I read that the real life folklore of werewolves said that they take on ordinary wolf forms but Lon Chaney Jr's wolfman from 1941 was so famously popular back in the day, and that's why all werewolves look like that (humanoid wolves wearing clothes). As Movieflame explained that when 2 werewolves mate, they get beautiful wolf pups, if Remus had embraced the wolf, "BUT" in a positive way...maybe he would b like Greyback but beautifully handsome that would make woman and girls go "WOLF" when they c him. Wolves in real life nature r not just cunning and vicious, they're also sociable, and loyal.
Regarding the twilight thing, in the last book it is explained that Jacob and pack aren't actual werewolves but more like shapeshifters with only one form and that their universe has 'actual' werewolves but these have been mostly eradicated by the vampires from Italy ( forgot their name but the villains in the first and the last book )
You should make a speculation video of the origins of this curse or disease. I always wondered where the curse of the wolf came from in the Harry Potter Universe, maybe it was an experiment gone wrong or something.
The Twilight “werewolves” are not werewolves, they’re spiritual shape shifters. The books say as much. At least, the vampires talk about it. The leader vampire corrects the others, that the werewolves they faced, aren’t true werewolves, merely shapeshifters
Yeah also the vampires were made pretty wrong and did a few wrong details at 1st I thought Edward was literally king of the vampires until i seen the Originals it's more of Elijah or Klaus
Twilight was by no means the first to depict werewolves transforming into a fully animal form. One of my favourite werewolf films, Wolf (starring Jack Nicholson) did that decades ago.
I’m just a casual fan of HP. So I’m glad I found this video. I’ve been wondering about this for quite some time. And I’m not a casual fan by choice. I’ve just never gotten around to buying the books.
I’ve always wondered if each persons Werewolf form looks different. Lupin’s Wolf is the only one seen throughout the movie series, and shares characteristics with Lupin. Lupin is a tall thin man, and his Wolf has disproportionately long limbs and appears emaciated. Would Fenrir’s Wolf form have more proportionate limbs, and appear more muscular? Would him being more accepting cause him to transform into a more complete Wolf form? I wish this had been better explained within the series.
Actually, In twilight; they aren't werewolfs. In the books, it mention that they are more like shapeshifters instead of werewolf because they can willingly turn into wolfs without the full moon
I think that he should've turned into a wolf completely, that's what I thought at least. Probably when they were bringing up the wolfsbane potion and brought up that he curled up in his office I just imagined him being a wolf in a dog bed lol
I frankly think the best depiction of the condition is as it is shown in the Underworld series where it starts as an uncontrollable change but over time the Lycan evolve and adapt till eventually, they can control the change and eventually they can control the change and retain their human minds.
fun fact: the werewolves in the Twilight universe aren't werewolves. They're just shape shifters who call themselves that. And yes it says it in the book, it's a fact that saves the main characters from starting a war
I think along with his savage nature, he may have used magic to make himself appear scarier (like when Hermione magicked Ron's before they broke into gringotts, perhaps) To be fair, In twilight's case they weren't actually werewolves, but shape-shifting spirit warriors that only turned to wolves because of ancestral memory, who just happened to be built to kill vampires. They mentioned real werewolves were more savage and were hunted to near extinction.
That depends. If Lycanthropy is a transformative disease, then hes still technically Human, so yes, he is a cannibal. If Werewolves are a separate species, then no. However, in the case of HP lore, werewolves are infected Humans, so it would be yes.
JK wrote about werewolves and vampires on pottermore. But I like your videos so much! They are really deep and look into more than just facts. They also have emotion in them.
Edward DID say towards the end of the Twilight series that Jacob & his pack are NOT real werewolves 🐺 but rather shapeshifters. It’s only in the books 📚 though, not in the movies. Trust me, I was a REAL Twihard back in the days it was popular. 😉
When i was a kid (before all the movies came out, I’m old) and i would watch the four movies we had i would either skip the 3rd movie all together or close my eyes when lupin turned into a werewolf because its scared me so much. It still freaks me out today
Out of all the death eaters Grayback to me is the most frightening, he loves to infect kids with his disease and even sometimes kill them in the process.
US Native Americans "werewolves" are not the same as in Harry Potter. I'm from Michigan and our "werewolf" is called the Michigan Dogman. Jk didn't do the best research about North American "beast." Her chupacabra from fantastic beasts is nothing like none of the descriptions I've heard of it.
