This is a great breakdown, it’s really nice to hear someone address the critiques towards the trailer in a very levelheaded and non-hostile manner!

Loved the video! To address some of your views etc, here are some of mine.
For what it's worth, it's more of a teaser trailer instead of an actual trailer. Yes, it's a shame Nessarose and Boq aren't shown properly in the teaser trailer. And I did miss Dr. Dillamond and Koala Settle's character. But I think they wanted to show the most impressive/important shots (without it spoiling too much). At least, that's what I assume. Mostly to impress.
About Dr. Dillamond and/or James Corden. I was thinking about this today, about the fact that we still don't know who's playing Dillamond. Well, what if he's written out of the story/script? I know, even though he's not on stage that much of the musical, I think with some rewriting, he could be written out of it, while still addressing the Wizard's controlling of the Animal population. I don't hope so though, because I like this character (his song is not one of my favourites, but that's another discussion lol). But I do not hope he's being played by James Corden. I'll still watch the movie a 1000 times though lol.
I've also been thinking about the scarecrow. I'm going to try to not spoil anything or at least not too much. But the scarecrow isn't anti Elphaba, but in the teaser trailer he is 'used' by the Wizard to get Elphaba to him. In the musical, the scarecrow was someone close to Elphaba. So I'm curious to find out how they've written this into the script. Will the same character turn in the scarecrow in the movie as in the musical? Or will this be someone else?
About the wedding shot. One of my (first) thoughts was also it being a dream sequence. But they might've extended this storyline in the second part of the movie, in which the wedding does take place and what happens in the musical after Thank Goodness/Couldn't Be Happier happens before/during/after the wedding. I'm curious to see what this will be. Maybe it isn't even a wedding lol.
About the Defying Gravity riff at the end of the teaser trailer. I LOVE IT. I had to get used to it, but it only took me like 2 or 3 times watching/hearing it to get used to it. I do get why people aren't the biggest fans of it though. I think in the actual scene with the music, the shots, the CGI, the ensemble etc. it will give a whole other experience than in just the 2 seconds in the teaser trailer. Plus, the riff sounds shortened in sake of it not being too long to close the teaser trailer.
And about the amount of music in this teaser trailer: yes, I would've loved more hints of songs in it. But as I said already, I assume they just wanted to show the most impressive shots, and in this case the most impressive song. Or even more specific: the most impressive line/riff. I hope we will get hints of more songs in the official trailer. But I think we will. Really hoping for No One Mourns The Wicked and The Wizard and I.
What I am worried about is the "I'm not afraid. It's the Wizard who should be afraid of me." In the musical, between "It's the wizard who should be afraid" and "of me", there's a pause. In the teaser trailer, there's not. I really hope, again in sake of the length of the teaser trailer, the pause was deleted and there will actually be a pause between those two lines. It wouldn't be the worst thing that could happen, but I really don't like how it's said in the teaser trailer.
I do have a theory. I absolutely wasn't the first one to come up with it, but I think (and hope lol) that Kristin and and Idina will play Glinda and Elphaba's mothers. In the shot where Glinda arrives at Shiz (in the boat) you can see the back of a man next to her and if you look really closely (at the end of the shot), there's someone else sitting next to the man - as far as I can see, this is a woman. These must be her parents. So, Glinda's parents will make an appearance.
For Elphaba's mother. In the book, there are a ton of chapters describing Elphie's childhood. Including her mother. Since John M. Chu wanted to expand the story with the book, there's a chance we will see at least a couple of scenes in which we see Elphie's childhood. Or at least in No One Mourns The Wicked, in which we "see" the birth of Elphie.
Well, this was way longer than I expected it to be lol. Here you go!

I don’t think it focused on Glinda more…it’s definitely a good balance between her and Cynthia

I think the other musical part intertwined into the teaser is Ariana singing, "unlimited...."
