You are my new hero. Living circumstances recently changed and I'm in a position to fulfill my childhood dream of owning a horse. Until I was nine, I lived on the back of any horse I could find. Before dark my family would call neighbors to find me. We moved out of town. Until I was seventeen, I would look for any opportunity to ride. Most of the time bareback. I've never saddled a horse. Or had formal training. But I connect with them. Now I'm 56 and all but one person is telling me this is a bad idea. Too expensive. Not strong enough. Not educated. It was driving me crazy until I found your videos. I know i can do this. I've bought a home with land and an existing corral. You are amazing. Thank you so much.
Your videos are how I'm going to make my dream a reality.
How is it going?!
DO IT !!!! ❤❤❤❤ don't let the time come where you're ready to leave this lifetime and you never did it. I can relate in so many ways to your story. It took years to even get my first horse. I earned her working for her on a ranch and was the only one in my family that was in to them.
I had a few horses over a handful of years or so. But it's been years now. Im a busy single mom n keep trying to think of ways to afford one again. You're already on your own land.. WITH A CORRAL.
From one horse lover to another.. if you don't do it... your soul and I will be disappointed 😆 lol
I'm new to everything horses and recently started volunteering at a barn. Thank you for demonstrating the process of cleaning stalls. I'm working on my technique so I can become faster, more efficient and keep waste to a minimum. I'm subscribed to you channel and love your videos!
Me too!!!
Me too!😊
It's been a few years, but I have an interview tomorrow for a barn hand position. I wanted a quick review and this was perfect!!
I’m a professional pet sitter and taking care of three horses this week. I’ve grown up with friends and family having horses but never my own. Glad I found your channel!
There is a horse that suffers from some kind of thing that makes him not sweat but the other day the owner screamed and we got scarred but she screamed because he finally sweat! :)
My horses have an open run-in shed. One thing i would suggest- wear a mask when working with dirt/shavings in a stall. My asthma was diagnosed after cleaning the stall. Didnt know i had it til then.
I do stalls similar to this too. Another tip is after cleaning the pee when you are sweeping is sweep all the old bedding and dirt into the spot where the horse pees the most , that way the old shavings will be used for that and lifted the next time you clean. sift an rake the looser cleaner top layer off and spread that bedding around the rest of the stall and sprinkle some clean shavings over the top of the old to freshen it and the area near the food and water. if you keep moving the old shaving into one area and away from the food you may be able train the horse to use the one area.
I just started volunteering at a horse rescue. I love the videos. I have learned a lot from cleaning stalls to picking hooves, riding, and playing. Thank you
My horses are free range so they can do in if they want and take a nap or go outside and have a graze! I love your vids!
nice thanks I just started working on a farm cleaning horses stalls still learning
I always wanted a horse but my mom says I need a "Hole farm" to have one
And I understand BUT I still watch these :)
BECAUSE you are the best!!
Remember to do your research horses are a lot of work (I have 3) also let your mom know you can always board at a stable near your house
Amazing demonstration grateful to now be well informed
Great tutorial! Thank you. I am moving to a place with two miniature horses that have not been well cared for. I watch your videos to learn how to take care of them. Thank you so much!
You have great energy
I've got a 10 year old AQH mare named Cricket. She stays out nearly 24/7 as she prefers being there, however in bad weather I will take her in! Thanks for the great videos!
I I'm beginner and you have helpd me thank you so much 😁
Just come across your vids and you communicate very well and explain things in a very good way that makes it easy to understand the reasons why you do them for the horse :9)
Love your videos they’re very informative
Your explanations are so clear. It really helps the beginners. THANK YOU. Please keep it up. 💯
I' don't have a horse but you are helping me with what I need to do! So thanks so much

Tthank you. Very helpful info. I am now managing 4 outside stables.
I love your videos!! They help me so much with my horses! And first
Thanks for your support! Glad I could help!
Thank you. I'm looking to help out on a ranch, but haven't really been around horses, so this was helpful.
Just like scooping the cat box on a larger scale. 🤣🤣🤣
Thank you for this video! Your tutorials always help me so much! 🙏🏻
Glad to hear!
i like ur adora profile pic lol
Fantastic!
Yes!! 24/7 out ! I do have a few that need to come in for ice and rain but they only come in to feed, groom, and tack up for therapy sessions with kids! We get bedding by the truck load for free from local company! Very well explained!
~jc
Thank you!
The only thing I don't see here mentioned is that if horses are out 24/7 then it is not good for them to be eating grass 24/7 and it should be fenced off from the main pasture or they get very fat and they can get laminitis and the sugar in the grasses can cause insulin resistance and you can look at their ankles and see the swelling. My friends have for beautiful horses and where the main Barn is when we bring them in that pasture is fenced off from from the main fields since and since we give them hay and feed they don't need to be eating grass 24/7 it is just not good for them.
So helpful!
Thank you, Ingrid!
So satisfying😂

