Reebok is proof that shoe companies do not need to over engineer their shoe models and is really a value for daily use. They don’t over sell with marketing hype and gimmicks claiming their shoes will shave off seconds of your run.
Bullshit. My Floatride Energy 2 lasted 60, yes 60, miles before ripping on the sides on both shoes! Reebok is garbage. There are so many better options. This shoe is beyond ugly as well.
My favorite part about the Reebok line is the traction. They were my first pair of "real" shoes when I started running and they are really an All Weather type of brand. And the sales. The sales the sales the sales!
I had two pairs of the first iteration, this shoe is one of my all time favourites. Find them for 50 and 72 euros and i put a lot of work on them, 800 km or so in each in road and light trails they perform superbly as a daily workhorse, can´t wait to have version 2
The Supreme Eddmeister of ye Olde Yeovil Hamlet has knocked it out of the park again. I know you are a RBK fanboy and fully justified. I started wearing Floaty's upon your recommendations, I appreciate their softness and mileage abilities, they are zero of any speed but thats not their "thang". I've had 3's and 4's but not the Symmetros, so who knows this could the time....thanks big boy for another hit
Sometime after this video, they unceremoniously bumped this one up to version 2.5 (for which I couldn't find YT reviews). As far as I can tell, it's a tweak to the upper, e.g., the tongue, eyelet chain, and ankle area. Compared with the ones pictured here, they look like they do a better job of hugging the ankle, as I don't even need to use the extra eyelet (which I usually do). I'm pretty pleased with them so far.
Hi edd 👊 , after finally getting my adventure 4s reebok shock me , wow so comfortable on foot , so next year the reebok line up will be 100% getting a big look in 👍👍👍
I was waiting for this! The Symmetros is one of my favourite shoes ever. Comfortable, all-round, cheap, it truly does not have the attention it worths. Thank you for the review sir!
Great work as always young sir, I got the Reebok Energy 4 but although comfortable found it a bit flat and you commented on my post about this shoe - so after your review now got this one for a cool discounted 65 earth credits, so once I am over my hamstring avulsion injury will take this out for a spin 👍
There's something about the styling of some Reebok shoes that looks really 80s, it looks like a Transformer, love it! Plenty of grip on the outsole too, you won't fall through the bar with those on.
I was positively surprised with Energy 3 from Reebok when I used it for 5K training last year. Not to mention that shoe costed almost nothing compared to other super 'daily trainers' out there. I would try this one if I was training for long distance races for sure. Maybe in near future we can see sub 200 gram 5/10k shoe from them.
Completely agree that Reebok are overlooked. I had a New Balance, a Hoka and a Reebok Floatride this year and the Reebok was the one I grabbed most and actually most enjoyed running in……
Interesting you get the stack at 37/27 when the first edition came out the guys at doctors of running reached out to Reebok about the stack and Reebok list it as 27/17. Must admit I thought it was more.it certainly looks more. Great review 👍
I have saucony ride 15, Puma DN2, Velocity, but this one most comfortable and stylish sneakers I've ever ran. Bought them for 40eur and want to buy second pair. I use them for easy, recovery and long runs. I think, no one pair cant beat them for this price. Highly recommend.
Definitely going under the tree lm a big fan of reeboks value offerings very serviceable shoe for my type of running style distance and regularity 2-3 times a week usually be glad to get these on feet
I've got 320 miles in my Floatride Energy 3 which are also my go to daily trainer. I also have the Energy 4 and the Energy X. Since I only paid £130 for all three pairs, they are definitely the best value shoes out there.
Returning the Symmetros 2 pair I ordered. I have a narrow foot. With the thick firm tongue edge, I found I was getting a rather uncomfortable pressure point on the top of my foot where the laces crossed the outside tongue edge.
Curiously the Energy 4 had an almost nonexistent release in the US. Maybe supply chain related 🤔. Perhaps will pick these up instead for the cruise control longer miles. Cheers Ed!
