Brought this in about 2007 2008 it was 120$ to 150$ now it is over 300$ what a hike. I'm glad I realized back then I still loved this hobby and brought everything I needed. With that said I want the giant raceway but I will not pay over 300 bucks for it.
I bought this set off ebay, it was missing the cars, and a few pieces... I bought all the cars, and a bunch of older cars, from my childhood. Tonight, I bought a POLICE CAR! With Christmas right around the corner, A Police car on the track slowly pursuing another car, serves as a reminder, to stay safe, stay sober, stay out of jail! Brisket, rib eyes, beef ribs; my type of Holiday meal!!! Blessings to all, and keep the throttle down!!!!
Hi, very interesting vid. Please do the next one when you have this splendid race track fix and set on the floor. I'm sure everybody would enjoy watching the cars running on this superb slot track !. Hope you consider next video with cars running on it. Cheers, John from Chile, South America.
I have the old two lanes International set and a Mega Competition set with extra banked corners added and a rare Australian "Eastern Creek" sets box reinforced to handle the weight and packed solid with outer radius and outer outer radius curves and things and I can build just about anything My favourite track is the four lane Daytona tri-oval with the centre road circuit from the book The Slot Car Bible
Yes they will. Most old cars will need a good tune up and almost always need new tires . I buy GEL CLAW tires from ebaY . They really make the cars handle better than ever . I use them on all my cars , even my expensive modified Mega G+ and Viper V1's
Yes they will. Aurora and Tomy AFX cars will run on this track. TYCO , Auto world , life like and some others will also run on this track. Thanks for the question
@@slotslidershoslotcars Same with the Micro Scalextric cars with wire braids, they not only run on AFX track without any problem they are great track cleaners and will run without hesitation after your track has been stored away Do a few laps with the Scalextric cars and then run the your regular cars

So I ordered this thing 6 months ago and it arrived a few days ago, I already had 2 ho train tracks setup and running, so I had to pull the brads to remove those tracks and incorporate this 4 lane, I have not had afx/aurora since my teens, and it was a good set as I remember I am having issues with this set, and it is really getting on my last nerve. Speed lok huh? what a pile of junk!!! sometimes the track goes together easy and others fight to go together, and the crowning touch, you are trying to put this section together of what you have 3/4 done and low and behold another section you already did pops apart, when I get them together they are flush, they are not just partly together, nope they are together properly, I was cleaning up and laid my drill bit/driver set on the track, and them bumped it, and guess what happened a section of the track underneath came appart. I am so not happy with this set, 280.00 plus tax plus shipping, and it ain't worth 25.00, don't waste your good money on this set look for something else. I now have to fix the section that came apart, and put the last curves and straights to have it all together, and I am dreading trying to put the last 2 curve sets and connecting straights knowing it is gonna be a fight that when I try to connect those it is going to come apart elsewhere and I am gonna get extremely frustrated. So anyway I got one of the cars and tried to run it on what was together, do you think it would run brand new out of the box, NO! I had to get my 320 grit foam sand block and clean the rails, and it ran better but still stopped before it got to the end. Oh and you gotta love the power connectors, oh my stars, they have no friction to hold them in place and pop out with the slightest movement, my solution was to drill a hole in the center of the block down in to the 1/2 plywood and put a screw through it to hold the 2 power connectors in place. When you have to fix things that are brand new right out of the box, that is just sorry.
Down to the last 2 curves to put together and do think it's gonna work, NOPE the stupid track is now popped apart in 4 other places places, this is the worst track you could buy, I never had this much trouble with the 70's set that I had, and if the tabs broke off, you could always nail one piece down, butt the other piece against it and nil it down nice and fluch and it worked. connecting this track together is a headache, one last lousy connection and now there are 5 connections to reconnect. do not buy this set unless you just want absolute frustration and headache The only way to fix this is to nail the track down as you go, and hope that the last connection will lock together having enough wiggle room to do so.
I recently bought this set and combined it with another 4 lane set..now I have my dream HO set.
Very cool! 👍🏻💯🏁
That's great Vlad ! 🏁
Does this set come with a lap counter?
@@gnrvintagediecastracing7978...neither set came with a lap counter..but depending on what type of lap counter you desire I would recommend Ebay.
@@gnrvintagediecastracing7978 it does not. Check out the laptrax app. It works with your cell phone.

Old school original G Plus are fun to race after you give them a modern tune up of tires axles and gears
The Super G+ is great, especially the one's with the Gray Nylatron chassis.

Hey that’s a nice track what size table do I need to put this track on.
Thanks for the review. Does this set come with some sort of lap counter? Or is an add-on you can purchase separately?
Nope.
Like you said. In the video. I have a bunch of old AFX cars from the late 70s. They will work on this track????

Strangely I was just messaging an old fella here a couple of minutes ago about making tyres for my first ever slot car an Aston Martin DB4 C68 Triang Scalextric
An old neighbour Eric Tonkin gave me the Aston Martin when I was about 5 I've now had it for sixty years or more
Eric was a "wharfie" he worked on the docks and I've always said my Aston Martin must have fallen off the back of a ship
I suppose Eric must have passed away in the late 1960's but I can never forget him he gave me my first slot car
I really like old metal chassis 1/24 things from the 1960's but I've got all sorts
