- Had a few issues with this Toyota. But a tune up, pair of horns & a gas cap seem to clear up the issue

I love how you work on a left handed drive, and also a right handed drive of the same model for our friends across the pond. You are a true diplomat Sir Kenny.
Lol 😂😂😂😂
Always educational Kenny great job.
With my Toyota I use Toyota parts even the gas cap. Just saying! But I do like your videos!!!
Thank s
nice triple duty repair vid, only makes sense to put on a very light dab of antiseize, it sure looked like the plug u pulled out was a standard by the center electrode thickness, I've been having a reoccurring large leak with a gas cap message after i replaced with OE cap and checked for any corrsion around the filler neck, i guess ill have to smoke the filler neck to check for leaks down the tube, thanks for posting
Good job. I usually use a little anti seize on my spark plus as well, especially on fords.
Great information. I drove for 3 months after changing thermostat with no issue. All of sudden one morning gmc truck started to overheat.pulled over and loosened overflow cap till it burped out a air pocket. Added coolant and haven’t had an issue. Never had a air pocket gather and cause an issue like this. Now I know what can happen if not burped after working on a closed system.
Bet they were the original plugs & the fuel cap is so often the bad boy for evap codes Cheers hope that lingering cold/flu gets better soon.
I remember looking in a Chilton's repair manual for no oil pressure said broken oil pump or out of oil
New subscriber , love your video's keep them comming , do have a question , did the customer approve an upgrade to iridium plugs , plugs you pulled out were copper and very cheap plugs in comparison to the upgrade ???
i would have had the parts store supply me with the correct cap. in my opinion if the customer looses the cap you should have to replace it beause of incorrect parts. i never use aftermarket gas caps always something different
I always use anti-seize on the plugs. All it takes is one time trying to get a seized plug out to convince you to do it. I also use some dielectric grease on the spark plug wire (or coil) because I have ruined wires in the past because they seized to the spark plug.
My GF gets mad when I click the gas cap closed because she has a hard time getting the cap off then. Told her it would cause problems if she leaves it lose. She still does it though lol..
Take some Petroleum gelly on the seal on the gascap. She will never complain anymore.
I anti-seize mine also and lug nuts.
I've used 3/8 fuel hose one the plug or an old long plug boot
What they save not replacing plugs , is burned in gas . Then the coils are stressed with that wide gap . They also leave themselves open when they bring it to a dishonest shop that has no mercy . Great tip.on the gas cap .
#6 cyl and running rough when started poss head gasket failure
Note to self: You can put anti-seize on spark plugs but some people claim it will cause a misfire. Take it easy on the amount.
Don’t need no stinking torque specs on spark plugs . Just tighten down with a 3/8 drive and it’s good to go
i use anti seize on everything, and silicone grease stuff never gets stuck or corrodes
Kenny why did you switch the type plugs you used? The ones that came out were copper plugs or platinum plugs. And the ones you put in were iridium. I have run into vehicles that when you switched the style of plugs it caused problems. I usually try to stick with the type the manufacturer put in originally. Even the brand can make a difference...
I did get something out of your video thanks
Hey enjoy your videos I have bought 2 new cars from the same dealer Both sales men said to me and my wife you don’t have to change spark plugs anymore I looked at my wife and she rolled her eyes. Any thing to make the sale nothing has changed you still need to do regular maintenance
Right... Some of the dodge engines I know atleast 10 years ago needed plugs every 15 k miles still. Like my dad's Dakota with a 3.7
Where are you in NC? Charlotte here.
To hand start the plugs
I have a 2002 4Runner with a number 3 misfire. 6 cylinder with thepassenger side coils driving the drivers side plugs. Pulled the coil and plug. Nothing ob ious with the coil, but the plug was coated with gas. Bad coil?
Bad coil, bad plug, could be a stuck open injector. Hi It's Mrs Wrenching. Go on our Facebook page WrenchingwithKenny & Backyard Mechanics (make sure you answer the questions for ByM) & post your question there. We have so many knowledgeable people who can help you. Keep Wrenching!
Sounds appropriate, what did it end up to be?
@@dmironyuk Coil, but the aftermarkets are different. They don't lock on the plugs. Creates a large gap that allows moisture and fouls the connection. I used clear silicone to seal the gap.
@@ExtremeRecluse interesting, thanks for the input.
no one knows.....what is the thingy in the center of the cap???? hey on the drag racing in the city...the cops used to turn on the fire hydrants and flood the road! is that crazy or what!!
1148 keyword 🍌🍌🍌🍌 love it😅
Note to self: Old school coils used to have oil in them, new ones do not.
The reason why is for heat dissipation. Newer coils might use something like epoxy for the same purpose these days.
Someone needs to show you how to adjust your phone so everything is not "backasswards" !!
Anti seize on spark plugs does not cause misfires. That's another garage myth. 32 years in the service business and I have never seen it happen. But I have had plugs snap off!
Algorithm boost
Wouldn't want to check the oil on that thing, you might find it needs a new engine on top of everything else. The maintenance neglect is telling
Note to self: The horn is shaped like a clamshell, sort of. With that being said, you have to install it face down so that water does not intrude into it.
Why is your video bass ackwards? Unless you are working on right hand drive vehicles you are in what used to be called negative exposure.
Those plugs must have been the original build...🤔🤔😳😳....You guys still running around in 4.0 litre cars???..How do you afford the gas?...🤔🤔😳😳🇬🇧
