- Triban RC120 is the best road bike you can buy for under SGD 600.00 at Decathlon and is one of the very best cheap road bikes.
Even at this cost, the Triban RC120 looks, feels and rides like a proper road bike. It has everything you’d expect on a bike costing much, much more, with few obvious cost-cutting measures, certainly when it comes to the overall performance of the bike.

Best video about this bike on RUclips thank you 🔥🔥😎
Thank you so much
This is my commuter to work from CCK to P.Panjang(18km).yes everyday!I've been riding for a year.changed front chain ring to sram red ones.rubbers to conti gp n ultegra brake set.
Nice…
how is the performance after the mod….did you notice any difference?
Cons: no rear derailleur hanger ...😜
Owning this bike for half year and every time i sit on it and start cycling its just amazing, comfort, easy to drive, fast, shifting is good, super good for heavy hills...but I just dont know why its not possbile to have on front derailleur in low gear and on rear derailleur also i low gear because then chain starts to make noises because its hitting on first Cog wheel, they all say this is normal, for me its not, otherwise super bike for 450€ for me best buy so far!
After riding it 1000 over kms I never faced this issue, maybe because I do little to no climbs and do not use low gear...I’m mostly on flat roads.
let me try that today🤪
You can click front derailleur one small click without shifting, front derailleur has 4 positions it seems
I think I have exact same issue as you, front small ring, back small cog. Flap the left paddle one small click, moves derailleur over and sorts problem out. Or, what I seem to do with this bike, flick up to large ring and down two cogs on the rear. Lots of overlap with the gears on this bike
I understand about those small "shifts" but for me this is not practicaly and more important i want to enjoy not bother with shifting so in my case this "small shifts" just solve chain not hitting front deraliur and dont solve hitting front cog... because of course chain "fizicaly" can not be straight in this pozition, but when i shift on high cog and have last also in smallest cog, then is ok, so i am now using front small cog for hills, and big for straight and downhills.
I have rc 120 Amazing road bike
Road my friends Bianchi and of course it was slightly superior to my Triban however...I was able to have so much more confidence in my Triban RC 120. I thought man the value proposition is crazy with the Triban.
Nice video 😀👍 , whatz the weight of this cycle & US$ price in 2022 ?
Weight is around 10kgs and approx cost should be USD 400
35C also fit. Brake Calipers are limit. Frame fits even 42C
Good to know...its time for me change my tires...might go for 32 this time
@@JonesGeorge Schwable CX Comp 700x35C are great value and fit plug and play :)
This bike was really easy to assemble ruclips.net/user/postUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA and required very few adjustments out of the box. The wheels did not require any truing/adjustments. The frame had some small scratches, but nothing major.I did replace the seat though - the seat it came with was very uncomfortable. The tires need to be re-inflated every 4-5 days, but this appears to be quite common for the narrow 700x25 tires.Overall, in my opinion, this bike looks and rides like a much more expensive bike.
no price? review should have price
Can you put 32 tires as it is? I mean without changing wheels and brake calipers
I’m yet to try that, but from the space available it seems that 32 tires can easily fit without changing wheels and brake calipers
Keep cycling, nice video
thanks buddy…i will…its the best form of exercise.
can i change the wheel to 650B ?
Nice looking bike. Is the material for this RC120 frame the same as for the RC500 or RC520 ? Thanks in advance for your reply.
Bit late here, but the RC500/520 have different frames than the RC120. They are significantly lighter.
Nice! I am 189,5cm and I will buy one, but i'm in doubt betwen L and XL. What's your recommendation?
I’m 181cm and I brought xl, but I feel that nots little big for me…but after using it for a year now and after 4600km….I use to the size now and I feel quite comfortable.
since you are 189.5cm xl would be very comfortable…but I will strongly recommend to get a test ride before making a choice.
@@JonesGeorge thanks for your impressions and opinion. After I take mine I’ll share my impressions. Can be important for others With the same doubt!
@@rdgpiva good luck with the purchase
After more that 2 years, I’m here. IThink that XL is little big, but I change the stem of handlebar (just 9 dollars!) for one with 50cm rather tham the original with 110cm and them became perfect! The bike is resistent and confortable. Fast too! I normally drive 80km on sundays and it’s pure pleasure! No tire punctures to date. Just joy!
can you please tell me which Bottom Bracket Wrench i need to use in order to replace the Bottom Bearing
and which size of it (Bottom Bearing) fits the tribal rc120
Sorry mate…I just opened up the bottom bracket once for cleaning…it was a tedious task…hence never dared to do it again 😜
And your question is to technical for me to answer😕
Beautiful bike. It would be perfect if it wasn't for the integrated hanger. If you get it bent you lose the frame.
Not really, their are tools for that.
@@maartends6051 There are tools for sure, but aluminium is not fond of cold bending, bend the hanger roughly or a few times and the frame is lost.
