  • Kids wanted to shoot a pistol and I didnt want them to start with the 9mm. Bought one of these to fill that gap.

I just went to the range to try the Walther P22CA I got a few weeks ago. I cleaned and oiled it before going. I also added grip extension though my hands fit the grip, although snugly. I was kind of wary of the issues with it not loading or not liking certain cartridges that are high velocity or below 1300fps. I was wrong... initially...It fired like a dream using Remington Thunderbolt 40g (green box - $42.99/500rnds) with 1255fps. Then I tried the Federal 40g (blue box - $74.99/800rnds) with 1200fps, and it also took that and no misfires or jamming. Next was the CCI Minimag 40g ($54/500rnds) with 1235fps and every round also went through with no problem.
But after firing 180 rounds switching through those 3 cartridges, the problem started but it was just with the Federal. The gun started not going into battery and I had several FTLs and misfires with that particular cartridge. I actually thought I had a squib a few times. The CCI and the Thunderbolt still shot great, still had no issues. I dont know if it was because the gun started getting dirty, but why just the Federal and why after firing great initially, I wondered.
I just bought an Aguila 38g ($41.99/500rnds) with 1280fps cartridges that I will try next. In the meantime, I guess I will feed the Federal to my Savage 64 and Citadel Trakr.

    I just bought a P22Q.
I really like the looks & feel of the gun. However, I’m having the same issues everyone seems to have with these guns. The spent round will eject but the slide fails to pick up the next round in the magazine.
This is mostly with Federal Auto Match ammo. I ran fine with Aguila Super Extra. I did apply a small amount of Fluid Film on the face of the hammer & the slide where it rides. It did seem to help & not as many failure to feed issues.
    Just a thought.
I’ll keep shooting it in hopes that it works it self out.

Thank you there's so many idiots making videos of the older model that hasn't been modified saying it jams they can't cycle and they're just not educated enough to know that they have fixed the problem...

Took delivery of a new online purchase today. Trigger, mag release and ergonomics are $hit. Prolly won’t ever fire it before trading out. Pffft!

I want to know if the barrel has a gun thread or not.

Shows that the barrel in the gun does not have a gun thread, right?

Are the recoil springs for the old and new Walther P22 interchangeable?

I'd say get the new sentinel captured recoil spring. Makes headache alot less
