    Hey Matt,
One of the first videos I ever saw of your's was the A340 flight from Abu Dhabi to Narita and it was one of the most incredible and well put together videos I had ever seen. It truly fanned the flames not only for my love of aviation simulation, but also for real aviation. So to see that route back would really be a blast from the past! Keep up the great work and I'm looking forward to see what you have for us in the future!

    Few interesting ones for you.
    1. IF there is scenery, I'd suggest to United Micronesia Island hopper from Hawaii to Guam.
    2. The Hawaiian Airlines inter-island routes in the 717.
    3. The Amsterdam - Singapore - Bali route.
    4. Fly the Caribbean Jetblue legs using the Wilco E190 Kappa

Hi Matt, hope you are well. I have thoroughly enjoyed this series with the B747 into St Maarten, thanks for taking the time to make it. The return to Amsterdam goes via Willemstad Curaçao Hato Airport (TNCC). Tui Netherlands also do the same rotation with the B787. Thanks, Jonathan.

Hi Matt, the 747 used to fly from Amsterdam down to Sint Maarten and then it used to hop across to Curacao. They would then fly back with enough fuel for CUR-SXM-AMS. Hope this helps and once again, keep up that amazing work. You do an excellent job every time and don't let the trolls takeover. Happy landings! jackspiano on Twitch

Loving the full in-depth flight videos, great stuff. As a suggestion I would love to see an ultra long-haul route, in the spirit of QR's DOH-AKL world's longest flight that started 2 months ago with the 77L, although I'm not sure what scenery there is for DOH so might have to be EK from DXB. Maybe you could mix in some polar ops stuff too, potentially DXB/AUH/DOH-LAX/SFO/SEA on the 777?

    Hey there Matt,
    Great video !
Like some said, KLM785 (which was the original name of the flight with the 744) Took off from AMS to SXM then went to CUR for like 1/2h then left CUR to go back to AMS.
AF does a direct route from Paris CDG to SXM and Back without any stop on their A343 and the KLM A332 does it also from AMS to SXM and Back to SXM without any stop ! (Same goes for Air Caraibes in their A332 from ORY to SXM and back to ORY).
The paticularity with Air Caraibes is that they take off from rwy28 instead of rwy10 !
Arkefly (Tuifly) also does it just like KLM 785 used to do it.
    Hopes this helps !
    Cheers !

currently KLM operates the a330 on this route and they go direct to Amsterdam. when they operated the 747 they flew to Hato intl. (TNCC) for catering and fuel, from Hato intl. they flew back to Amsterdam.

Hi Matt, I like the in depth videos you have been creating. Keep them up 👍🏻
Here's a suggestion for another in depth flight...
British Airways now flies the 777 from Heathrow to Madrid and vice versa.
The flight number for the outbound journey in the 777 (EGLL -> LEMD) is BA458 (Callsign: BAW71MA)
The flight number for the inbound journey in the 777 (LEMD -> EGLL) is BA459 (Callsign: BAW45EM)
I'm looking forward to more in depth flights in the near future :)

I think a flight out of TNCM to maybe Miami or somewhere in Florida next would be awesome. Then you can show us that awesome departure out of TNCM and how you would handle it. Maybe in the 777 or the 747 to make it a little more challenging

A little series from london heathrow to either Dubai on an a380 or 777 or Bangkok on a 747. From there down to auckland new zealand and then down to wellington in an air new zealand a320. Wellington is a good challenging approach I think you would enjoy flying it.

Airbus A330 (nowadays): Amsterdam - St Maarten - Amsterdam (AMS-SXM-AMS) . Boeing 747 (previously): Amsterdam - St Maarten - Curaçao - Amsterdam (AMS-SXM-CUR-AMS). KLM nowadays uses the A330 to fly to St. Maarten. But before november 2016, they used a B747.

Cameron Wright Yeah that might be the case now because they use the A330 (i think it was the a330?!) but when they used the 747 they had to refuel on another airport

  • @briangiles-phillips3345
    @briangiles-phillips3345 7 лет назад

When you mentioned that KLM re-fuels on the way back, it is partially true. When KLM used the MD-11 and B747-400 they rarely re-fueled and flew back direct to Amsterdam without re-fueling. They take off on runway 28 as usually (they still do the same even till present day). Since KLM's switch to the A330-200 on this route, they often re-fueled at Guadeloupe airport (on French island of Guadeloupe-which is around 50 minutes away from St Maarten), during seasons of severe weather.
Air France also operates this route, but from Paris Charles de Gaulle to St Maarten, but with an A340-300. Upon departure from St Maarten, the Air France A340-300 takes off on runway 10 and makes a sharp turn to the right just less than 3 minutes after rotating off runway 10, just before the tall mountains.

KLM used to fly the 747 from St Maarten to Curacao airport in Aruba to fully refuel, then fly all the way back to Amsterdam. They now fly directly in the A330 service.

you've got the dash 8, don't know if you can get the q300s or if you can only use the q400. however, in new Zealand we have an airfield called Queenstown, Air New Zealand link operate into it in the q300. its similar to Innsbruck but less mountainous. that could be pretty interesting, Auckland to Queenstown, its about an hour/ hour and a half flight time

Matt, I hope you could do a flight from Amsterdam (EHAM ) to Quito (SEQM) on the Boeing 777-300ER, after your return flight back to Amsterdam from St Maarten. I flown this route on my flight simulator, and I crashed on the final turn to runway 36 using the standard ILS approach. It's just so hard to control the speed when you have to land at an airport that is located at such high altitude.
