      I completed my whole national dex with the free version of Pokémon Home in 2021. Takes a lot of trades with the mobile version, but I had fun along the way. When only the mythicals were missing, some friends helped me complete. I got my own Magearna then, and BTW I used her to conquer this Sceptile!

    • @TheDyingFox
      @TheDyingFox 2 месяца назад

      @@PoffinScientist Good Stuff!
      I should get to try completing the National Dex that way too, or at least get all the possible ones into Pokémon Sword/Scarlet/Diamond/Arceus for more future options in Raid Event.
      Makes me happy that they provide a free online trade option in Pokémon Home, even if it is limited, unlike Nintendo Online.

    Feeling like the unaware clefable is the best option, but this EV set is a bit off
    I did max Hp max def with modest nature, with shell bell and the unaware ability, since the sp def is wasted for only leaf storm
    Moonblast, calm mind, protect and moonlight
    Moonblast first 3 turns, even if you take the leaf storm, gain some hp with it
    It will reset stats before turn 4, so after the reset, tera and protect to avoid ability cancellation, then start calm mind and moonlight in between until +6
    To be safe around crits, you need to be above 145 hp, which means that from full hp, u would moonlight every 2 calm minds.
    After reaching +6 just moonblast while being above 145 hp, you will recover enough hp to keep going. Timewise you will be with the timer about the Sceptile p
    Obviously double crits will most likely make you faint, most like any other raid, and please dont try with arvoliba as a teammate

    Taunt Annihilape works every time. With or without an intimidate partner. Taunt turn 1, Bulk Up, Rage Fist before and after the stat resets, Sceptile can be around 60% health when it sets up the shield. I can win with over 50% of the timer remaining. Just don't get crit by Leaf Blade.

    Azumaril was pretty good if you run it solo, just killed him online with gogoat. Edit: Just solo’d with gogoat. Tera Fairy; sap sipper; shell bell; Bulk up, leech seed, mud-slap, play rough. 252 HP, 252 Defense, 4 attack. First 3 turns mud-slap, Tera and leech seed, wait for stat reset, bulk up to +6 attack +6 defense, spam play rough, collect new poke. Metronome might be better than shell bell not sure.

    I used a Pokemon that is readily available on the base game.
    Avalugg - Ice Tera
    252 Def, 252 Atk, 6 HP
    Held Item: Covert Cloak - to avoid Breaking Swipe from lowering attack
    Moveset:
    Avalanche - Since Sceptile is always faster, this will always have a x2 damage
    Iron Defense - For insane defense making it easy to tank all of Sceptile's attack (and none of its attacks is super effective on Avalugg anyways. lol). I know I have curse, but Iron Defense makes it faster to build Defense and tank the damage.
    Curse - To boost attack
    Recover - To regen when HP goes halfway (used probably twice only coz Avalugg is so tanky. lol)
    Turns:
    First 2-3 turns or until Sceptile nullifies player stats, focus on building tera charge with Avalanche
    Once Sceptile is done nullifying player stats, do not terastalize yet, alternately use Iron Defense and Curse until you're on +6 Def and +3 Atk --then you can terastalize.
    Once terastalized, spam Avalanche. I probably only used 3 Avalanche to break its ridiculously long shield bar, and the rest is history.
    Note: at turn 0, Sceptile might use Leaf Storm on you and you'll faint, but that's fine. It won't use it again after that coz its Special Attack will be lowered.

    I finally did it, and it was Annihilape that was MVP, not what I was hoping to use. So hopefully, no Gen 10 starter or Dragon is part Ghost or Fighting as it earned a spot on a future team for me.
    My Annihilape Build:
    Adamant Nature
    Level: 100
    Stats:
    HP: 364
    Attack: 345
    Defence: 224
    Speed: 218
    Spl Def: 233
    Spl Attk: 147
    Ability Defiant (for use against Breaking Swipe)
    Item: Leftovers
    Moves:
    Bulk Up
    Rage Fist (PP=16)
    Taunt
    Screech
    Move 1 Taunt
    Moves 2, 3, 4 Screech
    Move 5 Rage Punch (hoping for the Breaking Swipe beforehand) this will whipe out about a quarter of Sceptile's HP.
    I died a few times, but the first Rage Punch took a lot of HP from it, giving me time to give up for reviving, but it was close.
    Defiant triggered a few times, and that saved the raid for me. One Bulk Up gives you some room to activate. Defiant, you could spam Bulk Up to give you extra HP room, but I didn't need it, so spammed Rage Punch.
    You may not need to Tera into Ghost for extra power, I lost my Tera as Sceptile got its second attack in before my next attack for a 2HKO.
    Drain Punch could be a good call. But I used Leftovers and re-rolled the AI trainers to get Gardevior's Life Dew.
    Sceptile does have Thunder Punch and Earthquake (Ten Raids and I saw it once, it liked Thunder Punch more.) I am not sure why it didn't have Acrobatics, it would have been a pain if it spammed Dragon Dance and Acrobatics.

