It was on this channel a few years ago that I was first introduced to Jakob. The B roll was mostly from age group European Cross Country champs, and the first thing that struck me was how still Jakob was when he was running. Whilst Cam is a different looking athlete with a different gait to Jakob, he does remind me of him with his still, efficient and effortless looking technique.

His trajectory, before he turns 18 on June 9 this year, seems to indicate he will run a 3.31 1500M (equivalent 3.48 mile) in probably the Eugene, Oslo or Stockholm Diamond League meets prior to the Paris Olympics. And that may be a quite conservative prediction given a fast track, near-perfect weather and excellent pacing. He still looks a bit raw (expected of course at his age). With continued superb guidance anything is possible for this prodigious talent. What will he do when he’s at his peak at ages 21 to 25?

The thing is... Some people peak VERY early in their careers. There have been plenty of teenagers that were phenoms only to disappear by the time they reach 19/20 years old. You see it in all sports. Katelyn Touohy might have been one of those types but she has just gotten better and smarter as time goes on. She's in her mid-20's now and it's safe to say, she's here to say.
