Fawns dont have to be tagged until you handle them in the fall at a breeding farm. If its a hunting ranch, deer can breed naturally and they do not have to be tagged. If there were any questions about the deer coming from a farm, a simple $75 DNA test can be done and if it was born at a farm, somewhere in its liniage there will be a buck that is registereed in the DNA records. It would be easy to prove if it was or wasnt wild.

Thank you for the clarification.
