    who care's if he's still under contract. He can be fired even if he's under contract. Kraft has to act in the best interest of the team. It's not about Bill, it's about the team. Kraft has to fire him, there is no other way but to fire him on the spot. He has demonstrated that he is a terrible GM. Just look at his people decisons over the last 3 years.

      If Belichick chose to retire, the Krafts save $25 million. If the Krafts are able to sell his services to another team, they'll probably pay some of the $25 million.
      If Bill is fired, he's owed all $25 million/ year for the remainder of his contract. And given how we passed on Lamar's $30 million/ year contract, DeAndre' $13 million and Jacobi's $11 million, I shudder to think who we might skip out on in this free agency when we're paying someone tens of millions to coach the Falcons or Cowboys...

    • @Eggy79
      @Eggy79 10 месяцев назад

      But the $25 million they have to pay him to NOT be the coach is his leverage, that's the point.

      @@DWilliams-ce8nb Agreed. But regardless, if they fire him, the Pats have to pay Bill $25M NOT to coach, so that's why he has all the leverage, unless he doesn't have a no-trade clause, which he probably does.

    Paying out a 1 year contract has to 'chump-change' for the Krafts, based on Television revenue they get each year. College coaches get canned every year with big bucks in play.Bill is all about Bill. He's read too many of his press release over the years. Please just fire him!

      @Boudica234 10 месяцев назад

      @danielperry6557 Whst leverage does Kraft have? Bill says he is under contract and intends to stay. That gives Kraft 2 choices. Fire Bill and pay him or keep him. Kraft cannot control where Bill goes if he fires him and can't hold up another team for draft picks. Just the fact that the Patriots have said NOTHING today after Belichick's press conference tells u they are in a tough spot. Bill is going to force Kraft to fire him which means Bill gets to go wherever he wants with no strings attached.

    Not the same as the Jets situation. Then, the Jets just signed Bill and obviously they wanted him to start coaching the Jets going forward. Now, Bill is not wanted and on top of that super expensive for a coach/GM that seems to have lost his ways and single handedly ruin a former great football team. Very different.

    We know he has 1 more year left at $25M.
    Josh mcdaniels had like 5 years left for $55M and he was fired I'm early November by the raiders.
    This isn't rocket science- kraft would have to fire him...what's the big deal? We're they gonna get together and sign songs during their parting of ways? This just seems like such an over talked about situation. It's not complicated- belichick is under contract for 1 more year and his contract says that he had full control over the team. We know that- that's not a new revelation

      I want Bill nowhere near this upcoming fmdraft with such a high draft pick. It's time to move on. Get rid of Bill, Zappe and Mac Jones, Belichick's sons who only got in due to nepotism, etc. Time to clean house and start fresh.
