Imagine if it just disabled the power entirely. You'd only have your flashlight, if even that, though maybe that's too much

This one happened to me in broad daylight while I was out searching for something that I accidentally chucked with great force across the map. I heard the noises play so I started trying to figure out where they were originating from only to realize that my vision was dimming. By the time I made it back to base, the fog had already started to roll in.

I had this event happen at night and then when the morning comes... I get the [BAD SUN] event. While also being actively pursued by forest spirits or something for multiple days. Yeah. It is fair to say that I lost my shit. The forest spirits were already scary enough, knocking over my curtains that I used to cover the basement.
I'm glad I'm not the only one using curtains to cover that basement entrance pffhaha. I get spooked just having it there.

I think I got Black Fog as my first event in game: I just started story mode and went inside the base, a little later the event started. I paid no attention to pitch black outside since I was still grasping the mechanics fresh after the tutorial (too focused on the computer) and just assumed nights are pitch black. The moment I noticed something was wrong were the "thumping noises" (to which, yet again, I paid little attention since I thought it was just part of the music. And if it wasn't, it would be best to just stay where I was, at the computer). Then I noticed I couldn't pause. Which again, due to inexpirience, I only found weird and carried on with downloading signals
had this event during the first night and i was so confused and terrified, i just sat at a corner and just waited for whatever thats gonna come for me until the fog ended
the first time I got it near the end of the fog I got hit with a blackout so imagine my immense fear as im now sitting in advanced darkness

Had a similar event where the sky turned red. Scared the shit outta me though this would scare me even more. Though there was also a meteor shower once which was actually really nice
I got the meteor shower immediately after the black fog event happened. It felt like the game was rewarding me for not crapping my pants.

Whenever I play this game, I do it in a voice chat with my friends. I was playing this game and I went afk to do some stuff and left the game running while a signal was downloading. When I tabbed back into the game, I got this event. Everything was dark, it sounded like something was out there to get me, and the part that scared me the most was I was unable to pause. I just had the player cower under the desk and I was freaking out for a good 20 minutes. I normally don't play horror games because of my anxiety problems, which is ironic being that I'm a horror artist, so it was a long ahh time since a game genuinely scared me like that. Everyone in the vc was just dead silent as I was freaking out like "WHAT IS HAPPENING?!"

I got black fog twice on the same save once, but the second time it didn't end, I couldn't pause and wound up generally bugged out.
I played for 20 minutes before quitting. It was the last release. First time was at dusk, second time in daylight!
Anyways good videos, it was nice seeing a further breakdown on the sleep deprivation monster.
i kinda put my most recent save down because I was trying to do the brick wall thing and then noticed something kept "running away" from base every time I reloaded and if I went outisde to chase it I couldn't pause.
It's not the antibreather or an ariral so that's, concerning. And it's a running sound too so it's not the bone freak, weird stuff!
well arirals do cause you to be unable to pause and theyre also the only other two legged entity i can think of that makes the default running-on-grass sound

I had my power go out and had unwanted visitors right before this, and I basically just climbed my radio tower and cowered in fear
I hope all of these events stay in the newer versions. I recently downloaded and started playing one of the newer versions and id hate to miss any of these events.
Generally they do, yes! Only joke events and the such are removed. This one is for sure still in the game.
speaking from the future, yes they do and it's still very scary.
This shit started happening to me when I first found the weird alien cylinder lodged between some stones (I think it was day 7). I didn't notice that it started happening until I was halfway to my base when I realized that it was getting unusually dark for middle of the day. Yeah so that was one scary ass experience, I love this game.

Got this event at night, when fixing satellite "Victor" and was driving home with my ATV. And still managed get to the base following signs !! 10/10 Scary as hell

I had this happen to me not long after met Sleep Deprivation Friend... had to take my headpbones off and step away from the keyboard to cope. Mosg terrifying thing that's ever happened to me in a game.

