Welcome! These musical clips are from a large video collection that is now being converted from VHS/Beta to digital. There is some viewing quality loss from the original video source due to the age of the tapes, but the performances are preserved and still a joy to view. I'm finding many lost performances from vintage R&B, Soul, Pop, Broadway, Cabaret and other performances. This channel will be the Ed Sullivan channel for the digital generation, something for everyone to enjoy. This song says a lot about Peter Allen as a boy, not easy, and very sad, it was the only time he ever gave us a look at his childhood as it was a period he wanted to forget. Rest in Peace...
You are right. Years ago a two part movie for television was made. Brilliantly they showed the impact of Peter's father's death on the young boy. Really changed his life. Love Tenterfield Sadler. A masterpiece for me.

Yes, she handled it. I would have loved to hear (when she was looking for the lyrics) to hear her talk about Peter, how they met, and knowing him, instead of her work Gypsy and the witch face. But that's Bette. She made it work.

It's another Peter Allen song - I could Marry The Rain (it was written by Allen and Marc Shaiman, who - I could be wrong - is accompanying Midler on the piano)
