks better and better the more it does a job really well if that makes sense. I don't really, but then again I did end up with a Vstrom 1000 instead of a GSXR 1000, so it definitely does play some part, even subconsciously :)
      It's a nice spot, especially compared to a lot of other places around here. Hahaha 100%, it's all you need!

    I started with a KYMCO 150i Scoot Scoot. Next, I wanted a Honda cb300f, and I got it used. When I got into an accident fell oof my bike due to women driver's and was out for couple years. I was able to get me the same bike but a little bigger a cb500f, used again with a great deal. I enjoy it a lot and a little more power is so welcomed to carrying my 380Ib butt. Meow I dream of getting a NEW motorsickle. I know what I want and it's a Yamaha MT10, or a Honda cb1000 hornet (if the dang thing is released to the states). Those are my dream bike. I hope to get it before I turn 50 years old.

      Sorry to hear about your accident, glad you're back on a bike now. The CB500 platform is such a good engine in general. Any of it's forms impress me. The MT10 is a fun bike, I've ridden one, very bloody different to a CB500 tho :D Apparently no Hornet here so far......which is honestly madness if they don't bring it here.