Ya I wish he was more werewolf-like, like more hair/fur I guess and idk what but the face reminds me (and I guess you to) as a chihuahua, so idk specifically what but just change it a bit
4:16 There’s also the fact that the “werewolves” in Twilight are actually shape-shifters that happen to turn into giant wolves. Regarding Fenrir Greyback, I wonder what his full werewolf form looks like.
About Twilight's "wolves" its precised in the book that actuals lycantrops does exists in this world too but the Quileute arent them... you can see it being mentionned by the Volturi when the come to fight the Cullen and see the Wolves. the Quileutes tribe aren't actual "werewolves", their condition is different, thats why the "rules" are different (hereditary, can change on demand and keep their humain mind". If they should be compared to HP's universe they're actually closer to Animagus, except they cant "choose" their animal form and must all be wolves + the fact their all legilimens to each other while on their wolf form.
Gives an all new meaning to the term Big Bad Wolf. In reference to either the Little Red Riding Hood or Three Little Pigs, this would be a definite nightmare for the kids.😀
Its a pretty common urban fantasy concept that werewolves can change at will as they get older. It also depends on the series if they turn into a giant wolf or go they Harry Potter route and have a monsterous look.
I very much enjoyed the subject and found your information fascinating. Thank you! I hope you and yours have a wonderful new year from me and mine, here in Texas.
It's because he had embraced his wolf side and found the balance between the two is why I believe Lavendar Brown wasn't actually killed but became infected
4:14 you shouldn't hate Twilght's werewolves, the movies dont explain it right. The books explain, those weren't werewolves those were shapeshifters. The vampires killed all the known actual werewolves
He had embrace his wolf form (unlike most werewolves who rejected their wolf side) and become one with it so that's why his human form also have some wolf features. (My theory )
Twilight werewolves are just pretty big wolves. HP Werewolves were absolutely terrifying beasts. Hey, when i was smaller, i would not watch any werewolf scenes in PoA due to this.
Lupin explains it when he tells Harry about Dumbledore sending him to recruit werewolves to the Order's side. Some of the werewolves have shunned society and sometimes steal to survive and some like Greyback are cannibals who kill to eat. He probably lived in the woods running around naked, not washing himself or anything like that.
Why would you think nobody would think nobody would be interested in this topic!? I delayed Choclet Biscuit for this amazing video Dean, CHOCLET BISCURT.
The wolves in twilight are actually shape shifters. There are people who can shift into other animals. Though they do talk about werewolves in the books.
Great Video! I think Greyback was still trying to build his army, albeit he probably left much of the organizing aspect to younger werewolves, if not "apprentices" of his own. If anything, he probably would have been eventually killed by his own underlings at some point, seeing him as a liability to their cause. Assuming he had raised and trained a pack of true believers in his cause, away from Wizarding Society. Also, in regards Greyback and Voldemort, I think they would have quickly went to war with eachother if the Death Eaters were victorious at the Battle of Hogwarts. Death Eaters vs the Werewolf Army. Now that is a tale that I would love to hear your perspective on 🙂
The only thing that he is, is pure bloodlust. Human or wolf. He embraced his Lycantrophy and used it to his advantage. He is a scary, horrible being. Human or not. Can you imagine he would actually roam around in the real world? I'd be scared shitless!
I find your mention of twilight quite funny as i never saw them as Werewolves just a whole family of Animagi that like wolves. As they go full wolf not 'Were'wolf, which of course as Snape said,(paraphrased) Is Half man half Wolf.
Greyback has embraced his monster more than any werewolf ever has. So much so, he's become rather wolfish, even in human form.

To be fair, In twilight's case they weren't actually werewolves, but shape-shifting spirit warriors that only turned to wolves because of ancestral memory, who just happened to be built to kill vampires. They mentioned real werewolves were more savage and were hunted to near extinction.
I love you content please keep it up man 🙂
That intro is pretty sick
I've never been so early for a video lol. Great vid!!
Is Greyback considered a cannibal?
Technically, yes
It's implied he even did it in human form, or at least targeted them as a human so yes.
Yes,and cannibals really creep me out so I'm sure you can imagine how I feel about Grayback.
@@katarinabrunk8698 I guess everyone gets creep out by cannibals or at least i hope so! hahaha
That depends. If Lycanthropy is a transformative disease, then hes still technically Human, so yes, he is a cannibal. If Werewolves are a separate species, then no. However, in the case of HP lore, werewolves are infected Humans, so it would be yes.
Great video as per usual.
I always found it interesting as the movie progressed his appearance became less and less human
Hey I am a big fan
HPF dont forget to ask your fanbase for future video ideas who knows we might have some you haven't thought about
JK wrote about werewolves and vampires on pottermore.
