This is what it’s all about…….super talented musicians every single one of them, demonstrating their supreme talent to the world. I miss ‘real’ music like this.
Great concert! Great vocals, great background vocals, great band and props to the video crew capturing it esp. the hardworking camerapeople; interestingly, this is one of the earliest uses of a Steadicam (around the same time of the 1980 Grammy Awards which used one too), gotta love how said Steadicam glides on the stage with the action smoothly. As in earlier poster noted, this is the concert where Peabo flubbed a line on "You Are My Heaven" but he kept the flow going and he did a great job overall not too far removed from the passing of Mr. Hathaway. One more thing... mad props to the male backup vocal here... yes, Mr. Luther :)
Fabulousness Roberta Flack…Peabo Bryson… Representing Donny Hathaway…Luther vandross & 20 ft from Stardom Lisa Fischer Background it Up!…💯🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥Audience took too long to praise this Awesomeness
The great Buddy Williams on drums! along with: Garry King - bass/MD, George Wadenius - guitar, Ed Walsh - synth, (yours truly) Barry Miles - keyboards, and Yvonne Lewis/Brenda White King/Luther Vandross - backing vocals. Ontario Place, Toronto - May 1980
No lo puedo creer ??? Luther Vandross en los coros, cuando Miss Flack estaba en los cuernos de la luna. El 1er disco que tuve en mi vida fue', Me estás matando suavemente con tu canción.
Ha! I was thinking the same thing... I believe Peabo wanted to make good in this one after his flub on "You are my heaven" and he more than made good indeed!

Ms. Flack was bouncing in those heels, directing the band, pumping up the crowd, and STILL had awesome voice control and energy. 💜💫✨🤌🏾🔥🔥🔥

Whoa! I was listening to the _Oasis_ album last year, and fell down a research rabbit hole. I ended up on your Wikipedia article. *Barry Miles!*
Y’all “toe it up” that tour. Everyone I know that saw y’all here in Cleveland at the Front Row STILL have a smile at the memory.
@barryboy9438 Mr. Miles about how long did you tour with Ms. Flack. I know at least into the 90s. But was it longer?

Yes. That album is 🔥🔥🔥🤌🏾 One of my absolute favorite albums and certainly one of my favorite live albums.
Choir members don't even dress as chaste today and their music is nowhere near this inspiring
7:42 Luther demonstrating his vocal range
That's Peabo Bryson, not Luther!
@@ikehayes9252 Luther is singing backup on stage.

Ha! I was thinking the same thing... I believe Peabo wanted to make good in this one after his flub on "You are my heaven" and he more than made good indeed!
Rumor has it that Drake's parents met at this exact concert.
