About this channel: We are the Smith's. A Christian family of 6, living in the country just outside of Georgetown, Texas. Granger, an author and former country music singer, Amber, an actor and stay at home mom, and their children: London, Lincoln, River (who we lost when he was 3yrs old) and Maverick.

My dad is with his parents, his brothers, and his WWII bomber buddies, and his favorite horses Dusty and Boulder and dogs. The parents are sitting on the porch having iced tea...watching their 'boys' fishing on the banks of the farm ponds.
I was in line at Chick-Fil-A yesterday here in MT and the car in front of me had a bumper sticker that said “River Smith”. I said a little prayer for your sweet family, not even knowing it was his birthday.

I would imagine Granger tried everything he could get his hands on to 'escape the terrible loss he felt. it wasn't his fault, but that did't count...he was the protector, and he felt he had failed. So many parents go through this process of grief when their precious children are lost in accidents, in poor health, and there is no way to escape except come to terms with the loss, then celebrate the life. I wouldn't wish this on anyone......the grief is terrible, and the parents feels so alone, unconsolable and isolated.
Today is my dad's 75th heavenly birthday. He passed away 18 years ago. I bet my dad is hanging out with River. He loved my little boys! 😊

Some suggestions for the cattle panel crop growing are melons, zucchini, and Nasturtiums flowers to help beautify the garden & to attract bees and butterflies. I’ve seen pumpkins grown on the trellises too. I’ve decided to incorporate more flowers this year for the pollination. My zucchini didn’t grow very good last year because not enough pollinators. I love that you ate growing grapes. I’m hoping to do this too maybe next year if my money allows it, Gardens are not cheap to get started as you know. I love your family’s choice of table grace. So cool. Love your family. Five years is an earmark when one is living with a loss of a child. It doesn’t get easier as time goes on, but your love for him/her tends to shine more brightly in a different manner. Hugs to The Smiths for all their kindness and caring for others.

Awwww…I LOVED RIV…such an energetic little spitfire…always pushing the limits and sooooo sweet at the same time. One of my favorite videos of him was when he came to you, Amber, and said he had poop on his finger. He always had me laughing. The day of his accident/loss was one sad day. But at least we know he is with Jesus and now forever safe and blessed! God bless you all as you remember RIV!!! ❤️🙏🏻❤️
