    As a Fuel Rat, there's two things that immediately stood out about this.
    The obvious is that there's going to be more people getting stuck without fuel.
    The not so obvious is that these can make getting to a client who's somewhere far in the system a little easier, if done correctly.

    • @Tooterbooter
      @Tooterbooter 5 месяцев назад +1

      It also can mean client stuck much farther away from the star than usual hehe

    • @meoka2368
      @meoka2368 5 месяцев назад

      @@Tooterbooter There should definitely be an increase of calls that aren't at the main star, yeah. The distance is going to depend on if they were not paying attention, because if you overshoot your destination the first thing you would do is turn it off, which means that they should still be in the system, close to something like a planet or station.
      Those that don't pay attention, though, could be pretty far out and out of fuel. Though probably closer in than if the same thing happened without the overdrive, since the overdrive burns up more fuel per distance than normal.

      I have it in my ASPX (bubblemaster)
      You know how it goes:
      Deliver this, source that, go buy this commodity.. then you forget to buy certain modules and so on.
      This makes zooming between stations and outposts so much faster.
      Biggest advantage i have seen so far is getting out of gravity wells around gas gigants.
      It is not that bad in terms of fuel consumption when you use it like a short time boost. Most efficient way i found is this:
      1. Deploy heat sink and cool down to sub 20%
      2. Engage SCO and accelerate to couple hundred "c"
      3. Disengage SCO and continue with normal super cruise at full speed

    I've had so much fun with it already and have found a few handy things, little things but good like how when leaving a planet supercruise can be slow just boost for a second or two and you're out of the planets atmosphere in an instant!. Also the way to manage fuel is big ships are better with larger fuel tanks plus add a few more to your loadout and you can go pretty much anywhere very fast.
    So here is my take: use bigger ships and more fuel tanks and heat sinks , For ships going around the bubble this is fine but not very good for explorers who like long FSD Jumps , any ship you want to do long range jumping would be a problem especially if you're planning a Colonia trip.
    When using the boost when my heat reaches 100 percent i turn it off to cool down it saves on heatsinks and repairing your modules for the sake of getting to destination a few seconds longer.

    no use to me.
    Perhaps Achilles Aerospace will modify this module and it will become usable.
    I expected that the new FSD would allow us to travel around the galaxy like the Stargoids did.

    Unfortunatly, its pretty darn useless for me as a pvp pirate. Maybe later iterations will have a use other then keeping the fuelrats busy..

      It pretty darn useless in any case, not just for piracy.

    So it's basically garbage in all but one (1) situation(s)? Noooo Frontier wouldn't do that...

    I honestly dont know why they released this.
    As a super cruise booster, Its uncontrollable, useless as a concept, plus who would want it for its primary use as an FSD when the range is below too short.
    I will wait for a better version.

    Spoiler Alerts on a news channel....., where we going with this world??
    Are people really getting this dumb, they would complain or be surprised about spoilers when they are watching news?! 😂🤣

    So, it's basically like interdicting yourself. No thanks. I see no practical purpose for this module whatsoever.

    • @xPara
      @xPara 5 месяцев назад +1

      I imagine it's mainly for the Thargoid Titans that are ridiculously far away from their star. Without it, you'd be interdicted probably a hundred times before you got to the furthest ones.

      @@xPara It would be far more useful if it didn't make your ship all but uncontrollable. Maybe it works with supercruise assist.

      @@douglasharbert3340 Ricardo tried supercruise assist on this FSD and it didn't work. You can find his video on you tube as well. But I assume this FSD helps with Titan war if used wisely ;)

    To be honest this fsd are useless

      On the contrary. Specialised combat ships don't need jump range, they are not bounty hunters, they are warships. With SCO they can engage or escape from the enemy quicker in a war torn system. Miners can quickly leave the gravity wells of the gas giants. Local errand runners can be more effective. Short bursts, jumps is the optimal way. Plus this is a prototype still. This is new for the engineers, but can totally make a lot of new features come to life: SCO engineering, fuel tank engineering, new ships which fare better with this FSD, restoring the shelved idea of scooping gas giants for fuel etc.d

    Kinda underwhelming, don't you think?