Same sentiment. I wanted to buy this bike but upon learning the hanger is integrated, i looked for other bike brands.
Keep rolling
Singapore price?
SGD 570 from Decathlon
I don't know how to use the gear shifters.

Hi how tall are you to ride the XL? i’m 180cm+ and the medium seemed more comfortable for me. thanks in advance
I heard other people going down a size for Tribans. People who normally go XL, going L, etc.
Can we use it for long tour like 2 days
I have never tried it for long tours, but from the endurance perspective I believe it can handle the pressure. I have completed 1800km this year so far and still going strong with just basic drivetrain maintenance and cleaning.
im 6ft 2 q60-165lbs, xl would prob be best fit or l?
It's impossible for people online to answer that for you. Probably XL. Probably.
True…not possible for me to recommend perfect size for you…its always recommend to do and test it yourself.
We going for a large boys, risk it for the biscuit
Road bike or touring bike ?
Its an hybrid of road and touring bike. Since it’s slightly heavy as compared to other road bikes maintaining average speed is slightly difficult. But as per my riding experience of 2.5k km so far its very sturdy.
@@JonesGeorge Hi , bought this bike yesterday and just had my first ride . My chain makes rattling sound when my front gear is on 1 and the rear gears are on 7 and 8 . Does yours chain do the same ?
@@nicklion when I brought mine was smooth…later when I had a fall I started experiencing rattling sound…Its caused due to slight misalignment of the rear derailleur. I did slight alignment by referring to the below video and it was fine.
ruclips.net/video/UkZxPIZ1ngY/видео.html
Or take it for service center at Decathlon or Any local bike repair shop for realignment.
@@JonesGeorge cool thank you
How many gears does it have in the front and in the back?
When we talk about how many “speeds” a bike has, there can be some confusion. The marketing department likes to multiply the number of cogs by the number of chainrings because big numbers are impressive. But the fact is there’s actually a lot of overlap, so a 9×2 doesn’t really have 18 gears. People who actually ride bikes only refer to the number of cogs in the cassette, so an 8 speed, a 9 speed etc… They may also mention whether they have a single, double, triple crankset, or they may simply say “9×2” or “2×9”.
Triban RC 120 has 2x8 speed, 2 gears in front and 8 in the rear.
now you can call it a 16 speed or just 8 speed.
@@JonesGeorge thank you so much :)
im 195cm .xl it is good for me?
I’m 181 cm, yet i went for XL, it is indeed little big for my height, but I feel comfortable riding it. I recommend to test ride it and choose the perfect fit.
Sir i am 5'6 in height .. its that ok for a XL size? Ty
I am 5’11 and I was told that XL would be slightly big, when I tried my hands on with display piece in Decathlon I was comfortable with L as well as XL..
I would recommend you to try riding it first. Yes I believe that in corresponding to your height L would be more comfortable for you.
Difference between L and XL is the handlebar size and frame weight. Rest all looked the same.
I'm 5'5 and always ride size small you might be good with a medium but this is already a comfort geometry and already longer than a same size road bike for performance would be. Id say medium or small for you but check the site size chart
No , get small
5'6", you're not an "extra large" man. I'm 6'1" and large fits me perfect
@Jones George In your honest opinion, how is the shifting of the microShift drivetrain on the RC120 comparing it to other drivetrains ie. Shimano drivetrains? Is the shifting smooth as Shimano Claris or Sora groupsets?
What is your honest opinion as I'm interested in the RC120 but abit unsure of the reliability and smoothness of the microshift drivetrain.
Pls share your opinion pls.
When it was new the shifting was very smooth, but now i feel that its giving me trouble. I have to go back and forth to make sure that Im in right gear, cause if not it makes rattling noice…probably i need some maintenance.
1500 km so far…and I have just done basic cleaning, oiling and greasing…its time for a complete overhaul.
what most I like about Triban is that it gives me excellent control of bike…making it easy to maneuver especially when riding through crowded places where pedestrians walk anyhow.
bom dia, por favor para pessoas com 1.55 de altura, qual seria o tamanho indicado? desde já agradeço.
Sorry I dont know Portuguese…i will use google translator and reply…😜
se a sua altura é 155 cm, então você deve usar o tamanho S ou M. mas eu recomendo que você vá para a loja e faça um test ride.
Price kitna hai in Pune?
Kindly check in local Decathlon store for local Price....
In Singapore its SGD 570.00
I find the geometry of the bike to be really awkward.
Coming off a tarmac sl7 I’ve been looking for a affordable bike which is serviceable enough to be trashed on a trainer. This bike was one of the few choices.
That said, to match most modern road bikes geometry, you not only have to slam the stem on this bike, but also purchase am additional negative degree stem. Why they make the head tube so ridiculously tall is beyond me.
Lol microshifter. Its a really cheap and trashy shifter
Ok nub
