Hello there....nice track and video!!!! Your cars are very fast.....l would like to know if there is a way to make the cars more slowly to see them running. I understand HO is faster than 1/32, and 1/24.
I hear that there is a Control that we can control the speed like 3 different speed but l don't sure. Do you know about this control?
I really enjoy it seeing the cars how runs but more slowly.

Back in the early 70s I had a great set-up. In my basement and I spent all my snow shoveling money on AFX track either banked s curves or larger radius turns, or cars. I would go to hobby store and get my parts that I seen in catalog. That brings back great memories also certain songs also

I had a 18’x8’ 6 lane with 18” ( aftermarket ) ,15”,12” turns except the banks . 6 chutes back and forth and one bridge . Crazy fast on 2 - 12v car batteries (. 24volt ) . Parma 45 ohm controllers . 4 second laps over 1 -1/4 scale miles long .
Gave it away to my buddy because of moving and downsizing . He increased length to 28’ . Ran 2 times per lane rotating new racers In . 6 wins a division , F1 , nascar, sports cars . We kept motors stock and geared it up , stock magnets .
Other friends had 2 - 8 laners , 35’ 4 lane and some other crazy configurations we raced weekly cycling different tracks in the winter months .

I've been slotcar racing since 1964. I have almost every car I ever bought. All are still in beautiful operating condition. It's so cool to see younger people enjoying this great hobby. Best wishes to you both. Meanwhile I'm gonna go test out my new Dash AFX mondo non magna traction chassis as I bought two.

Awesome. I have been mostly toting around all the track I started with in 1968 and recently bought the latest and greatest. Now I have 3 generations of track and its been fun getting the first car I owned bought in 1968 running again. I have a lot of my older cars running again. These new cars are very fast. Love your setup. Would like to know more about how you have the electronics set up, lap counter, starter, etc.

Very cool! Switching lanes racing each others cars....epic. No harm no fowl. 1 race...cars without traction magnets. I’m beggin yah.
Thanks we are still learning what to do when we race we don't got it all down perfect yet, We messed up on the start of the race we had the counter set up wrong we got a lap as we first went passed it on the start too. And now I made a special roll car to roll through the counter for when we change lanes so the counter gets in active mode to count the lap as soon as a car passes when we start the next heat. I want to try racing our Xtraction cars and taking those silly neo button magnets out on the rear of them... I am trying to convince her but I don't know she like blazing speed! How would you race non magnet mega G+ cars pop the rear neo mags out? won't the front just lift up from the springs in the pick ups? and what voltage I am thinking you would need to lower it to like 10V maybe? @@ShenRC I took the traction magnets out of my Mega G Ford GT MK IV, didnt run well. Not fast. Would need a weight. You are correct there, from my one time trying it. Xtraction cars are a blast with traction magnet removed. First time she fish tails around a corner and it wiggles down the straight, she will be hooked. I take an xcto knife and cut a slice out of the round plastic holding the neo magnet. Get a screw driver and flip the magnet out. Yes, there is a slice out but you can re instal magnet if you need to. (I havent) Cheap fun especially if you get cars, pit kit, from Hobby Lobby. I am on 16v. We didnt catch the timer malfunctions. Cars were flyin! lol.
Yeah I tried a super G+ it did not go to well without magnets... I will see if I can get her to race the Xtractions without the magnet. Thanks

Hi please check out our new slot channel everything's happening over there now! BS Slot Cars , The lap counter is carreras digital lap counter and the race control box I got that way back in 2010 and it's no longer being made. Thanks for watching.

Hi thanks take a look at our new slot car channel! BS Slot Cars This was bought in 2010 I had a lot of people asking and I contacted the guy who made it but he no longer makes them anymore. You can do the same thing with a microwave timer control unit I made one for a buddy of mine in like 2003 it worked the same as my unit you set race time and pause button stops and restarts time.

Hi First off We have a new youtube channel BS slot cars everythings going on over there now so check it out. The control box allows you to set a time for race heats and it starts and stops and also has a button for stopping the time from counting down when you press the button for a track call when you deslot. It is awesome but unfortunately they do not make it no longer. I like using the carrera digital loverhead ap counter. 68 year old here. So when I was 12 back in the 1960's my friend and I both had HO scale tracks. We had to gain some skill driving them as they would fly off on the curves. With your set the cars are much faster. How are they not flying off the track? Has car design changed that much that these new ones stick to the track as such fast speeds? We used to customize the motor armatures and put wide tires on the cars. Are the modern slot cars customizable?

@keyboardtek When I got my first AFX slot car track in 1975 the set came with AFX magna traction cars which spinned out on curves or came off the track at high speeds. Then AFX made the G-Plus cars in 1975 which used stronger magnets under the chassis that allowed the car to stay on the track much better at high speeds. $9 each back then but well worth it, today the Super G-Plus cost $30 each
This might sound crazy, but the action is so fast, in order to slow things down a bit try having a race blindfolded.

It’s more fun using the old non-magnetic cars…you actually have to control the speed with a lot more precision.

So that answers my question above. I was wondering how they stayed on the track without flying off at the curves. Some kind of magnetic design. In the 1960's we had to slow down and learn the track in order to stay on it. No skill needed if magnets are keeping the cars on the track.
I agree. The magnets make these cars far too quick, in my opinion.
Take the magnets off and make it more of a skill game. Very difficult to race without magnets. I have an old Tyco set I used to set up for my kids 20 years ago and they couldn't keep the cars on the track from racing too fast, but it made for a lot of good times and laughs. Great video!
I normally run 1:32 scale in the garage. I want an HO Scale for my game room upstairs. I was having a hard time picking a Manufacturer. I am supposing that you enjoy AFX? Can you help me pick an HO Scale Race Set? Love the video! I just subscribed! Thanks!
Hi I now went with the 1/32 and I still run the ho cars on it with a little tuning done to them and they run awesome on it. But for out of the box ho track the AFX is the best you can get, I will help you pick a set but that depends what your budget is or how big of a track you plan on making in the future 2 lane 4 lane how big you have space or just a little space?. let me know Thanks

Hi that is not AFX that's autoworld I would go with AFX over autoworld. also you want a 4 lane set or a two lane? what are you planning to make guy's buy 4 lanes some times just to get more track to make one big 2 lane layout?@@MeGolf92

How can you enjoy the racing of the cars? Can you even see the cars racing? Watching the video I sure can't see what is what. Please explain how you can tell what car is yours???
Hi you can see them better in person when racing, you can see the colors of the cars very good but on camera it makes them look like a blur more. They are fun to race and zip around the track, these are like the fastest ones we have and you can make them go much much faster than this also with upgrade motors in the ho cars and then they have cars that are like half as fast or less than the indy cars we are running here so theres a type and style of car for everyone's taste. Im a speed freak with everything but it almost seems to fast and it doesn’t seem like much control. Seems like your just pulling trigger and that’s it. I want where you have to go slow around tight turns and then open it up on straights. More realistic .
That was awesome in any case. I’m sure as you say, it’s easier to follow in person and I’m sure as with most speed freaks, your always going to want to go faster, hence these speeds your achieving and even greater.
