Can't stand it, I go to the gym early around 3:00am every morning and find myself putting back dumbbells that people from last night left or weights laying around and I honestly think the cleaners just mop and do stuff like that, I've never seen them put any equipment back and honestly, I'm not sure it's their job, they're most likely contracted so I don't think they'd be covered if they get hurt. They really need to implement that strike system.
@@are3287 I have two gym memberships, one is Third Space which is always extremely well kept and the other is The Gym Group which isn't the worst but you certainly have these issues there. My area isn't really "diverse" but the gym is and it's the closest 24hr gym to me and often I like going very early in the morning. I'm not sure "diversity" is the issue as Third Space is also "diverse" and doesn't have that issue.
And there are more of these kinds of people than you think! Some days at my local gym early in the morning… it’s a total mess! It’s as if a hurricane has passed the night inside… they even forget their bottles and other equipments… for me they are just dumb as fuck…

The only person I ever had trouble with as far as re-racking the plates was a woman who, upon being asked nicely the first time, just refused to do it. People don't realize that no one knows if you're done until you rack those plates. We only have two smith machines in the gym so they are in demand. Women ruin everything.
my gym has like 10 or more power racks where there's a room full of them thats always empty and also no individual bars on the side to use from the floor but theres only 3-5 adjustable benches at the dumbbell section that are always taken would you say its still bad etiquette to curl on the racks
My gym owner has a group chat with every member in, if people don't rerack weights or put equipment away when they're finished with it he makes a video and shows them up in front of all the other members in the group chat. Safe to say in the 8 months I've been at this particular gym it's only happened twice.

Someone left 100 pound plates on the leg press once. Some old guy went to remove them, thinking they were 45's and almost killed himself. I had to go over there and unrack them all before he broke his back.
That's one of the reasons why people should re-rack their weights. The gym is for everyone at different levels. I've been to many gyms in my life, and I always see at least one elderly person. Sometimes they can't re-rack a 45 pound plate by themselves. That's usually why the elderly opt for selectorized machines than plate loaded ones.
Re-rack your weights, or someone, who is not so nice, may hit you in the face with a weight plate. Not everyone is nice, not everyone cares about the stupid cameras. Re-rack, or life support. Choose wisely fool

0:45 it is an incline press which is rather safe to fail on and easy to get out of. should use clips, and in public gyms there are too many people who fail to use clips despite lots of plate creep due to inconsistent movements even though they have spotters, have access to spotter arms and often just remove them, and should not be training to failure this much. Not using clips at a home gym makes perfect sense, even if you do have spotter arms and a spotter simply for the habit, but in a public gym I swear this is like people hearing second hand about someone getting more injured by wearing a seat belt and justifying a less safe practice. Use collars. Kid did right here, he just panicked on the rerack and was not in danger, but also good on the other guy helping cause while panicked you could get yourself in some awkward positions.
Sadly you are just dead wrong. I've seen people pinned under incline presses just as hard as flat. Especially when they've very new to lifting and overall very weak. People literally DIE every year getting pinned under a bench press so you trying to minimize the danger is just absurd and also downright foolish
Clips on benches are stupid, yet many feel otherwise. I wouldn't be here today if I used clips on a pec rupture years ago. Clips would have had 315 fall directly on my throat as the weight would be trapped.
All gyms should have the following rules: 1) Re-rack weights 2) No putting water bottle, towel, etc on bench (you aren't using) 3) No cellphones while resting between sets Any of these and you are kicked out.

Reracking is exercise, a nice little finishing touch to whatever workout you were doing. I feel bad for the ones that want to do something like deadlifting just to find they can't move it because some kid or bodybuilder left every plate on it. I dont know why people are so Karen about reracks. I grew up in a time when gyms were completely male dominated spaces and gyms were messy AF, nobody cared, we lifted and went on our way.
Proper or improper form, that dude carrying the stack of lumber is showing incredible strength. Not only is that a huge amount of weight, it’s not nearly the same as if it were a barbell. That swinging and length and shape makes it 10x harder than a same-weight barbell.

Also dont lift more than you can in 10 reps. Some or most of you dont use great form in the first place. So start light get that form the strength will come over time dont get injured

Because some people have a muscle imbalance, so sometimes the weights move. I don't think it's an issue as long as you know your limit and ask for a spot when going heavier.

most gyms make clips mandatory but you only have to have them on the big plates so you can slide off the lighter ones.

Gyms are in the decline and have been for awhile now. Many Gyms have closed down and others are struggling where i live.
