For anyone struggling, make sure your music files are in the required format: .m3u, .m3u8, or .pls .

Hello, I just purchased the FLX4 and my songs that are on windows media player will not import when I drag and drop. I've done it on my VirtualDj and had no problems. The windows I'm currently using is 10. Is that the reason why or do I have to delete my songs from Virtual Dj? Also I read that the new FLX4 6 uses windows 11 and up. Could that be the reason too?

thank you your video was helpful, does the BPM actual import songs only in the specified range? or does it import all songs, as when i import songs it points out the BPM range from maybe 75 to 140 etc, can i remove this restriction on BPM ?
it imports all songs. but if the bpm is outside the range it's wrong.

because wav files don't have id3 tags or artwork embedded (not part of the standard).
only FLAC and MP3 files have that

How do you import a plylist from an extrenal hard disk to your main library, including the hot cues? I just imported the playlist but even though the hot cues are showing, when i double click on a track the hot cue is not appearing
never use external hard drives for the sake of storing your music. if you store internally, make backups externally.
And use external drives for exporting to the cdj.
You can use the find-files feature in rekordbox to find the files
Where do ppl download or get songs from now adays? I feel like everything is on Soundcloud or Spotify... So not on a harddrive.

I tried to record a mix from soundcloud onto rekordbox but it said Invalid Operation. REC is disabled when streaming tracks are on deck anyone able to help me out ?

You can't record streamed songs because you don't own them. You need to download the songs before recording. Whether you buy them or use a converter is up to you. Plenty of soundcloud to mp3 converters out there.

is there a way to drag a folder that has multiple folders and have it organized how I have it set up already on my PC? For example: HOUSE is the main folder and then inside I have individual folders for each artists. Would that be organized the way it should be in rekord box or does it all stack up unorganized in collections?
(I have the folders already set up and I want to bring in everything organized in RekordBox, instead of setting all the playlist and folder set up in Rekord Box)

@@DexxterClarkMusic I am new to my ddj 400 and rekordbox this is my 1st time starting up again the last time I djed was with cd's. I should have read the comments first. I have a exernal drive connected to my Surface Pro 3 using it in a dock folder with 10,000 songs on the external HDD that were already separated into genres/albums. I loaded/imported the whole folder into rekordbox and I can not remember all songs to find them. if I had imported them folder by folder into the playlist as you suggest in another comment I think I would have been ok. Now I just started a record pool 8th wounder it was only $9.99 1st month then 19.99 I might not keep it long to ty other record pools. All the record pool songs I am making them into folders with genres on a separate external hard drive. So please let me know if I am right I can make all my playlist that match my folders on my external hard drive and add it to my playlist for each one. I also want to make a backup external drive of my music so I copy the hard drive to the new SSD. How will reckordbox find the song on the new ssd? would rekordbox it see it as another drive? or do I have to import something to the new drive to tell rekordbox it cold find the song there? I hope I would not have to load all the songs again that would that mean it would show doubles i=when I search for a song?. Thank you for any help. I looked there are not man videos on import,and exporting to multiply drives. I am going to be a mobile dj and want to have a back ou drive just in case one fails. sorry for my rambling on I can call Pioneer Monday as well. Thanks for your videos!

Hey, if I import my music from an external hard drive, will hard drive always have to be connected to be able to play the songs? I imported all the i wanted to into rekordbox, removed the hard drive and the songs can not be located, I'm so confused, can anyone help? All the songs were analysed and imported fine, so I assumed they would be saved in my rekordbox library without having to connect my ex hard drive every time, thanks in advance
You can relocate files with recordbox (see my video about that).
never use an external drive to store your music.
The only useful way is to export song to hard drive with the original copy on your computer.

Once I have an establish (imported) collection, how do I import new tracks across multiple folders? Say I have 75 new tracks in 12 different (already imported) folders? Is there a way for Rekordbox to search for new tracks? Thanks

drag the folder on the imported folder, it will ask you to import the doubles, then click: no

did you have the column displayed? right click on column header.
are the tags filled? Can you check with mp3tag?
Did you do a reload of the tags...

that's not hard. make a folder and copy all the music in there.
delete the old music and solve all the question marks by pointing at the directory
Hoi! Weet u misschien of ik voor gebruik van de Pioneer DDJ400 ook enkel mijn muziek op een USB stick of externe schijf kan zetten, welke ik dan weer in mijn Macbook doe? Ik denk namelijk dat wanneer ik al mijn muziek op het geheugen van de Macbook ga zetten, dat die binnen no-time bomvol zit. Ik wil dus graag elke keer dat ik ga mixen gebruikmaken van Rekordbox, maar dat de muziek vanaf de USB komt en dus niet op de Macbook staat.. Ik kan nergens vinden of dat mogelijk is. Misschien is het wel een domme vraag, dat er daarom geen antwoord op is.

usb sticks / externe schijven zijn niet van de hoogste kwaliteit...
Het is me al een paar keer gebeurd dat schijven en usb sticks corrupt zijn of niet meer gedetecteerd worden

Sorry. New to Rekordbox. What would be the reason to import to rekordbox? I've heard of this feature, but not sure when that would come in handy. Also, it looks like it just imported all of those songs. Would they still be in folders? As of now, I've been just mapping rekord to where my music is at. Any help would be appreciated
importing is just letting Rekordbox know where your files are.
Rekordbox disregards all directory structures when importing. you have to make folders manually in Rekordbox

do you know how to play music from a cd in rekordbox? I noticed it's possible with virtual dj, but in the past I have bought rekordbox...

what i dont get is lets say i just downloaded some songs from record pool... (I dont use my laptop to play). I need to get them on my USB and in rekordbox... Do i download from recordpool straight to drive first then drag files from drive to collection? the drag playlist from collection to the individual playlist on that specific drive?

You need to put the files on your hard drive, let RB analyze it, then export to USB.
Putting the files on USB directly will skip the analyzing part and you'll miss features on your CDJ.
A wrong beatgrid for example is a nightmare to fix on the CDJ

Hi, I downloaded rekordbox mobile earlier and I’ve been trying for hours to import a lot of the music I want to work with from iTunes because it says it’s capable of doing so. Yet every song I’ve tried to import just flat out says “could not import (x) song(s)” and no further explanation as to why. It’s been really frustrating me all day and any feedback would be greatly appreciated

yes, by going into the folder: CTRL-A and drag all the files
If anyone is trying to get all files from sub folders to Root of drive so everything is in one place there is a easy power shell command to do so just make sure you change drive to correct drive your after mine was D: so this is code i used type only whats between [ ] marks

when i import a few new tracks for example to a playlist, do i have to sync to usb every time? Just wanna add those few tracks to the already synced USB drive. It takes ages to sync again and sometimes does not sync the old playlists..very strange, thanks

Thansk for this. I appreciate your tutorials. But, I have a question? when you import from hard drive to RKBX, do the files then stay in RKBX or do you still play them from your hard drive? I don;t want to store all my music iN RKBX on my mac as it slows it down?
they stay on the external hard drive. I suggest to copy them to you internal hard drive/ssd.
Why would it slow down the computer??
Don't use your SSD to the max indeed, leave some empty space.
Because it might break sooner under the heavy load, because it reorganises the data constantly in the background.
Especially on a mac where the SSD is soldered to the motherboard, you can NEVER swap it.

mostly beatport. Mostly mp3 files.
