    To think that I'm playing the same cymbals as one of my favorite drummers of all time is so cool. Started watching Alex in 2009 when I started drumming and I've been playing budget cymbals for 7 years up until now. Life is cool sometimes.

    Im a hard hitter. Really am. Im tall, i hit hard.. But never in my life have remotely moved a ride cymbal like this just by hitting it with the tip. Alex is insanely energetic. And a really a good drummer.

    Honestly, I don't like that Alex Rudinger plays so loudly and not so smooth. It's plausible because he usually plays Metal music, as far as I know; And then it is, of course, nice to have such energy. But the differences between loud and silent are not so .. noticeable. Which leads to not many accents and primarily not so effective and meaningful accents. This is how I feel about it. :)

      props for constructive criticism :) and I kinda have to agree with you on that, but still, I think his playing is amazing though, very enjoyable and musical imo

    • @Mediarahan003
      @Mediarahan003 7 лет назад

      Kind of what I was thinking. He has style, and is really enjoying what he is doing. I respect that, but I couldn't help but feel it sounds a bit immature. It doesn't really matter what we think though because his talent is undeniable and there is nothing we can really do to take that success away from him.

    • @chickenbeforeegg
      @chickenbeforeegg 7 лет назад +4

      His whole background is straight technical metal. He's no Joey Baca when it comes to metal dynamics, but he's still killer. Also fully ambidextrous on the kit.

    • @jordanallen22
      @jordanallen22 7 лет назад +3

      I think he is pretty damn smooth. If you could play like that wouldn't you ACCENT EVERYTHING? There is a reason why Meinl keeps posting videos of him

  • @gnuman05
    @gnuman05 5 лет назад +3

    AR is a fantastic drummer, but I feel like the 1st half of this tune could’ve benefited from a more dynamic approach, rather than smashing every note. He totally nails it in the 2nd half though.

      I think it is just right, because he does it like this. you may continue playing your soft parts soft. but bcause this band is his and this music is his i think theres no way, he does anything wrong :)