    I tried the Clefable strat. but used a bold nature, and was able to use calm mind more without worrying about damage.
    Edit: I start with three moves, mix of Draining Kiss and Moonblast, which gives me time to Tera and use calm mind if hit with leaf storm. The Sceptile should use stat removal and ability block, use protect, then mix Calm mind and Draining Kiss till Sp.ATK and Sp.DEF are Maxed. Finish the battle by Mixing Moonblast and Draining Kiss again. This leaves me between 30-50% of time remaining.

    This was really helpful, thank you!
    I made one modification that you might want to be aware of- the held item Clear Amulet keeps your pokemon’s ability (as well as stat changes), so my Clefable held a Clear Amulet and learned Defense Curl instead of Protect. That combined with your combo made this a super easy solo raid!

    Seems like it’ll take awhile with just draining kiss considering Sceptile critical hit potential.
    I might try something else consistency aside but ultimately I’m sure I’ll go with this.
    I had Swampert and Blissey for so long before Emboar’s second weekend just to catch it. Hence I really don’t need materials etc
    Honestly I’ve put so much time and love into this generation and I’m quite set on anything I’d need at this point.
    I’m just still gutted that performance wise this generation didn’t look or work at a level to match my enjoyment level.

    • @Osirus
      @Osirus  2 месяца назад

      Mainly the reason, fairy feather or fairy plate would work just as well just not as accessible in the early game.

  • @Hyouretzusan
    @Hyouretzusan 2 месяца назад +1

    I did it with Skeledirge, and pretty consistent (about 80% success rate).
    Ability: Unaware
    Held Item: Shell Bell
    EV's: 252 Sp.A, 252 Def, and the rest in HP
    Teratype: Fairy
    Moveset (Edited for improvement):
    - Torch Song
    - Rest/Slack Off
    - Protect
    - Tera Blast
    Strategy (Edited for improvement):
    Just attack with Torch Song, and the Damage that you will receive will be minimal. When you're finally at +6 on Sp.A, terastallyze and start attacking with Tera Blast.
    If at any moment you find yourself in a pinch, use Rest to recover and a Heal Cheer on the next turn to wake up early. Or if you prefer to use Slack Off, then keep an eye on your own HP when it reaches 50%.
    I added Protect since Sceptile will hit pretty hard when it resets stats.
    Also, avoid to have the Arboliva companion, as it will buff Plant moves from Sceptile.

    • @Hyouretzusan

      Use Shell Bell as your equipped object.

    • @Hyouretzusan
      @Hyouretzusan 2 месяца назад +1

      In fact... You wouldn't even need Sleep talk.
      Just Rest, and then use a Heal Cheer on the next turn.

    • @JustinRuggles
      @JustinRuggles 2 месяца назад +1

      can also learn slack off via egg move

    • @Hyouretzusan
      @Hyouretzusan 2 месяца назад +1

      Indeed! I completely forgot. But Slack Off could be more convenient than Rest, since you won't lose a turn on the cheer heal.
      And you can adjust the strategy for the 50% recovery of the Slack Off. Or even have both Slack Off and Rest in the same moveset!

    • @dalaxdercrisper957
      @dalaxdercrisper957 2 месяца назад

      You don't have to worry about Arboliva partner Ai since Spectile ability is unburden which only boost speed stats if held item is present to use. Making it the Tera boss ability useless since Tera boss don't have held item

    My brother came up with a double dialga strategy
    (Clefable, Azumarill, Sylveon and Ceruledge all failed, too much damage and Sceptile has thunder punch for sap sippers)
    Dialga: tera steel
    Moveset: Metal Sound, Iron Defense, Dragon Pulse, and Flash Cannon on 1 & Trick Room on the other. Trick Room to counter dragon dance speed boosts, Iron Defense to counter the attack buffs.
    Turn 1: Metal Sound from both dialgas
    Turn 2: One Dialga does Metal Sound, the other uses trick room (keep an eye on trick room's turn count)
    Turn 3: Iron Defense
    Turn 4+ Dragon Pulse/Iron Defense & Heal Cheer as needed

    Just tested this and beat him first try with a lvl 100 magearna thats has been hyper trained with 252 in spec attack and 252 in either health or defense with ability soul heart and a move set of fleur cannon draining kiss iron defense and for the last move either calm mind or misty terrain and holding a covert cloak so thunder punch doesnt paralyze you and thats the build i even got knocked out once at the end of the raid due to a crit hit from leaf blade came bac in got three soul hearts to activate and finished him with a fleur cannon. Its the perfect build if you can get a magearna oh and of course this is an offline solo build