Nice review, Ed. The Symmetros 2 looks lot more beautiful than the V1. It's definitely on my wishlist. Hoping to snag the orange one for a big discount. I have the Symmetros 1, and I've run 1260 kms in them so far. Reasonably confident of taking them to 1600 kms (1000 miles) at least. Reebok's Floatride Energy trainers are unbeatable VFM.
Thanks, Ed. I'm sold and will purchase this shoe when it's on sale (as we all know it will be eventually) and I need more shoes (which currently I don't). Not sure about sizing, though. I use the Energy 3 now, because the 4 *still* isn't available in the US. Do you know whether the sizing of the Symmetros 2 is any different from that of the Energy 3? On a different note, have you ever thought about doing separate videos dedicated to music instead of just "interludes" at the end (which really makes it more of a postscript, doesn't it?) of your shoe videos? You obviously have enough to say about music to warrant videos of their own about it. I'd watch those too!
I usually have eu 44,5. Also for Symmetros. Energy 3 fits larger, I wear 44. Fits fine, no room however for a thicker Pu insole which I have in the Symmetros.
I have just received a pair of these and a pair of adventure 4s. I took advantage of the Black friday offers and added a birthday coupon discount and got both for 130 euros. Value for money, you just cannot beat Reebok and the shoes are great. My feet just cannot stand cold weather so let´s see if the shoes hit the road before spring but, for the price, who cares?
Reebok is overlooked /c they fell off in a huge way and only recently seem to be trying to reestablish some sporting legitimacy. I picked up a pair of these to see how they've rebounded. Hope they live up to the review.
I loved the Symmetros 1. One of my most used shoes and still looks and feels like new. The only complaint I had was that the upper of the first model was very thin and had zero support. As a supinator the lateral side of my right foot felt tired after long runs or multiple days of use. Seems like they have a more supportive upper this time. Also the insoles started disintegrating after a year of excessive use. But that is a solvable problem. And still the midsole feels fresh! I may look for a pair at some point 🧐
Somehow I think Edd's trying to hypnotise us with his shirt. When we go to bed tonight all we will hear is buy the Symmetros. buy the Symmetros. buy the Symmetros.
I wish I could buy every reebok shoe. I loved the energy 1. I had 4 pairs at some point. But alas I'm trying to slow down. Otherwise these would be in my rotation.
Thanks to ur advice I bought the Energy floatride 4, which I found fantastic. Great value for money. When did u expect next model (energy floatride 5)?
Edd how would you compare this shoe with saucony triumph 20-21? I had symmetros and they lasted long and were really good. I find trimph for 140€ and symmetros for 78€. These Saucony is pricey here in my country...
I've had this shoe for about 10 months now, pretty much since I got into running. I've been thinking about splashing out on a more expensive shoe and I've been watching your videos and I'm just wondering how something like the asics gel nimbus 26 compares. For an average runner like myself running 8min30 miles would I be better saving my money and buying another pair of symmetros?
Bought the energy 4s on your recommendation And they are fantastic for shorter runs but I find anything over 7-8 miles and the forefoot cushioning gives away and the road is very present. Would you say this shoe holds up better? Im 6 foot and 82kg so not a big runner
I used floatride energy 3 previously, i need a good comfortable shoe for walking and sometimes running(1km max), i am confused betweeen puma deviate, reebok floatride symmetros, , adidas ultraboost?

Does the Symmetros have a hard heel counter? or is it totally flexible without any hard plastic? I have Haglund's Deformity in both feet and was recommended this shoe since it supposedly has no heel counter
This shoe is $140 in the US. Not quite the bargain as in the UK. Inflation sucks everywhere! But in the US its little less. Still way to much. Reeboks! Why the huge price difference?

Energy X seriously need full length Floatrite (PEBA) foam instead of a token of it. They originally priced Energy X more expensive than Endorphin Speed and I am sorry to say Endorphin Speed beats it in any category.

How can value only be 2.7? You rave about the shoe, and it’s cheaper than pegs. Surely there isn’t a better value option out there?
