Great to see a couple buddies having fun with this hobby. I also like the way they’ve presented the gist of the game with enough detail and flavor, but without letting the video run too long for viewers to enjoy. Good sportsmanship, food looking armies and dang impressive spell effect models.

You played it right with the Zombie Dragon Giving Ground- I initially thought it was "impassible" terrain, but the Give Ground rule on p. 155 just says "terrain" so contacting ANY terrain will stop the unit from giving ground further. You guys played it correct! However, the Wraith wouldn't be able to join a unit of skeletons. Ethereal on p. 167: "Characters that are not ethereal cannot join units that are, and vice versa."

Haven't finished watching the full video yet. Love the Vampire Count conversion. The old Morgan Le Fey makes a goovampire countessss. One small issue with your force. Sadly, Wraiths can't join none Ethereal units now. A real pain as I too used to love the old Wraith leading some Skeletons aesthetic. Will watch the rest when I get time.
I can feel the weight of that metal black coach with the plastic horses in my hand while watching this. That thing used to terrorize my poor little goblins!
its subtle, but I love how the skeleton warriors are posde identically to each other. its a great contrast from 'shambling hordes' of the zombies to 'automata'', which is in a way even more unsettling.

Seeing such bad dice repeatedly on the orcs broke my heart. Just sad. Good looking battle report though. Dice games can be like that, sometimes you win, sometimes your dice throw the game for you.
He's Azhag The Slaughterer! I think not yet alive on the Old World timeline. No reason not to bring him back made to order tho! Also if you want a smoking hot Wyvern check out Avatars of War. They've got two looks and both are stunning and definitely inspired by this version

I like the idea that the Vampire's illusions make her look beautiful _to the beholder._ So when the entire group of Greenskins rush her at once, they see her as a bloody demon of war. So breathtakingly beautiful to the Greenskins, they briefly forget how to krump.

I'm only sad there wasn't more backstory about why this particular fight was happening, like with the Bretonnians vs. Tomb Kings double feature. Always find a good narrative hook helps me stay invested in battle reports.
Great video and battle loved. Please bring us more Battle reports of Old World. I am loving the game so far. Questions, the move through cover sp. Rule. Says no negative to movement characteristics. Dangerous and difficult terrain. Does this include mountains and hill's? In a battle now and my friend disagrees with. He claimed that hill's are different.
Math wise it's really not outrageous, and if you're taking a lore familiar to guarantee it and the ogre blade you're not going to be able to fit in a ward save.
Random question here, Eric: What is the exact name/brand of the beige-brown color you used for the rims of your bases? I really appreciate the attention to detail in the way you design your battlefields (and magic vortexes). Some battlereport-channels do that too generic they are just about playing the game I guess but the way you do it really makes it such a pleasure to watch it (for me). Greetings from 5th/6th edition player from Germany, slowly painting his way back into the old world.
Both armies are so nicely painted. The Black Coach is a bit dated at this point but with the right paint job like the one here it still looks amazing! Btw, Cairn Wraith can't join the group of skellies. Ethereal can't join non-Ethereal units and vice versa in TOW. Also may I ask where you got that countess model? It's really cool, I don't recognise it though.
Love it. Unfortunately, and much to my own disappointment too as a long time member of the bone zone, your Wraith cannot join a unit that is not also Ethereal. Per pg. 167 of the rules "Characters that are not Ethereal cannot join units that are, and vice versa." I really like your sabot bases for your monsters. I need to do the same for my undead characters on big beasties.
@@EricsHobbyBattleReports yeah. Stick them in a unit with the Cursed Book and you used to be golden. Not sure what the point of them is now apart from running around as a lone operative and maybe forcing a panic test on a low Ld units by charging them? Only unit they can join is Spirit Hosts (and because of the different base sizes they then go off to the side of the unit meaning that there's a chance they won't be in base-to-base so will just get the one attack).
@blastvader the Vampire Counts list is a mess in a lot of ways. Sure it can create an absolute monster of a force, that just screams the opponent into oblivion. However outside of that build it has a lotnof balance issues.

Spectral Doppleganger on charge? Haven’t the Assailment spells been FAQed on charge?
I think you may be thinking of the Convayance spells. Assailments are cast when a spellcaster fights in melee.

Hills are just open ground as far as movement is concerned. Forrests can be declared either difficult or dangerous at the start of the game
