Justin is the best guy for the business. I personal had business with Justin on the phone and he walked me through everything perfect, a true nice guy who really cares. Every up grade on my 2007 GT500 is a VMP. My next purchase is a VMP blower.
A true Testament to VMP blowers Cletus just did a retune on neighbor made over 800 wheel horsepower and you know how he beats on that car your blower has been on there more than a year still going you make awesome products if anybody's looking to up their game on a Mustang this is the place to go your blowers continue to outperform all the others
Justin line the catch bucket with a garbage bag. Then you can reuse the fluid and not worry about cross contamination from a dirty bucket. Plus the bucket stays clean and you just throw away the bag. Just cut the corner of the bag when you are refilling the radiator..
@@VMPPerformanceTV I started doing it with coolant and oil.. Makes everything less messy.. Great video..like to see the owner wrenching. Gives you more credibility on your products and knowledge.
finally got one on order. I run road couses and 30 min sessions. Most cars will over heat in that time. but my buddy bought one of these coolers and was able to keep under 210 coolant and oil temps at 90 degrees F. My stock at the time gt 500 was at 215 and hit 220 at one point at which i pulled in the pits.
Been a few years and have been missing my 03 Cobra. Want to get back into hobby and decided for a 13 14 Gt500. Love hellcats but they are all over the road. And with Vmps support for the build I don't think there will be a power variance between the 2. Awesome video definitely bought back some memories with the Cobra.
Still not sold on the little air dam that comes with the JLT after it gets warm in Minnesota. I see major changes in temp. I have tried to adjust the bucket to seal better on the hood mat.
I had a vortech SC on my 2001 cobra. I added a fan to the heat exchanger and it makes a difference. I could sit in traffic with the AC going and never got hot. I ran the shit out of it and still kept it in the safe zone. Cooling that coolant is important to longevity. Even on stock you should add a fan.
I couldn't really see when he was hooking the wires up to the inner cooler pump. If anyone knows the proper way it would be much appreciated. Thank you
@@VMPPerformanceTV yes I got that part. Mines a 13 so it's on the block I just wanted to make sure I hooked it up correctly because it looks like theres a couple different ways it could be plugged in.

For some reason after getting it back my IATs that used to run 4 to 10 degrees above ambient temperature outside with my Roush heat exchanger are now running 25 to 35 degrees above ambient temperature. Can you tell us what what you charge for labor on this installation and or Approximate install time (2015 5.0 Mustang with Roush supercharged) Thanks :)
I dont think theres physically enough room for it that is why the ones for the cobra are alot smaller the gt500 just has alot more room to put a big heat exchanger because of how its made and its just a bigger car in general. *edit* I stand corrected ppl have fit it to cobras but it will require custom mods to make it fit.

Joseph Webb I found that Department of Boost has done lots of tests on fans and generally they are not worth it they found. They make the best HE for S197 and it doesn’t run fans. The summary is that fans restrict flow going down the road and don’t move as much air as most think. Generally they are equivalent to driving like 10-15mph if I remember right from DOB tests. Many fans tested. It’s all on their website. They also talk about a few times when fans could be useful but also have arguments for that too. Fans are almost more of a marketing thing than anything. Best thing you can do is fence the cooler in with the radiator fan like the other coolers so it pulls air through the HE as well as the rest of the coolers. And radiator fans move a lot more air anyway. Also have to consider the extra draw fans add to your charging system. Not saying it’s wrong to run them, just not the hot shit that they seem.
Wondering if heat soak is my issue. My 07 gt500 falls on its face at wot. The SC basically shuts down with no boost. It only does this when its hot and humid. In the cold weather is runs very very well. The car is all stock except for a 2.6 metco pulley, tune and exhaust. Sometimes itll go into engine fail safe mode but recently it just loses boost. Its been 95+ here all week with insane humidity. Plz help!
Good morning! Have you had your tuner review a datalog to see what the IATs are doing? These car's ECU will pull timing once IATs are above a certain temperature, typically defined by your tune.
@@VMPPerformanceTV I've never had this car tuned. I bought it from a dealership 4 years ago. I've not touched anything on it. I am however looking into it. I have to assume it's getting heat soaked because there is so much heat coming out of the extractors in the hood. Below 70° outside this car always runs perfect.
We'd recommend getting a tune/tuner of your own ASAP so you can have logs reviewed and intimate knowledge of how your tune is set up. For example, it could've been tuned on a specific fuel type or for a specific altitude that's much different than what your environment or available fuels are. We offer tuning for these cars, and would be happy to assist. Just visit www.vmpperformance.com and check out the tuning portion of our website for more information.
After watching a lot of videos, it almost seems pointless to get a supercharger on a standard mustang gt, meaning all of the big power where the fun is, seems to be at the GT500 range. Meaning, spending 9k to 12K for a supercharger seems worth it on a GT500 but not an S550 Oh well, most people can't control the stock mustang so I guess I at least understand traction.
With the standard Mustang GT, an additional 200whp is half again what they already make to the wheels and it absolutely transforms the driving experience of the vehicle. And that number is a mild estimate of the power increase when adding a supercharger. We have a lot of appreciation for both the GT500 and the Coyote based Mustangs and they definitely have pros and cons depending on what you're looking for out of your vehicle.

As long as it circulates you are fine, just pinch the bypass line since it's a 13-14 so you are able to see the flow in the tank.
