Only Christian Ortodox celebrate Easter in Russia by Julian Calendar!Catholics celebrate the same as Western people using Georgian calendar.Other religions in RF don’t celebrate Christian holidays

I just remember when I was a kid we would get Easter dyes and my dad would put them in separate tea cups, depending on the color and would get these little egg shape wired baskets that you put your eggs and you dip them into the solution and they just were different colors. We didn’t paint them, but we stopped doing that because, we couldn’t find all the eggs and it would start smelling the following couple months or we would get raccoons 🦝 in the yard eating them

Woohoo! Yippee! You are going back home to Vladivostok to visit family members and maybe your family dacha. Russian Easter is a bit different from American Easter. Coloring eggs isn't so involved here, and there's no Easter cake. The Easter Bunny brings kids an Easter basket filled with jelly beans, chocolate covered marshmallow eggs and sometimes Peeps. I'd say take lots of pictures and videos of your trip, but I'm sure you will. 🐰🐇🥚🙂💗

Nice video, Lisa. I used to dye Easter eggs every year when I was a kid using one of the dye kits. Also, we often ate a cake shaped like a lamb and also ate lamb meat with mint jelly. Easter Egg Hunts are very popular for kids, either just at home with your family or at special events for the whole community held at large city parks. Usually it is plastic eggs that are hidden and then when the kids find the hidden plastic eggs there might be money or candy 🍬 inside. Also, we eat marshmallow peeps 😊.

I love your latest video Lisa! I must point out that Russian Easter is not based on the calendar like it is for Christmas, but it is based a certain formula that the Orthodox Church uses to determine the date of Easter. The Roman Catholic Church decided to use a different formula, which results in Easter not always falling on the same day as the Orthodox Church. For example, I attend a “new calendar” Orthodox Church in the US, but we still celebrate Easter (Pascha) on the same day as Russian Orthodox Christians. Still, you make the distinction and I am happy to see your sincerity in putting a lot of thought into your videos ❤

That was a great video, loved the art gallery piece. Has for snow in May we can have that in Canada too. We say after May 20th it usually doesn't snow any more....usually but still possible. Happy Easter.

We don’t paint eggs like this, we dissolve the paint in a cup then put the eggs inside. We can mix colors this way also. Onion gives yellow paint, not red, aren’t they ? Never seen eggs like unicorns though, you’re so creative ! P.S. I live K-pop music with eggs, it’s so unusual !
just visited a sunday church last sunday for russian easter here in Helsinki:) we have ortodoxian cathedral here called uspensin cathedral its, almost same looking as some churches in russia. it was build in 1868.

I think you are supposed to blow the eggs out the way that you make one hole on each end to avoid smell after a week or so. I think you do that when it is raw and you tip it into hot water to kill salmonella or prevent it.

I think you have so much subtropical area in Russia you can live there: Sotchi, Crimea and around the Asov sea.
Coastline so big as southern France and south spanish coast toghether. Climate similar to Nice and Genua.
Krasnodar similar weather to Amboise and South Tyrol.

Other subtropical zones are sometimes much warmer: like Florida, Hainan (both with a tropical part), but at least Florida there are a lot of poison snakes, spiders and all over alligators. It can be quite dangerous there going for a walk (In China similar Anhui, Zejiang and Jiangsu).
So Canary Islands are quite good or some parts of southern China, Kunming for example, when you like real eternal spring temperatures.
Lisa, it's awesome that you get to go back home. That must be a really long flight! You'll have to tell us what you think about being stuck on an airplane for that long! The snow in Moscow in May does make me wonder, is that something that is normal? If you want to go someplace where you won't have to worry about being cold, you can always come visit the US. If you like dry heat you can come visit Arizona. If you like wet heat you can come visit Florida. Both States have a lot of fun things to see and do. Thank you for showing us what you do for Easter. That was a lot of fun to see how things are done there. Watching you paint the eggs with those gloves on was quite funny, especially the red egg! I hope it has warmed up for you in Moscow. Thank you for sharing your experiences and keep smiling!
