    The very, very best part of Steve Rinella's Meateater series is the respect he and his group of hunters show the animals they harvest. There is no fist pumping, yahooing juvenile display. That majestic animal has just died, its life taken from it. I have not seen an episode where the hunter(s) have not shown a profound introspection of the moment and what it means.

    • @nicholasfrancoeur3897

      True. They are almost sad standing there looking at that beautiful animal…I know I would be. It’s important to understand where your food comes from and what it entails to harvest it.

      Absolutely agree. Deep respect to these hunters. They act in a profound and dignified manner, respecting the life they have just taken. It would be a pleasure to hunt alongside such gentlemen. Well done and happy hunting!

      I hunt for a living and have been hunting since I could hold a gun. This isn’t just some hobby I took up because I had some money and read some texts or watched some podcast and felt inspired and inclined to harvest wild game. This is something I was born into and have loved every bit of it and every experience. If you’re not excited and you don’t want to take your opportunities seriously then you should be a bird watcher or a photographer. You all are fairies…

      Agreed. I've done this once in my life. I passed up the largest bull caribou I've been in range of, I let him pass for no reason other than he looked majestic and felt the need to let him live.

    • @matth3708
      @matth3708 12 дней назад

      I agree. Hunting shouldn't be about the spread or points of antlers. He passed on a dominant male that is going to continue to breed for likely years. Hunting should be about food and using as much of the animal as possible.

    A lot of hunters who only get 2-3 animals a year, won’t understand the ‘not pulling the trigger’. When you KNOW that something will present itself later, the small moments becomes so much slower and easier to take in the details. And likewise a nature observer won’t understand how much more beautiful something is to the view when they CAN kill something (with the perfect shot presented), but don’t.