Not foot prints, It's a lighting bug with the server racks that make those black boxes appear when the player walks near them
One of my first time playing this game this event started while I was outside and at night to recover hash codes. I knew the light should have come in a few seconds but it didn't, I instead lost track on the path and started panicking not noticing the sound thinking it was just a random spooky soundtrack. all of a sudden I couldn't see 2 meters in front of me and I got surrounded by FUCKING EYES IN THE DARK STARING AT ME it was terrifing.
Had this event whilst going out to fix a server in the daytime. I went into the satellite when the sounds first started, and it was day and came back out, and it was pitch black. Needless to say, I hid in the corner until it went away.

Also if you go outside of your base during this event, you can see a distant light in front of you, you won't reach it even on the ATV because it always runs away.
this happened on the first day on my second playthrough, i had never seen it and i was so freaked out.
I got it at night when mr Antibreather was out and about, fucker scared the loving fuck out of me and threw my digital map across the landscape
Had this happen to me as I was going out to transformer 2 at sunrise. I got distracted by a discord message and jumped off my atv as it was moving, and lost it somewhere, so I just went up to the transformer without it, and planned to go find it when the sun came up. Looking at the sun I noticed how it looked strange - really dark orange - and then I noticed that the hills below were way too dark and getting darker. I spent the event cowering in the transformer room because I heard something moving in the dark... It was a pair of mannequins with poor timing.
Also when I got back to my base something had been moving my stuff around, so all in all, pretty spooky.
This makes the game look so similar to the original Containment Breach.
With the heavy bass thumping, makes me feel like its a reference to it
i had this happen as i was out at romeo at the far side of the map. i noticed the light getting dimmer as i was under the trees but i just thought it was because i was in a denser part of the forest, but when i approached the dish it got VERY dark and i booked it inside. luckily my atv had fuel but i had no idea what was gonna come so i just locked myself in the room with the server... eventually realizing i would have to face whatever was outside, i BOOKED IT to the atv and juist drove in any direction, pitch black only being able to see 3 feet in front of me

In my dark fog, I saw white eyes(many white eyes).
If there's anything I absolutely fear getting in this game,
is the Red Sky, and the *Black Fog*.
You being alone in the fog in this vast map is just chilling and makes my soul want to leave my body out of fear.
I really, really need Kerfus soon to be the one to deal with the Transformers.

you didn't get any white eyes looking at you from behind the trees I got fucking scared and lost in the woods by this event and I think the eyes looking at you is from a new update
this only ever happened to me once while playing the game. happened on one of my first times ever playing it, and I was so scared that I grabbed maxwell and threw myself into a makeshift bunker made of a desk that I just threw into the corner. It happened for a VERY long time though, like, majority of the night

My wildest black fog experience was in sandbox. I didn't used the cheat menu to spawn it, cause my goal was to find all keys, but - it just naturally happened on the first day. I was so confused
started playing today and got this event before I even scanned my first signal. At first I thought that it's just normal night time for the game (similar to how Arma3 has super dark nights where you cant see anything) but then it started getting really dark inside the building too, drowning out the artificial lights with a pure black void.
This was one of the first events that I experienced, I had seen other people experience it so I knew I had nothing to fear from it..

I just had this event, except that there were weird white lights dancing outside. Near the end of the event, a big white light beamed into the building. Idk what it was, but I heard the thumping and saw the black fog. Perhaps two anomalies at the same time?
When I had this event I had no clue it was random and thought it was to do with the day I was on. Anyway towards the end of the event, in fact just before it ended, I looked out the front window in the control room and I saw the two red eyes. Ruined my trousers.
First time I've had this happen, it started while I was getting server hashes and doing repairs, I got a little nervous as soon as the thumping started and gunned it back to base as soon as I was done
This was one of the first events i had in my playthrough and the whole time something was STARING AT ME out my fucking window in the forest the WHOLE time. Genuinly the most scared ive ever been in a game. Can only imagine the horror of being outside for it.
Imagine this combined with the new Wendigo event. Now thats nightmare fule.
I got it twice in an hour, the first time I got it was the first time I got the black hole (the actual black hole, not the singing angel looking thing) so I assumed this was like a special event that triggers when you get that signal. The second time it happened randomly but instead of cowering in the tower I decided to check what the event can do and when I scanned for a signal I got the black hole again. Most likely random but very interesting indeed.

