    Thanks for sharing.Buddy had a Walther and he didn’t like it… had reliability problems so he traded it off.
    He was definitely cranky when he first took it out in the woods and couldn’t get it to run right. Can’t remember what ammo but he had several types and wasn’t happy with any of it.

      Yeah I try to put better ammo through these, but if there’s one thing I seem thrive on it’s struggling to run guns with many different types of ammo lol

    Haven't tried the walther , but have shot the ruger a few times. My buddy has the ruger sr22 , and we have run alot of rounds through it, it has been reliable with everything he has run.

      The SR22 has been great- jury is still out on the Walther

    Walther 22 I changed the spring and polished the hammer were the slide would hit after that it ran everything 22lr normal bulk 36 and 40 grain except sub sonic I have a early version. I heard Walther addressed these issues in newer ones

      Mine runs decent with the right ammo. But it’s def more ammo picky than the SR22

    I have found Aguila to work a little better than CCI in my P22Q. The 38 grain hollow points run just fine in my P22Q.

    • @crankygunreviews
      @crankygunreviews  Месяц назад +2

      Interesting! I really like Aguila as well.

      @ The CCI would not always chamber, and I would have to once in a while push the slide forward to finish chambering a round.
      The Norma Eco Speed non-lead 24 grain rounds would not eject the casings at all. I’d have to clear the gun, and push a rod down the barrel to punch out the spent casing.
      I have heard of that particular ammo not cycling well in semi-auto guns, but I use it in a revolver, and it works just fine.
      I used some Fiocchi and Winchester ammo, and they had a few more hiccups than the CCI.
      As long as my P22Q is clean and lubricated the 38 grain Aquila hollow points work best. I shot about 225 f them a few days ago with no hiccups.
      The 40 grain rounded tip Aguilas have had a few hiccups. I’d say their performance is similar to the CCI.

    I'll take the Walther all day, though I hear great things about the Ruger. It's a looks thing 😜

      Lol, yeah every once in a while I have thought the Ruger is weird… the Walther has price for sure, $100 or more cheaper

    If your Walther will fire it's the nicer gun in my opinion. Plus you can get a Walther with a decocker. The one and only thing that I didn't like about The Ruger was how close the hammer comes to your hand. I bought a Walther this week, can't wait until it gets here.

      The Walther has a zinc slide, and it looks kinda cheesy to me. Ruger slide
      Is machined aluminum I believe- I guess time will tel which I like better, I’ve had the Ruger a long time

      @@crankygunreviews I don't think the cheesy silver slide looks all that bad personally. I got the military model with the black slide and green body. I could have gotten the all black one but I liked the military a little better.

      @@irongoose3865 I agree, the green/black one looks better- that one wasn’t in stock when I bought mine.

      @@irongoose3865 The sights show up better and are easier to acquire on the Nickel plated slide because they are the only black things you see.

    Sometimes they need a little breaking in. The later model P22Q with the captured spring is less picky by all accounts. I like to break a firearm in by watching a movie and seeing how many times I can rack the slide in 2 hours, simulating thousands of rounds of ammo. Also take the slide off, cock and pull the trigger a few thousand times catching the hammer so it doesn't bang into the frame while watching a movie.

      My videos should all have comments on… and I have a lapel Mic I just don’t always use it depending on where I’m recording- sometimes I get lazy. A lot of my really old vids I didn’t have a mic so the sound is all over the place too. This is a hobby not a job for me so you get what you get sometimes :)

    Stay away from walther. Most unreliable gun i have owned. Will not fire after de-cocking If you load, turn the safety on then off it will not fire

    • @crankygunreviews
      @crankygunreviews  15 дней назад

      Do you have a gen 1 P22? Mine is the P22Q, more modern version, and doesn’t have a decocker, only a safety. And I’ve had pretty good reliability out of mine. It’s a little more ammo picky than the Ruger though
