“Not all cars in the auction are bad but all bad cars are in the auction” - not sure who said it first but I live by it!
I’ve never heard that, but that is so true 👌
We’re in the same boat, just starting out and trying to find stock! Being over in west Pembs it’s a day out to see the auctions and watch things go for retail price at the moment.
So ur videos have made me decide to take the plunge mate. Not sure if you remember my post on the 1st video, so the trade insurance is sorted and trade plates are ordered. Due to the unit costs here I have worked a deal with my mechanic. While he's working on a car for me he can keep up to 2 more in his secure yard and I have room for 3 at home. So the plan is drop one off with him for a fresh MOT then take the next one to him and collect the freshly MOTd one back to valet. Ideally the end goal is a unit but I'm trying to keep overheads low until I'm up and running. Fingers crossed 😂😂
Abousulty love it. If I can help in anyway I will, there ov a lot more people out there with more experience than me, but I have been within the trade for god knows how many years now.. My advice, don't rush into buying anything, do your research, trust your gut on a car and wait for the right car. You earn money when you buy it, not sell it.. Good luck
@BargainBangers I appreciate that pal you may regret the offer 🤣
Great video mate, keep them coming 🎉
Thanks pal, will do
Enjoyed the update
i noticed on other channels who go to auctions the prices are getting higher all time selling for retail at times
Yea they are. Fees also kill it on top.
January is always expensive also which is a pain
It's getting tougher to find decent stock, people are only changing their car if it needs loads of work on it. The tough financial climate means most people aren't just upgrading their car for the sake of it like they used to. Add to that the fact EVs are being pushed on us when people don't want them and it's making the trade even harder!! Good luck finding some stock
Think you are spot on then, seems most of the time it’s only changed if there something wrong
Another great video that I was really looking forward to! All the best!
Thank you
Hi Shane thanks for the mention all the best for the future
No Worries Craig, will get it sorted next week for you 👍
Yet another fantastic video my fellow welsh friend...Loving the insight into it all and I know with you're experience in the trade you'll make the decisions you're happy with!!!...
Looking forward to the next video and best of luck...🚘💪🏼🏴❤️
Thank you pal ❤️
The sheer amount of clocked cars I’ve found lately is ridiculous not to mention the blag MOT’s
The MOT are a joke, had a guy message from watching on here saying he can do me fake MOts 😂🙈
I wouldn't be surprised to find a few cars from Pontypridd 'in the auction' with damp carpets.
Was anyone actually bidding at Wilsons Auctions ??? Seems like auctioneer running up prices and looks empty apart from a few people..
Great video though👍
Honestly, I debated this myself, and I know it’s a general statement, but I often don’t see the bids myself but maybe that’s just me. Thanks pal
I've decided to buy a new petrol car (whilst I still can) because I don't want to take the risk on a used one via auction, Autotrader or dealer.
Even that can be risky but I have done my research on reliability of various model/engine combo.
There is even the possibility that after 2030 the govt will start to force ICE vehicles off the road with road user/ppm, zonal charges, annual and fuel tax hikes.
They starting that now, with how much they putting new car tax up. It’s a joke
What does it mean when you have oil in the water expansion tank like the focus had,
I would say maybe 90% have issues 😂😂😂
Think you about right there 😂😂
Kindest regards 🇨🇦🇨🇦
❤️❤️
Sell it you need a cheap runabout you need the profit and the Abarth is made for that 👌
Think you are spot on there
The dealers paying over top cap must be the ones earning money if the keep going back week after week
Think Finance is a big thing, as in commission through it. Only way I see it working
Keep the abarth, BUT as the colour looks simlar to the background on your logo Id get it sign writen :o)
To be fair its not a bad idea that one 😂🙈
@@BargainBangers LMAO im full of them, well in my head but most people dont listen :o) - but with a we'll buy your car and a logo'd advert on it, it would get you cars in. park it places to, outside schools, supermarkets and even on main roads, the ad will pay for itself in no time.
When I got the couresty cats all signed up, it brought a load of work in, so again what you say above makes sense. Im going to ponder on this week, to see what I think about the Abarth, and if I do decide to buy it, I'll look at that route. Thanks Wayne
Interested in a 2012 ford smax 2.2 titanium x sport at all?
Where abouts are you?
Just noticed where your based I’m in north east Scotland. If you are interested I could deliver
Which branch was this ?
Swansea motor auction was first, then Wilson’s auction Newport was second
@ what think of the prices at newport ?
Suppose like any auction, some cars go for crazy money, and then others are ok. Fees are a little high for me, but do come down when you buy more and more
love this been waiting for an update, are you doing them weekly?
Yes, videos will be uploaded weekly. Was a little late this week, because when I had gone to auction, I didn't expect to come away with noting 😂
prices will only go up as people who dont want milk floats keep their cars longer or buy a newer second hand one .
Spot on there. January doesn’t help either
There's always a reason for cars to be sent to auction....
While I agree generally speaking, sometimes people will PX a good car just for a change. Unfortunately knowledge comes into it and even some luck when buying from there
@@BargainBangers but even a part exchange with a larger dealership will have a ready market if it is a decent car. They do send some to auction if they have poor history or they can't find anyone to underwrite their px value. Generally bigger dealerships have small retailers that take their px cars if they are good enough to retail without too much work. That's where you might look at putting yourself to get a source of px cars.
Again I think you spot on, thats where the fiat 500 was bought from, but yes its all about building them relationships, and maybe the paint can help in that case also..
@@BargainBangers absolutely, keep looking for the direct px sources and all the best in building the business. Hopefully the channel will keep bringing in good leads as well.