Greyback eating dead Lavender Brown is the single most messed up moment in the films
Video starts at 2:54 Just in case anyone is sick of the ad ;)
When i was a kid (before all the movies came out, I’m old) and i would watch the four movies we had i would either skip the 3rd movie all together or close my eyes when lupin turned into a werewolf because its scared me so much. It still freaks me out today
Prob not first but somewhere near it
Out of all the death eaters Grayback to me is the most frightening, he loves to infect kids with his disease and even sometimes kill them in the process.
I knew it already.
Your vedios are generally precisely picturised books.
Btw nice work.
Her elves are also pretty different. It's her story and she just used the name. Cut some slack there
Always wondered about this topics! Thanks!
Thank you for another great video.👍👍👍
I always wondered this.
I wish the Harry Potter werewolves looked more wolf like. Curse or not, they made Lupin look like a werechihuahua. . .
Ya I wish he was more werewolf-like, like more hair/fur I guess and idk what but the face reminds me (and I guess you to) as a chihuahua, so idk specifically what but just change it a bit
@@prometheuslens7825 I actually think thicker hair would have done wonders for it alone. Didn't ruin the movie or anything, but just an over all miss😋
I wish they stuck to the books description. I really don’t like the way the werewolves look in the movies
I think it had to do with studio limitations.
Werechihuahua? nah more like werecoyote
4:16 There’s also the fact that the “werewolves” in Twilight are actually shape-shifters that happen to turn into giant wolves. Regarding Fenrir Greyback, I wonder what his full werewolf form looks like.
Twilight wolves are shapeshifters. They chose the wolf shape. Werewolves cannot choose and do not (normally) want to be the wolf.
If they should be compared to HP's universe they're actually closer to Animagus, except they cant "choose" their animal form and must all be wolves + the fact their all legilimens to each other while on their wolf form.
rest in peace to the actor that played greyback
Do you do podcasts by any chance? 🤔 I absolutely love your videos BTW, maximum love & respect 🙌
So you may have already done a video on it if so please leave a link but why wasn't serious infected when he and lupine fought
Twilight wolves arent called werewolves, the ones from harry potter would be called moon children or something like that in twilight
It's because he had embraced his wolf side and found the balance between the two is why I believe Lavendar Brown wasn't actually killed but became infected
If She wasn’t killed I think She was like Bill but with bigger scars
4:14 you shouldn't hate Twilght's werewolves, the movies dont explain it right. The books explain, those weren't werewolves those were shapeshifters. The vampires killed all the known actual werewolves
YES I’ve always wondered this !!! love your videos. Fenrir is terrifying
He had embrace his wolf form (unlike most werewolves who rejected their wolf side) and become one with it so that's why his human form also have some wolf features. (My theory )
There are so many magical beasts and beings in the wizarding world and so much to be curious about!
The wolves in Twilight are shape shifters that retain their human consciousness. Even Aro recognized their difference from Werewolves.
When Dumbledore meets Greyback in Book 6 it’s one of the few times that Dumbledore is disgusted he is disgusted by the mere sight of Greyback
Twilight werewolves are just pretty big wolves.
HP Werewolves were absolutely terrifying beasts.
Hey, when i was smaller, i would not watch any werewolf scenes in PoA due to this.
actually those are not werewolves
I always love your videos! =]
I've never cared for werewolves who don't look half wolf and half man looking at you Twilight and Werewolf in London
Awesome vid Dean can you please do a video on Why Dumbledore hired Lockhart And can you do a video on the Nimbus broomstick company
What happens to the Muggle if they become a werewolf?
They can't
Muggle blood couldn't survive a bite were as wizarding blood can
I'm thinking they would die from the curse as if it was poison. Or they would just be ripped to shreds.
Also, as apex predators, why don’t werewolves attack Animagi witches/wizards?
Kind of a moderately long story.
Since Lycanthropy causes severe biological changes it would probably kill them via heart failure and such.
I really wish we could’ve seen him go full werewolf in the movies I imagine he’d be terrifying more so than Lupin The dude was fucking massive
I am a big fan
Why would you think nobody would think nobody would be interested in this topic!? I delayed Choclet Biscuit for this amazing video Dean, CHOCLET BISCURT.
The wolves in twilight are actually shape shifters. There are people who can shift into other animals. Though they do talk about werewolves in the books.
Nice Vid
I think greyback looks cool with the look
Ohhh we're interested!
