    Thank you for the tutorial. The only thing I find hydrangeas to be very moody and sad-looking even when they're in the water.

      Hydrate the top by soaking it in floral water. When you've determined the stem length, dip the stem(crosscut 1st!) and dip in a spice called alum. It stops air going to the head, which is whatmakes it droop.

    What timeline do you recommend for purchasing the flowers at a supermarket and assembling the bouquet for a Saturday event? Thanks!

    • @Flowersbyalexis
      @Flowersbyalexis  Год назад +2

      I there! I typically buy my flowers 3 days in advance and give them a couple of days to open up to their prettiest fullest form. Wednesday or Thursday.
      I do recommend storing your flowers somewhere cold which can simply just be turning on the AC down to 60 degrees or colder if your AC gets colder.

    I have trouble with keeping a vice grip on the stems with my left hand and I don’t realize it till it cramps and aches 😅 is that a weird habit or do you know a good way to break myself of that??

    • @Flowersbyalexis
      @Flowersbyalexis  Год назад +1

      try this: tie off each section of flowers as you get done so you can give your hand a rest. I use rubber bands these days!

    I love hydrangeas- but how do you keep them to last for the whole nite and not wilt ?

      Hi there! You could try spraying the flowers with crowning glory floral preservative spray

    Around how much do the flowers costs for the first type of bouquet?

    • @Flowersbyalexis
      @Flowersbyalexis  Год назад +2

      I got the roses 12 stems for $12.99 at trader joes
      Hydrangea was $5 for 3 stems
      eucalyptus bunch $3
      $20 to make instead of $60-90 to buy from a flower shop
