No disrespect to young Mr O'dell... but I sure do enjoy watching 'The ol man' 😉 Been watching your channel for years David.. keep up the good work Sir!
Thank you for showing us through the foundation plan. I had never seen one before, and did not realise they were so detailed. Thank you for teaching me something new.

Good looking clean job wish our addition plans inspections in phoenix didn’t have such strict overkill on plans seems we make additions built to outlast existing house foundations so much rebar and concrete ugh 😩
Great job, I love your videos. Quick question. How big does a wall need to be in order to get inspection for building and safety. I want to make a planter 4 ft high. Do I need inspection for that?
There are two contracts (one immediate, the second 2024 delayed because of LADBS). Immediate: Demolish 3 top block lines(59’ long) and replace with 4 new block lines using 6x8 Angelus Harvest Split Face and Color, Smooth Block (I'll buy block from Angelus). Mortar type S 823 SpecMix, with 1/2 rebar. Reason for demolish? Contractor used the wrong type of block. The house is in Boyle Heights, off the 5 freeway near DTLA and I’m the owner. Roger
The second contract is a basement addition which involves escavating and pouring new foundation walls and floors. LADBS just pulled a bunny out of their asses by requiring a methane test, after going through 4 plan check sessions. Just hired contractor to do that test, and we hope that final plans will be approved by middle of 2024.
Those are real concrete Carpenter's hands I want you to know that and everybody else needs to recognize those are old school hands Hammer & Nails no impact wrenches or impact hammers😂😂😂😂😂😂 OSS ?
David Odell the master.

This guy is the best in the west. That Bobcat operator couldn’t pull this off.
Another smooth operation, well done. The homeowner will be able to park a tank on that!!
Maybe Starship launch pad
Nice to see David again on the job site.

Great job Mr. Odell and team 💕👏👍 top notch as always. I liked the matching wall work too

Beautiful foundation Dave! It will last forever.
I think so too!
I keep sending people to your videos occasionally...you, Bondo, and Mike Day.
You're the best!
Welcome back, David. We were afraid you’d retired off to AZ.
No, I can't afford to do that.

Anyone else an expert in concrete because of this channel? You should see me, the smugness, the judgement.
And I've never poured concrete in my life.
Maybe someday

Any wall over 3' high
Very solid, if not very much overdone :) ...but better to be on a safe side, for possible double story
Very true!
Outstanding job!
Thank you very much!
Quality work brother.👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thanks 👍
Great job, as always!!!
Beautiful work!

Well done man. Are you able to work in Boyle Heights, 1 mile east of Downtown LA?
possibly

Off set on side in our area way to small from property line.
5' is the minimal here
DANG pea gravel foundation.......big rock always....... ticking time bomb
I don't think so
I enjoy your videos, I know it is a pain, but it would be nice to see the finished addition.
Noted!
I always like to use Schedule 80 on pressure side of the sprinkler valve. Better to be safe!
Good idea
overkill on inspection much?
I concur
Better than failing
@@JeanRoithis!! Foundation is the most important part of the construction process. If the foundation gets fucked up the whole addition gets fucked up
Yes it’s annoying you have to get your own house and property inspected. If you own it how can they tell you what you can and can’t do
@@Lexidezi225because you can sell it
Respect you hard worker!
TY
Those Cali inspections are brutal, do the inspect what you eat for lunch or if the tires on your trucks are good.
Yes and your stool sample
Love seeing my Mexican brothers seat and enjoying lunch

WOW that is a lot of concrete for a single story house.
I concur
Maybe planning for a two story in the future…….

Pretty cool. I don't think that addition will be moving any time soon.
me too
Happy Thanksgiving
Happy holidays!
What's the setback code for the property line?
5'
Nice monolithic pour.

Very nice, good work very informative 👍
Thanks for liking
👍 Happy Thanksgiving
Nice video. I cannot do that in my neighborhood......Bylaws require 50ft between all structures.
That's insane
@@OdellCompleteConcrete Private FL neighborhood with with huge lots.
Thanks for sharing
My pleasure
прекрасная работа. как всегда

I like everything...but I think you should saw-cut that slab so it will crack on the saw-cuts even though the slab maybe covered.
225 sq.ft is maximum for foundation cuts.
This 180 sq.ft. but its still possible to do,
Nice job
Thank you! Cheers!
Have you noticed Calif is restricting sprayer heads?
Yes, and lawn
City mix all the way!
This is better then City mix
@@OdellCompleteConcrete excellent
What do you mean when you say "The homeowner kept it wet all night?" Is this on purpose? Thank you.
He kept the concrete wet as in spraying water on it. It makes the concrete much stronger as it cures.
He kept his wife wet all night 😂
👍👍
Stirrups?
Doesn't make sense
Hey Uncle David I take it you used J-B Weld😂😂😂😂😂
No, Simpson XP

What is that
Seems like a pointless addition. Nice work though.
