There were also lighted versions of the thunderjet, AFX (flamethrower), magnatraction, and speedshifter (Cat's Eyes). The magnatraction with 2 lights on top is known as Overheads. Good videoTroy - time to watch the Tyco version!
And Ultra 5 slotless chassis and xlerator chassis. Two slightly different pickup shoes with A and B on button of the chassis. Troy did a video on this car.
Awesome channel. Got bk into slot cars again an I’ve learned so incredibly much from your channel. Also appreciate the Magna Sonic as I have one an wondered what it was. Keep up the great work. Awesome Channel.! Thanks!
I have a couple of slimline chassis that I believe had a blue Ford Model T pickup body. I don't think I ever had them working though. Inherited a bunch of cars and track from my uncle back in the early 70's and kept buying cars until the early 80's. I also have a very large oversized Thunderjet Semi-Truck that I don't see a chassis for here.
I know this is super old post, but I have two non mag traction chasis that you don't have. They have a contact in the front for lights. One has a body patterned after a Ferrari 512M, the other a Porsche 917. They're both missing the lights (there's one light, not installed) but in pretty good shape otherwise to be 50ish yrs old, the 512M being the better of the two.
Original AFX chassis' can be found dated both 1970 and 1971. Have had a couple in my lifetime. If I remember correctly some of them were also made in the USA. Both dates are very hard to find. They turn up on eBay occasionally.
The vibrator chassis what is being referred to as a top plate is called a reed plate. The reed plate has a metal piece on the underneath side facing downward 90 degrees to the reed plate. That piece appears missing from your example. Apparently they break easily. Anyway It's purpose is to advance the drive gear. You're missing both screws to hold the plate on. The other plate needs one screw and the guide pin. This info was referenced at Jeff Ryan yt channel vibs chassis video. Video also trouble shoots chassis.
You missed the Cats Eyes Chassis, Was like the Blazin Brakes only the head lights turn on instead of brake lights and the rear axle has two gears similar to the speed shifter only the gears are the same size
I have an old AFX Magna-Traction 3 gear that the back gear is upside down, and it has a wide brass hook that attaches to the chassis right between the small gear and the front axle, and hooks down then back up almost touching the front axle. I do not have the body. I've probably had it since the 70's or 80's (bought a bunch of stuff from a guy). Would you be able to tell me anything about this little T-jet?
Just got back from my father's house and he found my AFX cars when I was child. Pretty much all of them are magna-traction chassis and a few G-Plus chassis. All cars are from the years 77-79. Would the newer AFX tracks work on these older chassis ? I've got 4 or 5 of those magna traction chassis with the sound box. Thank you so much for this video. It helps me identify the chassis I have.
I've had them all including the Tomy cars.My favorites are the magnatracion cars with mean greens, drag blues and quadralams.I have four complete Super II's but performance is disappointing.
After 20+ years... I'm looking to get back into racing. Hoping you can point me towards some resources to find my current league. Used to be HOPAC... Spent a lifetime a ScaleAuto. Thanks in advance
Vibrator rims have a thicker flange then what was eventually on all standard t-jets. Reference Jeff Ryan (smoken t-jets) yt video vibrator chassis. Terrific how to video on how to make them run. ruclips.net/video/Efhrhh3ib60/видео.html
Outstanding!!!! I grew up with the G-Plus cars and to this day still remember the exact layout!! lol Thanks for the good info.!!!!!
Im glad you made these ID videos . Its really nice when ordering parts especially life likes and tyco . Thankyou sir .

Oh, they have a much larger "post" for the center gear as well.
There were two t-jet chassis. The first had solid rivets and the other had open rivets ( hole in the middle as shown in video )

Excellent video _ Thanks for that!
Very informative. Thank you.

Super helpful video - thanks. What about Screechers? Very similar to Speed Steers. I have 3 if you're interested in one for your collection.
Nice video 👍 What is the fastest one? Is it the one you said you race in your points race, the Magna Traction? Or are they all about the same speed?
I needed this!

"cat's eyes" is another later version chassis I think.

Roger,
Did you get the question answered about the track / car compatibility?
Yes. Any H O slot car should work on any H O slot car track.
I will have to look at my small collection from the early 80's, I have no clue.
I have Magnetraction Magnasonic cars. What front and rear tires do these take and where can I buy them?
Jag hobby's has a nice selection of tires or try slotcar central

What about Mega G Plus?
The 32 runs small tires . the dragsters run tall tires .

It's the otherway around . Vibrators are thin flange and later are thick flange
👍
Those old vibrator cars were hiarious. We loved them but man were they primitive!
Super lll ?
Super lll is an autoworld chassis
Oh ok, That’s right I forgot
