I don’t even have a horse. But watching videos of people caring for their horses is super relaxing for me. They’re such sweet critters and seeing such a kind and knowledgeable person care for them makes me so happy :)
Thank you this was very helpful. I'm getting back into farm hand work as a volunteer after getting a massive head injury. About to do my first bath today on my favorite horse for my birthday 💜💜💜
I learned the precautions with bathing your horse the hard way 😊 I got my first horse this past August, had him shipped up to MA from FL and on his second day I "attempted" to give him a bath...he pulled me all around the back yard like I was water skiing on land 😬 I should also mention I am new to the equestrian world, he is my first horse, and he is a big paint (16 hands). I have learned so much from your videos and really appreciate your guidance and knowledge. I am working with a local trainer also.
Omg him playing with the water was so precious!! And I bet the scrubbie on his body feels like he’s getting a nice scratch on the back. You’re so sweet and gentle with him, and it seems like he knows it!
Not sure if you have something already- but a video of what to put in a basic first aid kit for your horse would be great! And congrats on 5k subscribers!!!
Loved your video step by step on how to properly bathe a horse…. I’ve had horses in my younger days but was many moons ago. wanted to review the steps because today i’m driving up to my girlfriend’s home in the country an hour & a half out of Nashville & I’m helping her bathe her 4 horses! I can’t wait to get there…. 💗🐴🐴🐴🐴
Great video. Just bathed a horse for the first time because of a skin issue. I've always just brushed my working horses down and they've always been gtg. Little colder here, so I threw a fleece blanket over him after. This video helped me a lot with the whole process. Thanks.
Thank you so much!! My mare gets herself a silly mess!! ♥️ I really needed this guide she has been abused in early life so we don’t wanna scare her and tie her so I just let my mom hold her and we are gonna bathe her today and get her all prettied up because we are getting a trainer tommrow to teach us jumping! 🐴
i think your very good because you take care of your horse so good,i have seen an video about a person torturing the hose and i was so sad but i saw your videos and think your so good
Watching this really late but you say in the beginning about almost. 5k subs and now you have 130k! Look how far you have come! This is a very informative channel! I love you so much
Thank you so much! In about a year, I’m getting my first horse. So I’ve been researching a lot of how to do things and what to do. I mean, I know a year is a while but I want to be ready a while before we get a horse.
Horses are beautiful and awesome animals. They deserve to to be treated with love and respect. I would like to make bath time pleasant for a horse as well as other tasks. Your horse is a sweetie pie!
Yes! Horse lessons are always fun and remember to always listen to your instructor. Unless you’re scared to do something you can work up to that way you won’t be scared and just always listen. Had some kids at our barn and they didn’t listen and our miniature almost had access to the gain because they were messing up our feed. And our miniature could’ve died since HES on a strict diet so always listen!!!
Love the video! Also thank you so much for the videos I feel they could really help if I had a horse. I have a question though, how often would you bath him?
In addition to heat retention, you may want to warn people that the first thing a wet horse will do when released is ROLL! They'll also pick the dirtiest part of the pasture to do so. 😁
I've been a subscriber since when they only had 1k subscribers. I would really love to see a video about backing a horse and mounting them. Like how to get a horsebused to tack and being ridden
Great video, so cute horse you have I love your horse, I wish I had a horse also, they are amazing animals. You are do lucky to be able to have one I hope you know that. Great job Girl
great video. one step missing is sheath and udder cleaning. male horses can get 'beans' that will block their urinary tract and pose a health hazzard if not cleaned.
i’m starting to look for my first horse around christmas. could you do a video on things you can get for a horse before knowing what type of horse your getting. if that makes sense 😂
I was trying to convince my mom to get me to the nearest stable so I can learn how to ride a horse and maybe buy with my own horses but maybe just won’t happen since Cove it
can you do a horse first aid kit video? maybe include how to use the materials or something similar? Also maybe could you possibly do a basic horse training video? Like training groundwork and trust for wild horses
Just stumbled through your channel and even though many things are common knowledge to me, the way you walk it through and the things you talk about regarding the horse's behaviour is really interesting. Very easy to follow, super educational, lovely horse and great quality. Subbed!
⚠️To anyone getting a horse or who wants a horse and are beginners!!⚠️ Green riders and green horses make black and blue. You can’t have unrealistic expectations for a horse. If you genuinely want a horse and think you have experience work with a friend or family member who owns horses!! Or even go to stables and ask to help with stable chores, You’ll see if you’re actually ready to own your own horse or if you just think their pretty animals. I’ve been around horses since the first time I could walk and I still didn’t get my own horse or even Minnie until I was 14. Thats because I wasn’t ready! It’s ok to admit you’re not ready for a horse. I knew how to ride etc but I didn’t even get my own horse until I knew I was ready to do so much barn chores in every kind of weather. I got my first horse and knew it wasn’t gonna go well since I always say. Green rider green horse black and blue. I do have experience with horses and barn animals yet I still refer to call myself a green rider. Yo I don’t need a shire, yo I don’t need a Arabian. Just a little broke experienced horse will do just fine! Don’t get a horse unless you’re absolutely ready. And don’t have unrealistic expectations of which horse you want you aren’t getting a black stallion either. Thank you.
These are such great videos. Been riding since I was a kid but I bought my first horse a year ago. Amazing horse!!! What's your recommendation for deworming? Just found out today 😞
Very helpful for horses that are cross-tie friendly and accustomed to overall routine grooming with some water exposure - thank you! A note: rather than say "de-sensitize your horse", please consider "de-spook". We want to cultivate sensitive, educated equine companions :-)
Thank you for all your horse details and information. Wanted to ask about a painted horse and a Tennessee walker horse, any thoughts. I am interested in these two horses. Getting to know them at a horse place in CA. Both are about 18-20 years old. Thanks for any thoughts or info.
I have an Arabian stallion and he is 3 years old but he has a problem with biting. He does this when he wants more carrots and he’s a little aggressive when he eats them. How do I get him to stop biting and be gentle?
Stop feeding him from hand for a while. When you start again with treats carrots etc make sure he only gets it when he is not asking for it. You can train this over a fence first if he is to pushy or might get aggresiv. Stand next to him( looking in the same direction) and every time his head is in a normal straight position and not in your space you say good or something and give him the treat. You can train this as long as you need and from now on never give him a treat when he is in your space. Sometimes they turn they head around after you said good etc because they know now they get a treat, just wait until he turns his head away again and feed then. And if he is coming your way after you say good etc wait until he turns his head away again. This is kind of a Training method from training with positiv reinforcement if you want to look it up for more. I hope it helps :)
Oh my goodness! Where was this video last spring when I was told to bathe my horse. I think he still has the leftover shampoo in his coat months later!