(Should I dm you on Instagram instead?)
You are so awesome I love your horse
I have a question too. How often to replace all the bedding and clean disinfect the mats and stall?
We just got a pair of horses that like to come and go at night from the stall. I usually find one in and one out.
this is my life
I like you radio so much
Can you please do a day in the life video!? PLEASEEEEEEE!
soooo helping ty :)
Old horse has open paddock and pastures to roam when ever he wants. If weather gets bad. He puts himself inside!
Can you please make a video on equasharing a horse (leasing and buying as well)
This is a great video idea!
I think most people don't pay enough respect to equestrians for going through all the troubles on a regular basis.
Also my horse lives outside from 6 AM to around 8 PM where I bring them inside because sometimes where I live there can be a lot of thunder during the night. Not always, but my friend once had a horse that was almost hit by lightening, and I'd rather be safe than sorry.
Outside all day (unless the weather) and inside at nighttime
Can u give tips on how to ride a horse that have much energy on trips? My horse always want to run home and that have made me scared of walking on a trip...
Can you post a video of good toys that r safe to put in a pasture for a horse to keep them entertained?
I worked as an animal caretaker and I did cleaning and whatever I do I wash I feed I have a professional diploma for animal husbandry
I’m literally cleaning the stalls right now :/ 😂also I only take my horses in to feed them or storms or something needed
What kind of mats do you use in the stalls? You said they absorb the horse's pee? That would be so helpful in our barn!
My 24 yr mare doesn’t like being locked in the stall. We have dirt floors so when she is locked in her stall she paws at the dirt and makes holes and hills. I have found if she can come and go she does fine and no holes or hills. Lol
I was thinking of getting a horse.
I want to get a horse but i am afraid in Candian winter would be realy cold at night to stay 24/7 I found another Ranch they are the opposites they let there hourses 3 hrs only in the field.. Which one is right??
It's really up to you, it doesn't really harm the horses in s shall, but it's also not the best for them as they have no way to release any energy. It's really personal opinion. Personally, I think a really thick warm blanket and out 24/7 but it really depends. Good luck!
I have a question to ask you what if you are allergic straw what does help with that? Like me and my mom.
Hi , how many times a day should cleaning be done?

Yup, this is the amount of work I imagined if I were to ever own a horse
How do know how much bedding to put down
How bad is the dust for the people mucking? Like how do we not get it all in our lungs?
My horses stay outside and we’re going to a rodeo or something of the horses hurt or something we put them inside and I’ve been liking your videos a lot but I’m probably going to be putting my horses in stores or for winter time but it’s not very nice weather in Lynx
One of my boys is out 24/7 and the other is still on stall rest- he spent some time in a vet hospital a couple weeks ago, but he can have some supervised time outside now :)
Glad to hear he is getting better!
@@EquineHelper thank you! He was in pretty rough shape for a few days, but he pulled through!
My are in the stables until 6.30am-6pm
the stable i go to frequently turns horses out during the day and brings them in at night, except for 2 horses that have a shelter outside, and one horse that has basically constant access to his personal paddock. our area has a lot of predators and the paddocks are just fences basically, so there's no protection for them. they also get fed in the stables bc they all have different dietary needs and need different supplements so its easier to just feed them in the barn
Hello! I’m 14 and I’m getting my own horse from make a wish and due to my health condition I was wondering if you know any tricks so that I don’t get dust in my lungs 😅
My horses have box stalls that open right onto the turnout. They're only locked in for grain, injury, or dangerous weather. The best of both worlds!
Haha, yes!! 🙌
At my barn, all the horses are out all day and come in at night because the temperatures can get super low in winter and the bugs can get super bad in summer at night.
Is it ok for a horse to have wooden floor
Im a first time horse owner my husbent bought a 6 month old morgan she does not have a partner but she hanges with the other horses at the fence line we put her out every morning for the day is she going to be ok or do we need to get her a partner
i don’t own horses, but when i do, i will keep them in a stall at night and turnout during the day (unless they have injuries, there’s weather issues, they’re gonna be ridden, etc)
how do you find and clean the P spot if you are totally blind i've him you have no eyesight and you rely on your remaining senses of smell touch and hearing?
Wow I never new that a horse needed that much
Hi
Could you maybe try showing us stuff that you shouldn't do while troting
You can clean septic tanks beings that clean up poop.
Btw: my mincher hose loves to be inside idk way
My mincher horse is in at night at 9:00 and at 8:00 he comes out to eats grass and then at 1:00 he comes in and then around 5:00
He comes out and then he is out intell 9:00
Not me doing homework.. I just got hired to muck stalls and while I grew up with horses, I never really had to clean them. My dad did it with a tractor they had a big open stall to the outside.
What do you ultimately do with the manure pile?
Yes, I’d also like to know what is done with the poop pile.
@@janiceellenwood8323 Some people have a pile quite a bit away from any arena, stable, paddock, ect, and then once every so often they get someone to get remove all of it.
And/or they use it as compost.
I spread it on the yard for fertilizer
free fertilizer
The shavings soak the urine up as the rubber mats should be waterproof :0)!
MA'AM........WE NEED A HUMAN HAIR CAIR TUTORIALLLL.....I literally thought she was wearing like a big beautiful fur trimed coat 🤣
My horse is outside 24/7 and he has plenty of hay to eat! But I think he should be inside at nights cuz he is eating a little bit too much😂
😂 My horse too!
I dont have a horse but i take horse back rideing lessens an i want to own my own farm when i grow up
on my horse stud only the breeding horses get a stall
My horse gets turned out in the morning out to his paddock and then turned in back to his syall at night
it's handy that my 2 year old filly uses the restroom in one corner so the rest of the stall stays clean.
Are horse lives her pastor and her stable
My horse lives outside i
what i do is i keep my horse in a stall on saterday for lessons but the rest of the days he is in a feild :D
Like jobs horses
24\7
Wyd with the poop after that pile is all filled up
Compost.
All day outside but the night inside
She likes to stay out. We bring her in if we need to keep her in. She has a cover outside.
I keep my horse in at night and put in daylight so nothing bad happens at night
I don't have a horse
Satisfying..
But next time, better wear a mask..
If the rubber mats absorb pee, won't the pee still stay there...
Why don't they use the toilet they re so dirty