At 2 minutes in, just as you go to look at the computer, you can see what look a bit like footprints in a line on the floor that go up the wall spawining as you approach. is that the event or something else?

At one point I was playing this game and I can't remember exactly, but it was by the gravel splotch that has the paper and some bones on, up on the high side of the mountain while driving the ATV around to fix stuff, I heard a loud roar while it was the middle of the day... It jumpscared me so hard that I ESC twice, then when I resumed the ATV went downhill to the side and I just went down back to the base on foot not looking back.
Never ever saw anyone experience that before nor have I experienced it myself again, it was freaky.
Honestly some events are so rare it's insane. People are STILL finding new things months after the latest update...!

I'm unsure but I believe it was on that playthrough that I went by the hole in the fence with the silly text to get the goodies at the Starting gate, maybe related?

There is a fog blob thing with eyes out there btw when this is going on
It would be cool if this event was deadly. Like, you're safe in the light but the darkness starts to slowly kill you, maybe with added whispers thrown into the mix.
The event could also have a tiny change of killing your power, forcing you to use hand-held light sources like glowsticks.
What's that one event where the sun and the ambience turns off for a very temporary amount of time? That one oddly disturbs me and so I like it lol

When i checked my camera on the radio tower, i saw 2 white dots moving in the fog and it can only be seen using good camera with IR on
The white eyes whent to the left side of the base and i saw it using camera 3 that was on the frount of the base and the unknown entity whent past the left side of the camera so i panicked and hid in the right corner of the server
I love games that are just naturally creepy that occasionally throw something in to tip it over the edge into horror just to make you shit your pants. It’s like a “gotcha bitch” moment.
I experienced this on day 2 while out fixing servers. I heard the weird thumping first, noticed it was getting “stormy.” I figured it was gonna start raining soon, so I just kept going. As I finish fixing a server, I open the door and an greeted with complete pitch blackness. Just a dark void outside.
Naturally, I cowered in the corner of the server room like a baby until the fog went away lmao

Had this happen today while outside. I was driving around the forest the entire time, panicking like crazy. Couldn't find the base even while driving right by the river. Seems like in newer versions they added something to make the fog even more terrifying ;P

Took a nap at around 13 one time and it happened to me or the first time. Got kicked out of bed, couldn't get back to sleep and I saw the sky going more and more gray. Couldn't pause, of course, and I just locked myself inside the living room looking anxiously outside the windows. I also took the courage to look around the base and it was so creepy even in the middle of the day (well, it wasn't really day time with a sky like that)
Can't imagine how infinitely more terrifying it must be to stumble upon this for the first time when far away from base, but I had this odd feeling that being outside in plain sight with no cover was as dangerous as being confined in the base and that both options were worse in their own way than the other. Anyone thought that too?

I got this event on my first night in 7.0
This happened to me once randomly in the middle of the day. First you start occasionally hearing a sound coming from a random direction, then everything gets slightly darker and eventually the fog arrives. Randomly disappeared after some time of me panicking in the corner of a room.

I got this event today. Scared me to my core since I was walking in the middle of the forest. When it got darker, I just decided to head into the nearest satellite tower, and wait in there until it disappeared.
i just got it and i thought that these sounds were supposed to be "some big aliens stomping around" or a distant thunder but then slowly everything just went dark and i've spent the rest of the event hiding under the desk and hoping that it wont last for the rest of the day

I see so many different events, but they don't happen to me. Should I play in endless mode, or is 35 days of story mode enough?
Story mode generally has scripted events within it, so you're guaranteed something. At day 35 and onward story mode essentially becomes endless mode too!

The Black Fog event, as far as I'm aware, is not tied to story mode, so it is able to happen on any day, at any time. The chance is pretty dang rare, though!
