      @@octaviocontreras2239 WatchMojo recently did a video counting down the "Top 10 Superheroes Who DESERVED BETTER" and ranked Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker as #2. In their words:
      "Before you get too annoyed, we’re not talking about Tom Holland. Instead, Andrew Garfield’s Peter Parker. After seeing him reprise the role in 2021’s “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” we all wondered, “what could’ve been?” Especially the impact we felt from his emotional speech about coping with Gwen’s loss. After a debut success in 2012, the reaction to 2014’s “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” was mixed. Still, fans were excited to see how Parker copes after his devastating loss. There were plans for a third and fourth addition to the “Amazing” series but they were canned. Sony and Marvel had negotiated a new working relationship by introducing Spider-Man into the MCU, sadly destroying Garfield’s take on the character. "

      I think Gotham City looked more fantastic in the versions with Michael Keton than it did with Christian Bale. Batman looked like he more belonged in that "universe" and I do think Batman and Robin is okay now that I am older but at the time it felt like the tone from the first one had changed. It would have been better I think as its own thing. The Bat Man movies after the first two also was loaded with a lot of interesting villains working together, which in the comics they would sometimes do that if it meant defeating Batman. I think the "Dark and Gritty" mood sort of took over the more lighter side fun of comic book movies. I can love the Adam West, Michael Keton and Christian Bale Batmans because they each feel like a separate take on the character.

    • @white-dragon4424
      @white-dragon4424 2 года назад +4

      Tron Legacy was a nostalgia movie (like The Force Awakens), made up of lots of elements and even lines from the original, far superior movie. As I've said elsewhere, a movie reliant solely on nostalgia is like a house built on quicksand, it soon falls apart and sinks. I don't think they had enough talent and imagination to make a sequel, because they'd be forced to come up with a totally new plot, which I don't think they had the ability to do.

    • @stefantsarev4442
      @stefantsarev4442 2 года назад +4

      @@white-dragon4424 Nostalgia will always be a factor when the original and the sequel are too far from each other. Top Gun and Top Gun: Maverick are clear examples of that.
      As for Tron, the themes of the moves can't be more different from another.
      In Tron we have a brilliant programmer who was robbed by a sleazy corporate head and who, in the pursuit of recovering what is rightfully his, discovers an entirely new world and understands that the stakes are much higher than he realises, and his personal quest turns into a quest to save the entire Grid. It is a story about religion, about how far one is willing to go to redeem themselves, it is about characters uniting against a great evil, but also about freedom of thought - Flynn is better than the programs, because he can think outside of the box and they, being programs, cannot.
      Legacy is a movie about rekindling hope. Sam is a renegade who lives at the edge of the law, because has lost all hope in his attempts to find his father.
      When entering the grid, he slowly regains hope and understands the bigger picture.
      However, the small-to-big idea in this movie is actually reverse in some way - Flynn, in his pursuit to save the Grid, he faces himself in the end, which makes it personal.
      The movie is about father-and-son relations, about rekindling hope, but also about facing your fears and realising that the world is not perfect, but the beauty lies in the imperfections.
      The two movies are very different from each other, and I believe Legacy to be a great sequel.

    • @white-dragon4424
      @white-dragon4424 2 года назад +2

      @@stefantsarev4442 Then you might as well say that The Force Awakens isn't a remake of A New Hope, which a LOT of people accuse it of. To me there were just too many elements in Tron Legacy that were taken from the original for me to call it anything other than a nostalgia movie, a loose remake of the original. For example, Clu and his army took the place of Sark and his guards. We got yet another Light Cycle race, another trip on the Solar Sailer, more gladiatorial games, another visit to Flynn's arcade and the BIG Door etc. In other words, it was a retread made in order to remind the fans of good ol' 1982.

    • @stefantsarev4442
      @stefantsarev4442 2 года назад +1

      @@white-dragon4424 The Force Awakens is almost a shot-for-shot remake, because the themes are the same - a farmer kid goes on a larger journey and helps to blow up a giant Death star, which has fired once and has to be destroyed before it fires again.

      Yeah, instead of rebooting Batman they should have used Christopher Nolan’s Batman as part of the DC cinematic universe. I know the world of the Dark Knight trilogy would clash with the supernatural elements of the superheroes like Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Green Lantern considering how the Nolan films are more grounded in reality, but I think it wouldn’t affect it as badly as the grounded realism of the Dark Knight films works for a DC character like Batman considering he is a MORTAL man.

