I did The Kiss earlier this year and it was totally worth the cost. Not having to kit up was a huge time-saver, and the tools were great, the canvas stunning and the finished project hangs in our living room. Since I'm putting a lot of time and effort into these pieces, I do my best to stay away from crap. It's sad that many crafters who are trying to save money don't do their homework; you get what you pay for, IMHO.
This is great to hear! Yes, the quality is fantastic, and I actually think Diamond Dotz is among the most affordable of the higher quality kits. I think for a kit the size of The Kiss, I would be inclined to agree that the time saved by not having to kit up could be worth it!
@@knits4sanity I ordered a piece from Painterbox in Germany...on August 5 and still don't have it. That's their MO. It's a mom-and-pop operation with apparently amazing quality, and you pay for it. Shipping is costly, but it's worth it, to me. The work that is shown on the FB site is out of this world. I'm 60 this year and I think that for the amount of time and effort it takes to complete a diamond painting, I want the highest quality and renderings possible, but that's just me. Happy Holidays!
I feel like the gold pen should have been the smaller special tip, there needs to be a legend on paper or the bottles should have been labeled with the symbol. I feel like the generic tools are an insult for the price. Esp when you consider the upgrade the DAC did to their kits at no additional charge. I feel like diamond dots people dont actually diamond paint, and when you consider how many people have certainly asked them for labels or legends, they clearly do not listen to their customers feed back.
I have to agree with you. I am particularly disappointed that the microdot pen is the cheapest of all of them. The canvas and drills, however, are great quality. Given that Diamond Dotz falls under the larger umbrella of Leisure Arts, there is some likelihood that the people who run the DD division are not Diamond painters themselves.
It is a cute image, but, i feel at 30% off, it is still massively overpriced. If it had more detail or max colors, then maybe. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
I can appreciate that view. I’m hoping having it pre-kitted and the added detail provided by the microdots will make it worth it for me. Stay tuned for the post review! Merry Christmas! 🎄🎁
Great review. Really appreciate it. I saw one lady who was doing a master kit and she ran out of at least five colors. That turned me off but deep down I really want to try one of these 😂 Merry Christmas 🎄
Oh, yikes! 😳 I sincerely hope I don’t run into that! I’m not starting just yet, but I’m hoping in a week or so to begin. Deep down I REALLY want to love this, but I’m just not sure. Stay tuned for the post review! Merry Christmas! 🎄🎁
Wonderful video! I was curious as to this kind of kit and hearing your real opinion is so helpful. . I would try one but none of the images they offer really interest me.
Yep! I make mention of that A LOT. I wish one of the nicer, more comfortable pens had the micro dot placer, particularly as this kit is VERY heavy with the microdots.
I think they meant masterclass to mean it's a premium, or "master" class of kit designed for all, and not just experienced DP'ers, hence the detailed instructions for those who have never picked up a drill pen. I honestly feel, that besides the inclusion of micro-dots, and being pre-kitted, its all just a gimmicky way of raising the price, and packaging it in a way to make people think they're getting something more special than what they really are. I'm not sure that it's even worth what I'd pay for a typical DAC kit, let alone $100+ for an image that size. I'm curious to see how the tinier drills will fit and line up into the grooves in the tray designed for normal sized drills, something tells me that's gonna be a complete pain.
I stand by my assessment that there is no way I would pay full price for this. I have started working on it now, and … I’m not sure. I will definitely be posting a follow up!

I’m glad it was helpful. Thank you! Happy Holidays!
i did one of the masterclass kits and learned to not loose or break the green pen its the small end for the micro dots :)

I never knew there was such a thing as this. Thanks for sharing.
Of course! I was happy to do it.
Very interesting kit.
Yes. Interesting is a good word.
