Unless you’re going to be at minimums from private to commercial, part 141 isn’t worth it IMO. Extra cost for stage checks, and waiting for them is a progress killer. Plus I read the horror stories of some 141 programs holding people back over very silly things. Nickel and dime them for as much money as possible. I did 61 PPL, 141 IRA, 61 commercial. Time building for 61 is great experience to a CRM environment and you can explore. Plus you split cost, Cheapest hours you’re going to get. 55 hours of dual plus plane rental in 141 commercial killed the deal for me. Saved me about $9k going back and building hours for 61. I quit my career, moved my family to a different state and went all in on training. Still grinding everyday to keep moving forward! Best of luck to everyone out there!

I’ve taken two flights with my friend who is a CFI (3 if you include one in a Cessna 310 that I didn’t fly) and he is going to work for SkyWest in the next couple weeks.
I love it! But flying is intimidating at first because you really don’t know what’s going on haha. Did you have any of that uncertainty? I don’t want it to scare me away and want to continue on!

was he flying a too big of a plane for his inexperience as a pilot ??? the plane did not seem to be that big???

Hey Joey, been watching your videos for a while and my dream career is to become a pilot. I was just curious when you were going through flight school were you working on the side or was it something that required your full time commitment?

Curious, you mentioned in past videos you went to college for buisness, why the switch to aviation? Do flight schools require and degrees or courses prior to flight school?

the school closest to me is a 141, a bit more expensive but the 190 hour commercial license seems like i could make money off of the other 60 hours other then renting to get to 250? Do yall think i should do that or just go with the cheaper part 61, any more advice about schools i will take aswell!

$10k for a private? If you flew 60 hours that’s $160 per lesson. How much did your CFI bill you and how were your plane rentals? Standard Bay Area plane rental is around $200/hr + $100/hr for a CFI
