Complimenti!!! Posseggo una focus tddi 1.8 90 cv con catena. Tu che hai lavorato in Ford, la catena andrebbe cambiata oppure è eterna? Grazie e complimenti ancora per il video.
Sorry for the late answer. I seem to have missed your comment. For a tddi there's no chain interval. If you would ever start to hear it rattle when it's cold and it doesn't go away completely when it's warm, then you have to change it. For a tdci the chain interval is 200.000km. But I never saw it done and didn't do it on my own 2005 Ford Focus so, just listen for a rattle.
Is there any way to check if the pump timing is correct ? I have a 1.8 tddi , after i changed the fuel pump i have a massive power loss , it start perfectly and works as usual , but it cuts the power after i drive a bit . If i stop the car and then restart it , it will work good , and then it cuts the power again . I tested with autocom , and i have errors p1564 and p0167 . As i heard those errors occurs when the pump timing is bad . How can i check it ? Also , can this be the problem , as it starts and runs perfectly fine , just has no power ? Thanks
If that's done and it still doesn't work, send me an e-mail: stevendemonautomotive@gmail.com I have the correct belt installation manual for you. If that's all good, there's something wrong with the EDU. Normally when I see that code I just send the EDU directly to a revision center. But in your case, with a new pump, I would check everything first. My guess is that it isn't coded to the ECU. If your Autocom can't do it, just go to the dealership I would suggest. My Autels can do it but that's an expensive buy for a one time use.
@@demonautomotive2726 It was not a new pump , it was a used one , and it was virginised so it will work with any Ecu without pairing. The reason I don't try to go and get it tested and repaired by a mechanic it that it's an old car , I only use it as a beater, and it s very hard to find someone who know to work with this pump . But it really annoys me as the startup is perfect , I litteraly just touch the key and the car starts , so I don't really think the timing might be the problem.
@@demonautomotive2726 It already was , when I changed it a mechanic said he virginised it , by removing the pair with the donor car , so the pump can be paired with any car , not mattering the code , so it was paired . I don't think this is the problem , as the car start and drive , just with a power lose , the pump is restricting fuel . There is something else concerning me , if I erease all errors , and then start the car with the tester connected , it will show a error on the intercooler sensor , and then adter driving a bit this error dissapears and the pump one shows up . I changed the sensor , and even the sensor connector , but it still do the same . Could it be from my tester , as it is a cheap one ?
Thanks for the video! Is it possible for the chain to jump on these from bump starting? I believe its possible on the 2.4l. Whats the best way to check if the chain has moved?
No no no, than you would have a tensioner or chain guide issue. Well a good indicator is a loss of power, rattle when cold or/and a correlation fault code but whenever in doubt I would just open the cover and check it out. It's not worth it to drive your engine in the soup as we would say it here.
Thanks! It won't run now. The starter motor was gone, which is why i was bumping it. I have changed the starter. It now turns over but won't start. Someone said the timing might have jumped from bumping it
@demonautomotive2726 yes mate coded it in got fuel at the injectors when I crack the pipes off fires for a second when I squirt it with a bit of brake cleaner but won't run on its own
I replaced the cambelt earlier this year and had no problems the same way you've done it in this video but when i tightened the main pump nut ive got a feeling its moved a tooth now don't know how to make sure it's definitely timed right@demonautomotive2726
Brill work - I like your style

Did you perform the learn in- process with a scan tool?

Wrong, get a scan tool and learn it in to the car. You need to synchronize it.

how is the camshaft synchronized with the crankshaft if they are not on the same belt?
With a chain. Pretty good engines, one of the best in my opinion.

It's not giving any codes other than p1000 on a handheld obd11 reader
Cam belt looks fine, but I guess I need to check if the piston is at tdc when cam belt thinks it is....
Does it crank fast enough? Fuel pump in the tank running? Does it start on break cleaner?
I've just changed the fuel pump on a connect tddi now it won't start got a feeling the cam is out of time with the pump
Did you learn it in with a scan tool?

Did you put a vacuum on the return side of the pump and then try to start?
@@demonautomotive2726 no I didn't mate
