Awesome bro!! Glad I found your channel def looking at getting into the biz. Def sticking with this channel!! From Josh to Josh thanks and blessings!!! 🙏🏽
I haven’t found anyone who sells that exact one but you can get the 3 stage that does the same thing and a little bit longer lasting. windowcleaner.com/unger-hydropower-ultra-3-stage?pt=EG
Hey josh been kickn it around the idea of starting a pannel cleaning business i paint and do bodywork need to get away from the over spray and bondo dust lol
That’s what I did for 8 years! I totally get it! It’s waayyy better man. You will love it just make sure you do your research! Thanks for your feedback!!
I have solar and was thinking. About starting a solar cleaning business here where I live since it’s becoming more and more popular and not many services for it around here.
working for an electrical company as an apprentice they do solar and was thinking a little side hustle for extra money would be good this video helped heaps but atm that equipment is abit out of my price range
I am not sure where to buy that exact one but I know the 3 stage is available windowcleaner.com/collections/quick-order/products/unger-hydropower-ultra-3-stage
Nice job man it seems that you take pride in your work. Really smart to record your jobs, customers love to point blame to get free fixes. One suggestion would be to secure your ladder. Guardian ladder straps are great, I use them every day while installing solar. Can you provide links to where you got your equipment? Looking to expand my business into this niche.
There are many places out there to get similar equipment. I can’t find the exact system I had for this video but you can get a lot of stuff from windowcleaner.com 🤗
I charge $10 a panel and you can’t buy that exact one but you can buy a step above that one on this link. windowcleaner.com/collections/unger-systems/products/unger-hydropower-ultra-3-stage?pt=EG
Yes in the summer we start as early as possible and do not typically clean solar panels during the hotter parts of the day. During the winter it doesn’t matter. We normally have to schedule the winter jobs for later in the day because the roof is froze over.
great job man we do same thing little north of you. we don't clean windows just panels we do it a bit different but still learning. 3 points of contact is rule of thumb for sure, maybe we can do a collab video... good job dude new subby here
Thank you and great video, Joshua! What percentage of jobs do you utilize a harness, if ever? Shoes? What was the total flow in gpm of that job? When you said 'with water,' were you referring to a first rinse without DI or always DI? ty
We have clay tiles on the roof so most roofs there is no way to use a harness without damaging the roof. Every job is different. We use mettle waterproof, slip resistant boots all field employees are required to wear non Slip boots. Quicker to do it with DI but it will cost more. We do it with pure water but we have a very good purification system that is a RO/Di.
@@darlenetrejo3784 I ordered this system a very long time ago from Detroit Sponge but they do not sell this exact system anymore anywhere I know of. But they do have something similar. WindowCleaner.com is also a great source to get a purification system. I used the Tucker 4060 currently and I absolutely love it!! I got that from windowcleaner.com it is a bigger system but I save so much on resin with this system in the long run and I am able to use it 10 times more before changing filters. I hope that answers your question🤗
Before scrubbing. You can spray it on the panel I normally will mix it with water. Make sure not to let it set too long. I normally spray it on a few and then make sure to scrub all those down just to keep them wet and then scrub again and then rinse. Not all panels need solar gleam most of the time I just use pure water. 👍🏼
A majority of the time yes. I have used soap before solar gleam works great. I have used dawn platinum before as well. But maintenance jobs most of the time you can just use water
Same price. It is a lot of risk getting on roofs and the insurance is not cheap so we stick to the same price. Solar Panel Cleaning and window cleaning are separate.
Joshua, needs to learn where to step on a roof tile so he doesn't break them / I watched where his boots stepped and it's NOT in the correct spot / after that he's not too bad / I'm a Lic. Rain Gutter installer since 1977 / I know what I'm doing. Notice he steps in the center of the tiles ( NOT THE RIGHT SPOT ) step toward the end of the tiles where the overlap is / it's a lot stronger at that spot.
Since this video I have actually learned from a licensed roofer after breaking and paying for many tiles! You are correct thank you for your feedback! 🫡
Lol I have customers with all kinds of political views. All money spends the same. 😅 That’s why we don’t voice our opinion or attach it to the business. I learned over time never mix business with personal. The stress is unbearable and it’s about the work and service not politics.
Subscribed and Liked.....I've been doing window cleaning for a few years on the side Im on Instagram as @coast2coastcleaning_ looking to start doing solar soon
That’s real good advise about ‘walking lightly’ on the roof; like if you weigh 200 lbs., then just walk like you only weigh 160 lbs. Great idea! 👍🏼
🤣 I am saying don’t be stomping on peoples roof 😂
A the pole and scrub brush
After four minutes of climbing a ladder, I GAVE UP !!!!!
Just being detailed about our process 😅 I use these videos as training for my employees 🫡

Excellent vid mate.
Thank you so much my friend 🤗
I will certainly look into the go pro hero 9 black as well as Adobe premier. How is the go pro located as you work?
They make attachments to help get different angles for the go pro.
What size ladders do you typically carry
@@pumppanelpimpin7536 we have different sized ladders. Depends on the job. Best one I can recommend is the little giant Epic ladder

Do you need to wear rubber gloves in case the panels are broken and you might get shocked?
Where can I buy a Di tank like that? On Amazon maybe?
I am not sure where to buy that exact one but I know the 3 stage is available windowcleaner.com/collections/quick-order/products/unger-hydropower-ultra-3-stage
Do you turn the system off before you work you clean the panels. ?
What do you mean?
Do you turn the Solar system off before you clean it? Like turn the inviter off. To the disconnect. To the panel?
@@danethordsen8491 no need to turn them off as far as I know. I have never in the past.

Wow. Video answered and cleared up lots of the questions I had. I only have one. In the summer months to you adjust your hours due to heat?

Looking good
Thank you! 🤗
how much do you guys charge per square foot? thanks
We charge by the panel.👍🏼

Can I ask what water spray bottle you have attached to your hip? I need to find that exact product
Unger sprayer on a belt 👍🏼
Nice work. What kind of hoses do you use?
Thank you for your feedback Blake! Regular garden hose to the di. Di to the pole is a 5/16 XERO hose. 👍🏼

do you connect the DI tank to the water hose?
Main water source to bottom of Di Tank. A standard hose will usually work fine.
What type of brush, pole and DI water set up do you use?
On this video I am using the XERO Trad pole, Tucker Alpha scrubber, I have the tucker 4060. :)
Which tip style for the Trad Pole works with the Tucker Alpha scrubber? Thanks.

How much did you make on that 20 panel cleaning job??
He said $10 a panel for first time cleans during the video. They had 20 panels so he got $200 for 30 minutes of work.