      Yeah true but if you didnt know, Nolan had already planned this and he planned his Batman Begins series to go all the way up to Batman Beyond storyline but that all fell apart due to the death of Heath Ledger. Nolan was so upset over Ledger's death that he was barely able to make Dark Knight Rises. But he did DKR because he wanted to go ahead and end the series and wash his hands of it at the time. Cant really blame Chris Nolan here. I can only imagine how he feels. And Heath Ledger was attached to his plans for the Batman Begins series beyond Dark Knight and he was good friends with Ledger.

Several sources that can be Googled (e.g., Wikipedia and IMDB) state that the script, costumes, and props were recycled from an aborted sequel to "Masters of the Universe" (1987). This theory is accurate because the announcer during the WPIX-11 trailers and (go to or return from) commercial bumpers for "Cyborg" (1989) would incorrectly call it "Masters of the Universe 2: Cyborg".

    The truly frustrating thing about all of the novel and animated series adaptations on this list is that those in the entertainment industry have learned little to nothing. Several recent adaptations still ignore the source material, or alter it considerably to put their own spin or self-insert modern social politics at the expense of narrative.
    The Ghostbusters reboot shot itself in the foot before it ever hit theaters. Defense against any and all criticism of preview content pretty much started the trend of "if they say something bad it must be misogyny" in Hollywood, which has only gotten worse. Pre-release excuses for the films box office (again, blaming misogyny) soured opinions further, so its actually impressive it did as well as ot did at all.

    Out of these, Divergant: Allegiant is unfairly maligned. There was nothing truly wrong with that film, or bad about it, it just didn't make as much as the studio expected, so they canceled the final film in the series. Which really sucks as I was enjoying them and wanted to see it concluded. After three movies, I thought the studio would be committed enough to give the fans closure. Of course I forgot that the studios don't give a shit about the fans. Divergent is the only major franchise that I know of, to be based on a series of young adult books and NOT finish out the series. Remember the days when Hollywood would decide whether or not they'd make a sequel to a film AFTER it was released and they saw what the critics said and how much money they made? Maybe they need to go back to the days of making single movies that could stand on their own, and sequels (or series) would only happen once the story proved viable.

    I can't believe The Lone Ranger didn't perform well, the movie was amazing! Depp's acting and the final train chase scene with Hans Zimmer's beautiful soundtrack of William Tell Overtune, just no idea that a cowboy movie could be this epic.

      I looked it up as memory was not perfect The Lone Ranger grossed an estimated 260.5 million problem was their budget producing it was an estimated 226 million to 250 million. While another western True Grit (2010 version) Cost an estimated 35 million to 38 million to make and grossed approximately 252 .5 million according to what I read on Wikipedia, you can look there and other places for information on the movies. So, their problem was they spent too much making it.

    In the "Green Lantern" movie the main issue I saw was that Ryan Renyolds wasn't playing a Hal Jorden type of Green Lantern. While he was playing a test pilot his ego-style character is not what a true test pilot or Hal Jordan was like at all
    Had they had him playing Guy Gardner or Kyle Rayner then the movie would have done far better
    Renyolds voice and the way he played sats Guy Gardner all the way. He's got the voice that woukd make both friends and foes just want to punch him in the face and has the ego to match
    If he were playing as a Kyle Rayner version his lack of knowledge, his high curiosity, and his imagination played out perfectly in the various CGI scenes
    But as Hal Jordan, no.

      MY favorite part of the film was, not only did they do a nice balance between "Earth" and "Space" (the comic was too often set on Earth, absurd for a "space cop"), but moreso, they FIXED Carol Ferris, who had been an unlikable B*** for decades. The Hal-Carol relationship in the film made more sense than it EVER did in the comics! (DC has been known for decades for really unlikable girlfriends in their books.)

      Terrible marketing and a really poor choice for the title did it in. They should have kept the book's title, or if they (as rumored) wanted to avoid having "princess" in the title just called it "Barsoom". "John Carter" sounds like a movie about a dentist.

    What is the difference between Ghostbusters 2016 and Mad Max: Fury Road, two films with female protagonists? The former was poorly written, had too many bad and unfunny jokes, and had none of the charm of the first two films. The latter was a great continuation of the Mad Max mythos with great writing, cool characters, and awesome action scenes. I wonder how many people who detested Ghostbusters loved Mad Max (and vice versa)?
