@@mpchead may I ask if you use them directly from YT with an converter? I always think it's not really worth it, because the quality isnt't good enough, and i don't finish many beats with YT samples. but if you do it, I would definitely continue doing it 🙂

Hey I just came across your RUclips channel and I'm trying to hook up by Triton keyboard to my MPC X what inputs are you plugging your old-school keyboard in demonstrate will you plug it into
I'm just sending an rca cable from the outputs of my keyboard into the my sampler. simple in/out connection. You have the line in inputs on you X, that works fine.

This is a great example of how to make a sample collage. Sometimes the samples are discordant but that’s where the magic lies - in making things that shouldn’t fit with each other work. Well done Marlow. Looking forward to hearing that big ass organ in the background in a beat one day!

What's up Marlow? Thank you very much for sharing!!! Watching you sample keys from your Yahama with the little chord progressions kind me look at the sample process in a new creative way. I've sample from keyboards in the past when I use to have the AKAI MPC 2000x, but I was not sampling multiple cords, I was sampling single chords. Now I'm ispired to try something different. This video also motivates me to get more into music theory because I have a love for keyboard progressions
Because I don't understand much about chord progressions I tend to sample randomly and figure it out later.

No, you can do it in any sampler.

No, some producers do no layering at all. But just look at it as music. normal bands also layer their instruments together

So you ran out of LP's to sample from and decided to make your own chords!?! Awesome result. When you hooked up the kids Yamaha keyboard I feared the worst but DAMN, you found some nice Rhodes-alike sound and laid down some sweet chords. And with the added samples pure gold was struck! Loved the flipping the script part. Makes for way more interesting listening when artists add something that breaks up the song and then return back to basics.
That Yamaha is surprising. You ll see me now and again sampling keys ✌🏽

No filters on the keys. That's how they sound straight from the yamaha believe it or not.
@@mpchead I think I just assumed you filtered them because you normally have such warm filters on all your sounds in your other videos

I found it in a flea market, was just luck I guess. I usually look for old cheap keyboards like Casio, Yamaha, bontempi etc

I never worked with the Maschine so I can't say. Mpc One or X works great for sampling. Mpc X is expensive but if you can afford it then go for it.
