Royksopp make the best synth I've ever heard. Stunning modulation of timbre, melodies, themes, lyrics, sublime.
Cognitive dissonance also with the words lamenting the move away from nature while the clearly stunning synthesis plays on...
The juxtaposition of their music and lyrics in this song is striking. It's not the first song I hear from Royksopp, but it's my favorite by miles.
Vision One and Remind Me are both Nostalgic songs. LBP raised me better.
This song and a good number of their others are nothing short of masterpieces. They're definitely masters of this craft.

Unique music to a unique movie.
The songs tells the story from a different angle. "Tall buiding covering green with black, let us gaze upon the world we created and the changes we could not have foreseen".
Its not about robots becoming as beautiful as humans and killing them, on contrary is about the tragedy of humans forgetting our essence, who we are, behaving as soulless vessels without guidance, awaiting for someone to program us, to tell us what to do. Go to work, lunch break, go Sleep ad infinitum. No time to reconcile our mistakes.

this is the result of inspiration if you live in dark cold north norway with power scenery
hope you don't mind other comment: something about the chicker-chicker shaker rhythm (representing organic naturalism) and the wave folding synth bass (of advancing technology) that fits so well with the lyrics and your edit of the Ex Machina movie. A masterpiece all round
